Is it possible to select which calendars are displayed? I have several calendars and calendars that are shard with me, but I only want to see events from a couple of calendars. Is there a way to change which calendars display in the list? I am trying to use Android L theme.
Thanks.
The only ones that show up on mine are the ones I have checked it to display in Google Calendar.
I assumed that was the case, but is it possible to reduce the calendars shown on the event list than what I actually see in the full calendar app.

Try this:
1. Long press on the homescreen - Advanced - Unlock Widgets.
2. Long press on the calendar widget - Configure.
3. Scroll down to Calendar to Display - then select which calendars you'd like to see.
4. Repeat step 1 to lock widgets into place again.
Hope this helps!
Thanks I will try that.

That worked for the most part. Now is there a way to not show all day events?

Instead of opening the "Calendars to Display," select the "Global Preferences" menu - enable "Hide All Day Events."
Step #2 Isn't working on Galaxy Note 2

Is there any means, other than by root, by which i can change any of the static four widgets?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
What do you mean 4 static widgets? There are no static widgets.
If you mean the 4 shortcuts at the bottom (Phone, Contacts, Messages, Applications), then all you have to do is click on Applications, Menu, Edit and then drag the app that you want onto the shortcuts below. When you are done, hit Menu, Save.
You can not replace the Application shortcut because you need to use that to get into the App drawer.

Open your regular mail app(NOT the gmail app, but make sure you are on your gmail account obviously), then click on the "menu" button, then click "settings", then click "general settings", and then you'll see a check box that says "make default account"
No luck. Clearing defaults button appeared to initially work until I tested it, no prompt for action, went straight to yahoo. Second option didn't work either, general settings for mail shows a greyed out checkmark for default app and does not allow me to uncheck it, no option for default in gmail.

Mine is set to "compose mail" under app associations. I dont use the gmail app so I didnt check the compose gmail option. The way I suggested earlier should have worked for you. Thats really weird. Did you do the same steps I listed for your other email accounts to make sure that one of them wasnt checked off as the default account?
Either way, as long as your problem is resolved its all good. Im just curious as to why the other way wouldnt work.

There are two ways of doing it:
1.
- Open your stock browser or chrome or Firefox
- bookmark your favorite website.
- goto bookmarks, long-click on anyone and select add to home screen.
2. From your launcher.
- long click, select add shortcuts,
- choose bookmark and select your favorite one.
With method two, you must have previously bookmarks that page on your stock browser at least.

most apps have that menu option on the top right (used to have menu button on samsung phone) but flipboard doesn't seem to have this?
as far as i can see i have no option in there on this phone to have a menu appear and choose to sync (download for offline). this is the only app that i have the issue in oddly.
is it just the app needing to be updated or am i missing something?

Menu button also can appear on bottom right side on the navbar. Not using flipboard so can't really say, if there is no 3 points might have something else. Or maybe flipboard need an update for the XZU.

Flipboard uses its own settings. Tap that red thingy on the side or something. It's a clumsy implementation, but it's there.
Sent from my Z Ultra, using XDA Premium 4
that red thing doesn't give any options really. takes you to a content list. story types etc.
plus it's there on my old note2. emailed them anyway
You should really start to search better. Took me 8 seconds to find the settings, which includes offline reading.
Sent from my Z Ultra, using XDA Premium 4
yea, i know that but there's a synchronise and compose option under settings too
Aaand I'm officially confused. What exactly are you trying to do? You want to set a menu button in the app which lets you sync articles for offline reading? Is this an option that lets you so this from an article? I don't use Flipboard on a daily basis, so I have no idea.
Sent from my Z Ultra, using XDA Premium 4
the option you found exists on both my phones. on the note 2 with a physical menu button i get the options i mentioned but unlike very other app on my phone i don't get that 3 dot menu on the top right in flipboard
Alright, as I said, I'm not that familiar with Flipboard, so I don't know. Hope you find out if it though. Cheers.

Been searching all over in the settings to be able to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Anybody know where to do this for the lockscreen?

Maybe tapping on the widget with the weather on the home screen and going into the settings in that app

You might want to take a second look. It's not a global setting, but controlled by the app. So open the app that the widget is linked to and look in the settings menu for that app.
In particular, if you are using the default accuweather app, that is indeed where the setting resides. You may also want to recreate the widget to speed up the change i.e. don't expect that the change will always be reflected instantaneously.
.
OK thanks, I figured it's tied to a certain weather app. Will keep looking. Here is a pic of my lockscreen,
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That appears to be the Accuweather app. From memory.. tap or double tap on the time or temperature on the home screen to open the full page Accuweather.. then click on the menu icon there (3 dots) to get into the app's settings dialog. Then look for the C/F or metric /Imperial toggle.
.
Hmm, Not sure where that app is, I thought I had it frozen in TB. I've only got one weather app installed right now.

That one then. Whatever it is.
.
I froze it and restarted the phone. It did get rid of it so I know that's it, however when unfrozen there is no actual app anywhere to configure.
*Edit it doesn't come back now after unfreeze and rebooting. Oh well no big deal. The weather app I do have and use is Weather & Clock Widget.

Stand alone widgets are less common.. and will be configured from the widget itself instead of a main app then.

The reason his app settings are not showing when he taps the the temp..
Is probably because he has the
Unified Daemon frozen in TB too.
I learned it the hard way from freezing it..

Here is what my lock and home screen looks like..
Here is a link to my 2 apks if you want to try them..put them in system/app ...just rename yours to .bak and you can switch back if doesn't work but should as that's all I changed..then restart phone and replace the original weather widget and make it 100 percent transparent.
Tap on the Temp on the home screen takes you to the settings.

Weather App - change from C to F

I am new and this may just be an old thread that has been resolved.
I went through the entire thread and didn't see a suitable reply.
On my newly acquired Galaxy 5S, I wanted to do the same; change from C to F.
First went through the Settings App and didn't see anything that would make the change.
Sometimes things are very simple. And this was something I probably over-thought.
What I did:
Unlocked the screen, and there's the "Weather App" loaded right on the main screen at the very top of the screen.
I tapped the "Weather App" box, which brought the "Weather App" full screen.
I then tapped the three vertical dots, flush right top on the screen. This brought up four options (black text on white background).
They are from top to bottom, 'Weather map', 'More', 'Settings' and 'Report wrong city name'.
Tap on "Settings":
Then, under "General", the first settings option is "Unit".
Tap "Unit", then tap the radio button "°F" to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Unless you want to continue making additional changes, such as 'Refresh', 'Location' or 'Notifications...' you are done.
There is no "Save" button. The changes that have been made I believe take effect immediately.
All you have to do is back out and get back to the main screen by pressing the Home button to get back to business.
Hope that helps someone, someplace.
Best,
Robert
Hallelujah, I have figured it out. Press on the widget on the lock screen. Select change widget. Choose Accuweather (yes, it does not appear in your apps management list) A whole page opens up with the Accuweather forecast AND in the top right corner (at least on mine) (Note 4) you get the three dots indicating a menu. Press the dots and holy cow the settings for accuweather come up. And there you will see the temperature change option. Right at the top. Hope this helps.
