I rooted my device a few days ago in order to stop the 4.1 ota update, I am currently on 4.0.4 and the device is an xt912.
Today I decided to install safestrap and after installing the recovery and booting into it, I backed up the stock rom.
After backing it up, I clicked on reboot to system.
The device then jumped into a bootloop.
So I cleared cache, dalvik cache, and even factory reset but it won't pass the DROID eye.
So I created a new slot and restored my early backup and to my suprise, it booted up.
I then rebooted back to recovery and cleared system, data, cache and dalvik cache of stock slot and restored the same back up there and rebooted, and it booted up nicely. But after that the recovery kind of disappeared. So I installed safestrap apk again and rebooted to recovery to make sure it flashed.
I was able to boot into the recovery but as I tried to boot back into the rom, I got stuck in a boot loop again.
My problem is if I reinstall the recovery, the device gets stuck in a bootloop, unless I wipe everything and restore my backup.
Also when turn off the phone and connect it to wall charger, the battery sign doesn't show up again.
Can u guys help me out??
Doesn't matter if I loose my stuff.
I just want a working 4.0.4 with root and to be able to charge the device when it's off.
(BTW my version of safestrap is 3.3.0 I think. Its 3 point something.)
I need help ASAP.

i just installed fission 2.4.3 for the droid 2 global. now, when i turn it on, it loops at the screen with the word android that repeated;y glosses over. it keeps looping through this animation. p.s. i have a clockwork backup but i really want this to work
Did you wipe cache/data? This usually happens when you don't wipe, so you should try wiping. Turn off your phone, then while holding x, turn the phone on to get into recovery, and in recovery wipe cache/data

I would suggest you restore your backup and try again, except this time wipe cache/data. I had the same problem too. However, I got into clockwork recovery mode by pulling out the battery during the M logo, not by holding X. Try whatever works for you!
There's no need to do it again. Wipe your cache and data and you should boot right up.
I had this same problem. It was because when installing the rom for the first time, I only deleted the cache when installing from the Fission ROM Manager, and not cache+data.
In the end I needed to re-SBF the phone, delete cache+data, root, install Droid2Bootstrapper & FRM, then follow the instructions properly
Can somebody delete this post? I hate vBulletin. It is extremely insecure, and doesn't have all the necessary features one would expect from a bb.
Ok so I'm fairly new to the rooting scene, and these forums, but so far everything has been pretty good, except for one small problem. I installed a custom boot logo, and afterwards my phone was lagging a bit. I contacted the boot logo programmer, with no response, so I decided to wipe my system and use the backup from right before I installed the custom boot logo. Unfortunately, the boot logo has not changed, and my phone 'fails' whenever I try to flash something from Odin. Anyone know what to do in this situation.
If you want to do a full wipe of you device, cos it sounds like tha boot logo is corrupt, then boot to recovery and wipe cache partition and dalvik cache.then go to "storage and mounts" and format system, data and cache.Select "Go Back" and factory reset your phone and reboot. If it doesnt go past the boot logo after 1min then pull the battery, put it back in and turn it back on.Its a pain in the arse but it will completely clean up your device and if you where rooted you will need to probably reroot but berfore hand plug in your phone to your PC so it gets recognized again.
EDIT:Just incase, first of all download titanium backup from the market and backup your apps!!!!

You need to wipe usb storage, sd card, then put phone in download mode, flash stock ROM using Odin. You need to fully wipe everything.

I've trying reflashing the stock ROM and kernel; however, it gives me a FAIL and says can't open the serial (COM) port.
I have solved the problem by closing Samsung Kies and wiping the system, thanks for all the help offered.
Hey,
First off i hope i have put this on the right sub forum.
I've been stupid (I Think) I've olso looked around on the forum and the [READ THIS] Got a Boot Loop? Don't post a New Thread!
topic.
I'm using my SGS2 for a year now and was using the ressurexionRimix rom for a while.
I've been plaing around with my phone so i got lots of folder that were not used etc, so I wanted to get it back to factory settings, here is when all went down.
Via Settings-Backup and recovery i gave my phone a factory reset (while using the latest ressurexionremix rom, i think this is the misstake i made) When my phone went into the reboot is got stuck on the splash screen, it kept reapeeting the boot animation.
The second mistake i mad was not puting back my back-up but thought well i want it back to it's first state so i'll use ODIN to flash the stock ROM onto it. now, 4 hours later and about 10 trys with diferent versions of the stock roms i'm still stuck on the boot screen.
I've also tryd flashing a cwm so i could get in cwm recovery, this also without any luck
Does anyone have a idea what to do!?
go back to recovery - mounts andstorage and format the following :
cache, system, data, sdcards if you have it in recovery. reboot
you have a bkank screen as your phone has been wiped. reboot into download mode.
Connect odin and flash a stock rom. reboot and your phone should work provided that you have not damaged the flash chip on the motherboard.
Is this in CWM? the problem is i dont have that anymore because i've flashed it toc stok. I now get in the Android system recovery
The option i get there ar:
Reboot system now
apply update from external storage
Wype data/factory reset
Wipe cache parition
apply update from cash
test redbend fola[FS]
Will try this, thank..will let you know if it worked
Wiped data/factory reset and cache after this i ebooted my phone and i got the message installing application, now i'm in the setup menu. Looks like it is working.
Did'nt realice there was a recovery besides CWM Thank yoy so much Cosmic Blue!!! You saved my life!!
I tried flashing the android revolution and everything went great except when the phone shut off right before it promted me to reboot the system. i Booted it back up, and now it's telling me that my root is broken/missing. I tried going back to the backup that i made before the flashing but it was stuck on a bootloop. I dont know what to do. Is my phone bricked? i can still manage to go to recovery, i have twrp.
No, the phone is not bricked. As long as the screen comes on, you can recover.
Did you do a full wipe (data, Dalvik, and cache) before flashing the ROM?
Just try doing a wipe in recovery, and flashing the ROM again.
Hi!
As mentioned in my previous thread, I had virus in my phone which was somehow attached to the system, so if even didn't remove when I tried to Factory Reset it many time. The user @sdeepb told me to wipe everything and then flash the Stock ROM again.
First of all I rooted it using King Root and removed some system apps which were demanding root access, but it also didn't stop advertisements. So then I installed TWRP v2.7.0.0 using this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvJFIQLXa5s
Then I booted into recovery, first made backup of that ROM, I thought that the backup would store in sdcard but it stored in phone's own memory. I wiped Dalvik cache, Cache, Data, Internal SD-card, Android Secure and System. It also deleted the backup
Then I tried many ROMs from here (needrom.com). But in all ROMs, after flashing, when I tried to boot it, phone only shows Lenovo's logo. Last night I waited for 20 minutes but nothing happened. Then I flashed another ROM. Then tried booting it and didn't disturb it for 45 minutes. But still it is not booting the ROM.
(Also, when I try to boot to boot-loader from recovery, I my phone shows black screen on which it is written "=> FASTBOOT mode..." on the bottom.
