Boot Animation Different Size - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I found a nice boot animation, but it doesnt have the right resolution for my phone (s3 mini). Its made for the nexus 4 (1280x768) and my phone is 800x480. It would be great if someone could make it in the right resolution for my phone. Here is the link for the boot animation, Im new here so I cant post outside links. I will post the link of the xda thread, by the way I want the 2.1 version on the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/themes-apps/boot-animation-watchdogs-v2-1-t2733053

This is good. Anyone out here who knows how to do this? Thanks

Bootanimation for Folio

Hi everybody,
i made a little Bootanimation for the Folio (Foliomod 1.4). (If anybody is interested in this animation i will upload it to my server and post the download-link here.) Link Posted!
If anybody has ideas for other anims, i can try to realize it if you describe it here.
Download: http://wmhblog.de/bootanimation.zip
Install: Just copy the file as it is into: data/local/
BTW: A BIG THANKS to dexter and the other devs for the Folio! Because of you this tab is usable! Foliomod ftw!
Of course we want it. Nice work. Finally some custom stuff starts to turn up. It would be nice with the honeycomb bootanimation, im runing it on my Nexus S and its sick.
Looking forward to download link
Hey.
This is a great work! Thumbs up and thanks.
Wait for the Link
@nickwarn
I found a "original" Honeycomb bootanimation on the net. But the resolution was quite low (400x240 or something like this) and if you try to set the res to the Folio native its really pixelated. And it looks stupid if you keep the low resolution on the 10" screen.
I just installed it, and its nice. Maybe we could have another for FolioNotion?
Thanks
To bad I don't have an SD Card with me...
But I'm gonna flash thsi straight after I get home in a couple houers

[Boot Anim] ICS GNex Optimized Boot Animation for TF Prime!

Hey guys, so maybe someone else has done this but i couldn't find it, and not the optimized version at least. so here it is, put it in data/local and rename it to bootanimation.zip
this is NOT flashable. it's the raw file.
looks real nice, not at nice as on nexus, but... that's the diff. between ips and amoled

That & many others can be found in this thread with links

This one looks a lot clearer than the one I had previously. Thanks again
For those that don't know how to install it:
1. Download the required file to your sdcard & rename it to bootanimation.zip
2. Use root explorer to go to system/media, system/customize/resource or data/local depending on your rom.
3. Rename the old bootanimation file to bootanimation.old and paste the downloaded bootanimation.zip.
4. Now reboot & enjoy .
Your better off putting it into data/local as then there is no need for step #3 & you don't have to worry about the stock animation & you can always just delete this one & the stock animation takes back over. Best of both worlds with less steps.
So this has nothing to do with "depending on your rom" technically speaking
yea i put them in data/local now..
just fyi, i'm not taking credit for the animation or the optimization of the animation (why it looks so good). that's all from the galaxy nexus thread. all i did was rotate the images and make the little animation script for the tablet.
enjoy it! i wanted to upload it to xda but it wouldn't let me... just crashed after a while. rather not have it on my drop box cause i don't know the traffic... any one with a server or whatever?
Can someone repost this version? Link's dead already.

This is the one I made compatible for the Prime from the optimized Galaxy Nexus.

[Q] Droid X Boot Logo question

Hi all,
I am finding so many stickies on creating your own boot logo and I have successfully done so. I followed this tutorial on another site (allegedly copied from xda) because that's what I was able to find and understand the most. And it worked. (droidpirate.com/2010/10/18/how-to-droid-x-droid-2-change-your-bootup-logo/)
However, according to the instructions, the image resolution must be 480x182 which makes for an awfully small logo on the boot screen.
I searched XDA forums looking for a definitive answer on the resolution and regards to the Droid X and I haven't found any, what I have found are a lot of much higher resoltuion logos being used that fill the entire boot screen and they look amazing. I also found a generic Android thread tha says to make the image 240 x 400. When I tried that, it made my boot logo even smaller and put two of them side by side.
So I'm stuck. I can live with a small boot logo if that's just the way it is for a Droid X but it certainly sucks to be stuck there. I am going to tackle custom boot animations this weekend and am wondering about the same limitations.
I did search many forums here first and I found so many different instructions for different Android devices but nothing directly answering this sort of question.
Sorry if I missed it.

[Request] Stock HTC One X boot screen, but in black?

I was wondering if anyone could turn this into a flashable zip? I'm a huge fan of the stock One X boot animations. The down animation isn't really important but if you can get it to work i'll be very grateful. :good:
Here's some animations I found. Credit goes to the source.

I finally found this page. I stumbled on it a while back but lost it. Anyways, I had a question about setting this up on my one x international. I'm using venom 3.7.4 and wanted more clarification on if this is compatible? Now from reading the thread I'm seeing that I must find the original boot file. I wanted to know if it's labeled the same? basically just a swap?

This is evo 4g lte forum how do we know? Look for it with a root explorer. It's going to have at least boot animation in the name
Sent from magical jelly bean.
Just put bootanimation.zip in the appropriate folder (/system/media maybe? It moved at Android 4 I think). Depending on the resolution of the image (or the device it's coming from) it may not fit perfectly but it's easy to fix by cutting out the logo and pasting it into an appropriate sized black box.
EDIT: Follow Post #2 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343377 using the bootanimation.zip you wanted.

I moved your thread to the correct place.
It would be better if you gave us EXACTLY what steps you are doing so that we can help you troubleshoot the issue instead of asking for someone to just do it for you.

Well I have just about tried everything, saving it as gif and recreating it to a frame animation with the Hboot website, to creating each frame and making the zip file myself, it just always comes out fuzzy or pixelated i think its just my PC or something... will try another PC later, Resolution is on 300 and dimensions are on 480 by 480 which is enough, i have also tried putting it to my actual phones dimensions but it comes out the same. - 1080 by 1920
