WiFi Tether App without the hassle of re-entering password - Verizon LG G3

Here is a link to a WiFi Tether app that works very well with the LG G3. It is not a free app but well worth the $2.50 if you are like me and just can't stand the hassle of rebooting and re-entering a password each time. I have had zero issues with connecting or re-connecting.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.snclab.wifitetherrouter&hl=en

I Confirm this works. No changing the password like the native tether hack.

I never have to reboot but have to toogle and change password a couple times

Mine worked without making any modifications other than I changed the ssid and password. A friend of mine has it working as well without changing any of the configuration settings.

I've had this app for some time and I can't get it to work. It says it is running but none of my devices can see the SSID.
edit: Of course, after posting this it works fine!

You just need to turn on, change channel and save, every time you turn on native one.

You can also go to this link and use the app here. Works perfect and is free. http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/mod-verizon-g3-hotspotmod-g2-apk-t2852152

Read post 9 from this thread. Then read my post 58 on it. My list is a little different bc I tried one mod but it required password change each time. So then I finally did the correct one. You don't need to use adb. You can just change the permissions on root browser. Ask if you need help.

I used this app with every phone I owned so far and it works with no problem.

Won't do it with Grandfathered Unlimited Data plans... anyway, by looking at data usage they can see if you are tethering or not no matter what app you use to do it. LOL.
$15 for a feature that's suppose to be free no thanks, I may work for T-Mobile but I'm not paying extra for something thats is a froyo feature by default.

Some people are getting Text Messages from T-Mobile stating that they have "some how" picked up that they are tethering via the Google Code, and the native applications and are asking for $15 fee for doing it. there is a thread floating around here somewhere on it.

even though the native Application has a WEP code input option. the Wi-FiTether.apk has a MAC address white listing option along with encryption options so it will only allow certain devices to connect to yours. which i really like. I've been driving down the highway doing 65mph and had people try to connect to my wi-fi that i am letting my wife use for her netbook.
MAC filtering will not allow them to get to the web....
thats my reason for wanting it.
I just use the one built into my phone, they don't charge me and it works great...
Does anyone have the APK of the one that came with the phone? I'm not on stock rom and would like to try the original one
Well in all regards it's a good thing I searched on this subject before I posted anything. In any case does this app let you limit your bandwidth when using it as a wi-fi hotspot? or is there any app that will let me limit my speeds when using the wi-fi?

The only wifi tether app that works after root is wifi_tether_v3_1-beta5.apk. I can't remember where I found it but it's out there.

It doesn't work when you want to tether it to a Touchpad. The touchpad cannot detect the wifi connection coming from the phone.

Has to be implemented for the Photon. If you get mad and want to sell your Touchpad to me for $99 just let me know.
Rooted with One-click AIO MoPho root from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217416
Then downloaded latest (beta6) WiFi Tether from here:
http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/files/wifi_tether_v3_1-beta6.apk
Changed the SSID but left everything else off (encryption, etc) to help with the speed. The work laptop anyway connects over VPN. Set up WiFi connection manually in work laptop (XP) as ad-hoc.
Worked like a champ! It's slow as hell ... but a champ! Let's hope it works a little better when on the road. I just need to show that I'm logged on (Sametime).

Also if you are using an Android Tablet you can tether via Bluetooth rather easily.

After you set the profile to Samsung Galaxy S, get back to the options menu and select "Change Setup-Method" (next one down) and then select "Netd (master)" and that should be it. Hope this works out for you.

WiFi tethering issue

After I installed the new ICS leak I can't get internet on my laptop using my phone to tether either with wireless or when hooked up with USB.
I'm getting a 503 error in google chrome.
Says no internet connection, but I do get internet as I would normally on my phone.
Was able to tether prior to ICS but not now.
Any suggestions?

I was gonna ask that same question right now. At least it is not only me. lol.
Thing is, I don't use T-Mo I use Simple Mobile. Uses T-Mo network but not T-Mo so I should be able to tether unlike the other thread who said its a T-Mo thethering issue.
Sent from your mom's bedroom using XDA APP
I know what Simple Mobile is. It's an ICS issue if you are trying to use "Wireless Tether For Root Users" or any other tether app that is not native.
Trying to tether both wired and wireless and no joy
I'm using the installed tether nothing from the store.
Any workarounds that you know of Hasoon?

Download this

After you install it, press the menu button and choose settings.
Click "Change Device-Profile" and select "Generic ICS"
Go down and check "Routing Fix"
Then it works!

On T-Mobile, without them bugging you to sign up for the tethering plan? I thought they closed that hole ages ago! I don't tether much, but it's good to know for just-in-case!

Well sad panda, after the wireless tether app from Hasoons post and the APN changes to my hotspot settings, ol' tmo caught up with me, dinged my account/sim or whatever they do, now can't even tether on my trusty HD2 sniffle sniffle, guess is gonna up my bill another $15 to power my laptop. Hope one of the devs can figure a work around or patch.

Get the latest one from http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list. The very top one, marked experimental. Start Wifi Tether, Menu/Settings, and Set Device Profile to Samsung Nexus (CDMA/LTE).
Click the bright yellow button...Works fine for me. I streamed Netflix to my laptop for 20 minutes last night. Don't forget to set a WPA password...
