I figured I'd put a link to to TWRP 2.7.1.0. since I didn't see it in any of our threads . ( If I missed it and it is in another thread then Im sure Ill hear about it) . Flash this in Odin in the AP Slot and make sure the Re-Partition is (NOT) checked .
Here it is . Ill put up 2 links now just incase one don't work. Also you can use the TWRP app from the play store but I prefer Odin . EDIT: if you dont know what a custom recovery is then this is not for you .

What is a custom recovery for? I installed and triped knox. I thought with an unlocked bootloader you never have to worry about a custom recovery. Just use mobile odin pro to flash any custom rom of your choice?
Can you give me a bit of info? Google will just confuse me more then I am

If you have handset protection on your device dont worry about KNOX. Nothing Voids handset protection If you just type what is TWRP recovery into you tube you will see exactly what it is. Also Please see our Q/A thread

I tried flashing the TAR in Odin and it says successful but I do not have TWRP? Its still the stock recovery. Does something need to happen before you flash the TAR to make it stick?

So when you hold volume up + home button and power on the phone it boots into stock recovery not TWRP? I know for flashing modems you have to pull the battery for 5 or 10 seconds then put it back in and then use odin. I guess try pulling the battery for 5 or 10 seconds then put it back in and try again.. That is the only solution i have for you and it will probably work. Or you can try using this tool kit but it does the same thing ,it just does it automaticly .But try the battery pull first and if that dont work use this

taking the battery didn't work. I'm on stock build KOT49H.G900TUVU1BNG1. Its the latest update provided by T-Mobile. I'm thinking the latest build is blocking TWRP from being applied. I'm assuming I need to downgrade to apply TWRP. Thank you for the suggestion!

Yeah let me know if that worked . Mine came with NCH . I actually rooted it while i was still in the tmobile store buying it . I had Towel Root on my SD. The sales guy at T-Mobile was trying to tell me there is no root method for my phone when i got it . Before the purchase was final i was rooted . The sales people all think they know everything about phones but in reality the only solution they have to most problems is to do a factory reset.LOL...........Good Luck
For those of you having problems flashing TWRP: download Flashify from the play store and flash TWRP from there. I've never used ODIN or a PC to flash a recovery. I just use Flashify. Works like a charm.

I just flashed Twrp via odin on my PC with NG3 and it worked fine .. I am the complete opposite . I have never had any problems flashing a recovery with Odin on PC . The person that posted above said TWRP wasnt sticking because he was on the latest stock firmware but he must be doing something wrong cause it worked just fine for me . I always thought and still do think flashing with Odin on my PC has been safer than flashing with an app . Out of the 900 and something people that viewed this thread only one posted about having problems with it . Im guessing user error

Thank you for trying that for me. I downgraded to NF6 by flashing the full stock TAR from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761412. I still was not able to flash TWRP. What's weird is towelroot wouldn't work either. I'm thinking something got patched that's not reversible. When I first got the phone Towelroot worked just fine. Ill keep searching the forums.
Thanks again!

Do you have USB debugging Enabled ? Its under developer options . If you dont see developer options go into build version in About phone and click on Build version until it says develper option enabled .Sound like that can be your problem .Nothiung was patched that couldnt be fixed by downgrading

All i know is USb debugging needs to be enabled . There is no way anything was patched that would stop you from being able to flash a recovery. The boot loader would have to be locked . Go back to NCH and try towel root . I hate to say this but it has to be something you are doing wrong brcause i updated to the latest firmware already and flashed a recovery . Samsung can only patch thing to work on the firmware you are running .For example if you are on ne6 and something was patched on it then that patch wouldnt be relavant when you change firmwares . Unless it was a BootLoader . I would double check usb debug is enabled then reflash TWRP . Maybe re download the twrp and try it again . I have 2.7.0.1 up . If you already have that one try 2.7.0.0 . After you flash TWRP and try to boot into recovery what does it do? Does it boot into stock recovery?

What did you use to root your phone?
ODIN?
Have you ever used the program ODIN? If you already have the driver installed into your computer ODIN should be able to bring it back. Install Odin and find the your Operating system files for your phone. Im sure theres a video or forum for it. Google it.

Of course you don't have CWM Recovery; you flashed a stock kernel. Having root and having CWM are not the same thing.
Relax, you didn't do anything wrong; you're just not finished yet. What you need to do now is download Mobile Odin from the market, and use it to flash either Entropy's Daily Driver or Siyah. Either one includes CWM Recovery.

Save your data, then try doing a Factory Reset, see if takes you back to official. If your KNOX is 0x1, then you can flash a fresh copy of 4.4.2 through a recovery like twrp or cwm. If you where rooted, Towel Root and others will not root 4.4.4 yet.

Cheryl, I had the same problem when trying to go back to stock 4.4.2 from being rooted. Sometimes it doesn't stick the first couple of times, I don't know why. First, get a fresh copy of 4.4.2 NC5, here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712205 this is a complete copy OS/bootloader/baseband. Just follow the instructions on the thread. Here is a link for Samsung drivers, and Odin v 1.85 http://www.downloadodin.info/download-odin-1-85 I think Odin v 1.85 works best.

You download odin than downliad twrp than run odin and check ap and select the twrp you downloaded. Put your phone in download mode and start odin. One thing you need to watch out for is after the process finishes the phone reboots and you need to have it go immediately into recovery instead of booting up.. if you need more info you will need to do some reading there are plenty of how toos and i can't type this much on my phone
I saw alot of people asking about these, so I've repacked the stock Modem, Bootloader, Kernel and Recovery from the full .tar separately as Odin flashable .tar's for anyone who needs them. And also created a recovery flashable stock kernel.
I've tested them all out and they work correctly for me, use at your own risk though. For G900T ONLY
Also, consider this: Warning flashing Bootloader/Modem/ FULL FIRMWARE LOLLIPOP

Phone/CP:
Modem
PDA/AP:

Thanks so much for posting these. I upgraded modem, bootloader and kernel no problem.
Stock kernel seems to work better than the ktoonsez one (for me at least), but i don't think I can get SElinux to be permissive on the stock kernel (doesn't seem to stick when I use SElinux mode changer app), which in turn seems to mean I can't use Viper...so I flashed back ktoonsez kernel since I can't live without Viper
Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong...I know this isn't a Viper thread, but I'm pretty sure I read over there that SElinux permissive was a must for Viper to work, so if stock kernel doesn't allow for that, then my next thought is it possible to have stock kernel that's SElinux permissive?
How did you guys install the stock kernel? I used odin, wiped cache, and all I get is the initial Galaxy S5 Power By Android logo and it never goes past this.
did you try pulling the battery before you start the phone up on download mode? I always have to do that first and the always works for me.

As cyhamada says above, you sometimes have to pull the battery before going into Download mode. Also, try a different version of Odin. With Odin 3.09 flashing the full .tar results with my phone sitting on the boot logo.
Updated Bootloader/Modem, yet my Baseband hasn't changed from NK2, shouldn't it change to the OB1?
I'm running CM12, boots fine, LTE signal's been junk since upgrading to NK2 and was hoping this new modem would have some corrections. (Phoenix, AZ)

You have to be on stock for it to stick, and sometimes it will take a couple tries of lashing it even then, usually the best way is to pull battery and then boot into download.

Here's what I would do if I were in your situation. Grab the full OB1 .tar and Odin 3.07 along with TWRP. I would: Odin TWRP>Do a factory reset>Pull battery>Boot into Download mode>Flash OB1>Let it sit for about 20 min. If you have adb set up on your computer I would also do "adb logcat" to see what exactly is going on. Although I don't recall if it'll pickup after a factory reset, I just do it so often on mine I never pay attention.
If that failed I would Odin TWRP and grab one of the Lollipop roms and flash that.
i managed to get the OF6 sprint full rom file through kies.
this is only to be flashed using odin in the ap slot.
you will probably lose root and your custom recovery.
you may be able to root it and restore the data . That up to you to try.
This is the Sprint version Only!
here is the link: if someone wants to provide a mirror that would be appreciated.
Disabling 'Reactivation Lock' from 'Security' in the settings allowed me to root and add a custom recovery (TWRP).

no you dont have to update and no it isnt necessary. but if you are on stock OA6 I would take to guess that this rom is 5 months newer with improvements in alot of areas. they claim its for factory reset protection (so someone cant steal your phone and just factory reset it and it theirs now) and for reactivation protection (same thing so noone can reactivate the phone and make it theirs)
if i was on straight stock i would update. if i was on a stock rooted i would either try and root it or wait for someone to root the tar file and make it flashable through recovery.
thats my take on it.
cool... thanks. I like the security features, but at the same time I may wait till the new Moar comes out to do the work.
Is there a new radio and modem version with this update?

Thank you for this and by chance has anyone seen a firmware/modem update only for OF6 yet?
Edit: Found! Thanks tdunham - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=21717
I was just gonna show you that. Lol
Sprint GS5 Moars 6.2
Has anyone successfully loaded a custom recovery and possibly one of the available OA6 ROMs after updating to this full tar?
I know there are separate modem and firmware files, but I was just curious if anyone has tried to go there from full stock.

Yes. In fact, I did a full rom install, with nand erase all (after a bad flash), and I still went back to OA6 and OD3 stock deodexed roms.
Flashing TWRP from Odin works fine after flashing OF6 or OD3. I also used the CF one click root method, and that also worked for me.
Everything I did was in Odin 3.10.6.
Chainfires auto root makes odin complains about the recovery and shows 'fuse>3', which (I assume) means I've already burnt thru three of the 400+ fuses in the phone (kernel, recovery and probably rooting). I've tried odin 3.10.6 and the version that comes with chainfires auto root. Towelroot v3 says my phone isn't supported, even when using the command mod options.
I'll boot back into Windowz and try this a few more times. I don't see/know how joshdv rooted his phone...
edit: let's add insult to injury. I can't downgrade the firmware/OS to OA6, says it fails OS version.

@joshdv
Maybe it would help if you posted the link to the autoroot tar and any special steps you took to get it working.

Ya, before I flashed this, I knew I was probably stuck with OF6 and that there currently wasn't a reliable method to get root. Now, it's a waiting game to see if someone comes up with a method/hack to root this. GooooOOOOO CHAINFIRE!!!

Depends how long you're willing to wait and if you want to keep the warranty bit untripped.
If it doesn't matter, you can still flash custom recovery in odin and any one of the pre-rooted custom or stock roms that will run on the lollipop bootloader.
I got root by just installing custom recovery and flashing super su. zip

So I just installed the 0.2.3 cm 12 beta rom on and since I was giving my galaxy light to a friend I decided to do a factory reset so when I did that the phone rebooted and now its stuck at the twrp recovery splashscreen. I've already tried rebooting and re-flashing twrp but no luck. Could it be a cache problem or something? Thanks to all in advance who reply.

Im guessing you wiped device and if you go into recovery and try to reboot system it will tell you no os installed if that is the case you can plug device into computer and still use twrp as file manager thats if you had a backup stored on desktop or drag a CM zip to device .
other method of course would be to enter download mode and use odin to flash stock firmware for your device not sure if you have t399 or the N varient lastest beening OH2/OH3 you can find that in my filehost i have stock odin zips to flash.

I used the download from this guide by ShabbyPenguin: http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-restore-your-galaxy-light-to-stock-mja.846767/
Hey guys...I did the same thing but my t399 must have lost battery charge because when I picked it back up, it was dead...I plugged in and it started flashing the Samsung screen slowly at me. It would not reboot. I did get download and twrp to show up and start to atleast work enough to flash and Odin again...I used Shabby's kernel source and it is still doing the same thing after flashing through Odin. Still stuck on Samsung screen slowly flashing and recovery shows no operating system. I'm about to put it back in a drawer but I feel it's so close that I had to ask for help. I flashed shabby work to root and recovery. I flashed twrp 2.7 and the cm12 beta rom. Then back to shabby guide to get it to recognize, it did..kind of..but still boot looped. Flashed 3 times... No changes. Can anyone help or is it time for a staircase? hA!
Oh yes .. I don't think the battery is bad.. I checked it with a meter and it reads voltage. It does get pretty hot while I'm working on it though and my pc shows its charged at 100% but the phone doesn't show that...it stays in like dead mode. Nit recognizing again. Anybody have suggestions? In recovery it also indicated it can not locate most of my files in read after I flash.. what am I doing wrong.
sgh-399n bootloop
It's taken me 2 months to cry for help. I'm not a complete noobie, but I'm completely exhausted. First of all, one morning I woke up and I thought that somehow my battery was dead. It wasn't. Eventually, I found it in a bootloop. This phone was working fine, running a "Tiger_Lilly" ROM the night before. I've tried everything using Odin, adb and fastboot (I'm not sure how to get the phone in fastboot mode and also, before using Odin, TWRP wouldn't mount/data.) I'm stumped. Would appreciate some help, thank you.
HELP...!!!

What was you using prior to it bootlooping and what rom was installed have you modifed anything else such as partions etc...
also list your method and link rom your trying. just wondering if its the lastest version for device. while in odin also make sure Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time is only selected and what version of odin are you using?
If your unable to flash any rom thru odin then there must be a major problem else where until we can narrow it down no one can assist you.
hi good morning, i actually dont know the prior version of the SW, i am using the available version on sammobile of the sw and i am trying odin to flash, ive already used odin 3.8 and 3.9 and the one that said it is configured to this phone in the thread.
