Hi
I'm trying to update my sgp 311 xperia tablet z to the latest stock rom. I've already downloaded the latest flashtool in two computers. The first computer is running windows 8 64 bits and the other is running ubuntu 14.04 64 bits.
My problem is that when I get into flash mode (volume down button pressed while plugging the usb), it only stays in flash mode for one minute or less and then it reboots.
I've tried this while in omni rom and on stock.
I've already installed the drivers included on flashtool following windows 8's tutorials. Also usb debugging is on.
I've already searched on google and xda but had no luck.
Thanks in advance.

Hello, I can not enter fastboot (or flashboot) mode on Xperia U, I want to unlock bootloader, I got unlock code from sonymobile website, I am following instructions , but I can not get in fastbot mode anyway,
When I turn of the phone, and press volume up and power button simultaneously while plugging phone to laptop, in device manager new unknown fastboot device apair, but for few seconds, I can ot install android_winusb.inf either, it says, that windows could not find any drivers.
Anyway, after few seconds unknown device disrepair and phone goes to charging.
Android version 2.3.7
windows version win7 ultimate sp1 64 bit (may be this is the problem?)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...sible+solution+for+fastboot-windows7+problems
I Installed flashtool and flashtool drivers for it and finally entered in fastboot mode
Problem is solved
Funny thing is, that it still not works with Sony's original micro USB cable, but works perfectly with Samsung's cable
Windows treats every USB port independently. So windows has to "install" the driver again for every new USB port used. If you connect the Sony USB cable to the port the Samsung is currently connected to it should also work for the Sony cable.

I had this problem with fastboot but after a few reboots it worked, hate windows 7 :/

Can you help me how you did it using flash tools?
Well here's the problem which is quite awkward.
I installed CM9 on my Sony Xperia GO from freexperia project. It worked really great. :good:
the issues is, however, after 3rd time I installed CM9 (I was trying to get CM10 FXP on this device), my PC won't recognize the USB device( i.e. my phone). I am pretty sure I followed all the steps, I wiped the phone after installation everytime. I have MTP (setting>storage>MTP).
I have all the drivers re-installed on my laptop (running on Windows 7). I have tried another USB cable as well. tried all the USB ports.. but I can't make this machine recognize my phone.
and please considering my expertise level, start from level 0.
a big thanks in advance!!

Did you try connecting your phone on fastboot mode and install drivers from control panel?
Yes, but there is no prompt for missing drivers

I tried to connect phone in fastboot and flashboot mode, however, there was no notification for missing drivers. Only the blue light on phone turned to red after sometime ( and green for flashboot mode). I had similar problem earlier as well (not the same one), back then the PC used to show that driver was missing for fastboot. I simply used to go to flashtood>Driver folder and used to install the drivers. It worked earlier. Not anymore though.
Could there be possibility that I messed up (during installation somehow) some phone file which accounts for connectivity with the system?
do you or anyone know which files in phone are responsible for such functioning?
USB not responding
Have you tried using a different USB-port on your PC?
Under Windows XP i have to reinstall all drivers when connecting a device to a different USB jack.
sorry for later reply

I think I tried everything. The weird thing is that the same system with same USB with same port sometimes reads the USB driver. but, when I restart the phone in bootloader mode, it doesn't recognize the drivers again. However, this sometimes is very rare, since the last message, perhaps 2 or 3 times.
Could it be possible that there have been any hardware issue?
I have installed Walkman Experience Elite ROM (4.0.4) and it shows kernel 3.0.8.
The problem is, I can not get into fastboot!
I turn it off, hold Vol+Up and plug in USB, but the blue LED appears only for a couple seconds, then goes off and the phone just continues charging.
I installed Android SDK stuff and I couldnt use it to fastboot CM10 boot.img. I tried Flashtool, AND I installed the drivers.
(Note in case it matters (don't think so): at first I downloaded fastboot drivers alone and installed, but after installing Flashtool those may have been newer drivers, I tried to install them too but it said I already have)
Even after installing the drivers my Xperia U showed no signs of working fastboot, and PC still couldn't recognize it in fastboot.
I had problems installing the drivers, as I found out - because of Windows 8.1, but I got through that.
Another question: Does Xperia U change from ST25a to ST25i depending on kernel/ROM or something? (I have ST25a)
Please help!
I tried to follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447283
But at step 8 it doesn't recognize it as S1 fastboot device.

Hi, I need help with my Xperia Go since my power button has stopped working and I used to turn on my device via fastboot with flashtool on windows 7 32bit. Now I have Windows 8.1 64bit and I can't even install fastboot drivers. I get error when installing them:
Google, inc. (WinUSB) AndroidUsbDeviceClass (12/06/2010 4.0.0000.00000).
Thanks.
Edit: Ok, I got fastboot drivers installed somehow, now I cant see my device in flashtool. When I boot my xperia to fastboot, it stays there only few secs.
Are you using USB 2 or 3 ports?
Someone posted working drivers for USB 3 on windows 8.1 running on Intel chipset, search the forum.

disable driver signature enforcement in windows then install drivers using the package given in flashtool or u can install SUS as it installs fastboot drivers by itself. But before anything it is recommended you ,uninstall the drivers which you have currently
sorry cannot post guide as per xda rules
Hi Guys,
I can't seem to get the USB to connect to windows 8.1..
I don't have a ROM on the device, just TWRP v2.6.3.0 and looking to put on CM11...
Device Manager has:
GT-P7500
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
All with exclamation marks. I've tried installing samsung drivers 1.5.27.0, rebooted, but no luck. PC just is not recognising, or more accurately, letting me use the downloaded drivers for this device.
Trying to use adb, but no luck on three pc's, all using win 8.1 (64bit)..
Any help appreciated.

if you don't have Rom On your Tab you can't connect your tab to PC
you should flash original (stock) rom with ODIN and then install TWRP and install a custom rom

Thanks. I downloaded P7500XWLP6_P7500 (samsung firmware) and uploaded (downloaded?) to the tablet with odin and it seemed to accept it.
Rebooted the tablet, nothing. I can still go in to twrp, so I'm assuming it's not working correctly either. Should I be flashing with odin using bootloader?
