Hi,
i use a 7D-503 mediapadX1 from china in france, actualy in B007 ( full fresh install ) android 4.4.2 , et EMUI 2.3
the system send me that an update to B010 is available,
i launch the process, download reboot , verifying, install , and it fail
probably because i am root or modified the xlm to have the google apps.
how to apply the OTA update ?
if it's impossible, where to download the B010 update ? what is the changelog ?

I had the same issue with the B007 update. And yes, once you root and modify the xml files you won't be able to update. You'll have to download the whole ROM and do a full install. It might work if you put all the XML's back however, I haven't tried that yet...
At least that's been my experience..
Side Note, I have a 7D-503 as well and don't see the update...
Here's the website where you can download the full roms, but nothing B010 yet...
http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=64
It's actually nice to see Huawei actively fixing stuff. I'm guessing they check these forums and listen to user feedback.
If you get it installed please give us your impression. I'd curious to see if the DPI was still 400. That was one of the things keeping me from upgrading to 4.4.2

Starting with B006,phone/call connectivity was super! Since update to B007 there are spots of poor signal quality on my way to work. Not as bad as my old Samsung galaxy s2, but not anywhere as perfect as before. Anyone (Europe) can confirm?
How is the signal after update to B010?
Is the DPI still 400?

Yes. No change to DPI (still 400) following update to B010.

Can't speak for Europe but works fine here on Rogers LTE. WiFi seems to be slightly better as well although that could be placebo effect.
It is uncanny how much smoother and faster 2.3 feels compared to 2.0... I think I can live with the DPI if the wifi improvements stick.
I was having issues with Wifi on the 4.4.2 B007, But with B010 it seems to be much better.
The 400 DPI is still a drag, but at least I got everything working with B010. So far so good. Wifi and Cellular seem improved. They still act a little weird at times, I swear the Wifi just hangs every once in a while and then will reconnect to my access point and be fine. But so far its good enough to use every day.
The issue with 400 DPI is that some of the apps I used to use no longer install from the play store. And well, the UI is too big in general.
Google+ is one of them, says its not compatible with my phone anymore.

Yup 400 DPI is terrible. Everything looks weird and some apps no longer work.
Manually setting the DPI to 320 breaks alot of other things...
Huawei, if your watching this forum, please go back to the standard android DPI of 320. Everything works and looks normal...
The performance of Kitkat is a nice bump, now it's time to make it compatible with all the apps we used to use.
Please?

Did you try Online Update? If you are running 2.3 B007, it should pick up the update for B010...
Doubt 400dpi will be changed back to 320 any time soon...
There was a huge uprising at the Chinese forum protesting the change of dpi to 400. People are literally screaming there, hoping Huawei folks can hear their protest.
However, it seems that Huawei will not make this desired changed any time soon. The reasons? Huawei has multiple products but X1 is a weirdo. It is a hybrid between a tablet and a cell phone. Naturally, Huawei may want to anchor its development effort on one side, either tablet or phone. Unfortunately, it seems Huawei has chosen the phone side. What people are suspecting there is that Huawei simply transplanted the UI for its 5.5 inch phones to X1. This certainly can save Huawei a lot of time and effort on development and bug fix.
With 400dpi, many times the apps will consider X1 a cell phone but not a tablet, therefore, install the incorrect version or simply refuse to install at all. This is plainly sad.
Meanwhile, apps such as Google Voice callback (e.g., Voice+) does not work on X1. It will result double calling - the native dialer still calls out while a call back is received. Such issues seem to be related to the customization Huawei has done to Android.
Since the bootloader is now unlocked, can someone or the CM folks create a ROM for this fantastic machine?

Cyanogenmod or another rom for huawei mediapad/honor x1 ?
When you are on B007 the system will prompt to do an OTA update. The OTA file is about ~100MB and is downloaded to the HwOUC folder on your ExtSD card. If you modified certain build.prop values, set_immutable.list file or removed stock apk update will fail...a log file, "FOTA_LOG" will be created telling you why the update failed...and it will most likely delete the OTA file it downloaded
So if you rooted or modified system files, you probably have to flash to stock B007, then upon boot the system update program will prompt you to update to B010. My first attempt to update failed because my device was modified, so instead of re-downloading the ~100MB file, I tried to fool the system by placing the file in the ExtSd\HwOUC folder..but it didn't update. So system update program download the file again before update was successful.
Cellular reception is better, is normally get yellow bars at home, but now they are green. Camera performance also seems better, less noise, but didn't see it in the change log. Still 400dpi.
EDIT: Full B010 ROM is out http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=64
I'm in a different part of the country now on vacation and I have noticed that wifi performance is much better on older routers, meaning routers that are not N compatible. G only routers seem to perform much better. When I get back home I'll try experimenting with G only settings in my routers.
The Wifi still seems to freeze every few days of it being on continuously, I just turn off wifi and then back on and it starts working again for a few days. I think it might have to do with switching from wifi to mobile data and back a few times. (I leave wifi running all the time and it is set to never sleep in the advanced settings)
So far for B010, Mostly everything seems better. There's only a couple of things needed to make this more into a production type rom, currently it feels a little Beta... Hopefully this feedback with help Huawei as they seem to be actively fixing things which is more than I can say for the US cellular carriers. I love you China
1. Wifi compatibility/stability needs improvement still. Its better, but not up to reliability standards of any other cellphone i've used. (This might also be limited to the US market as i'm sure Huawei isn't testing phones out here, but really wifi should be wifi no matter which country you are in)
2. For the love of god bring back 320DPI !! (Yes it is big and I could live with that if there weren't so many app compatibility issues, too many apps just don't work at this non standard DPI)
3. I think the memory management still needs some work, From what I can tell the phone like to proactively close apps in the background. This might have been needed for old android versions but is completely unneeded now. Just let android do what android does. (I have even used titanium backup to freeze the Phone Manager app as this seems to be what kills background processes. or at least I think it does)
I think thats really all I can think of. This rom is really great with the exception of the above glaring issues/bugs. There's tons of little things that could be improved, but the above 3 (and really 1 and 2 are the most important) items are keeping this rom from being perfectly functional.

Hi, got one on order - delivery next week, I hope, according to the email received today. I ordered the Android Only version - the dual boot Android / Win 8 was quite a bit more and I already have a MS Win 8 tablet which I dont like so didn't need the pain Also it was USD40 cheaper, so spent themoney on a memory card.
I also have an iPad Air Mini, so it will be interesting to compare to see if the Onda can match an iPad - not quite a direct comparison, but will be interesting.
http://www.onda-tablet.com/onda-v919-3g-air-9-7-inch-retina-screen-ram-2gb-octa-core-3g-android-tablet.html
Jeff
Jeff, tell us how the tablet is. what are the features like? how is the dual boot? etc....
Sorry for delay - I didn't get an email note to say a reply had been posted!
Anyway, I bought the Android version as I have a Win 8 tablet and hate it.
As usual for a Chinese item, it was configured for English (US) and has a selection of rather "unusual" programs and apps loaded as standard. Most are in-built into the ROM and cannot be deleted.
It is, basically, a large Android Phone running 4.4.2. It has a well configured 16Gb internal USB drive of which approx 12Gb is free to load apps. I have put a 64Gb TF card in and it is recognised and formatted automatically. It has a Micro SIM slot but my WorldSIM card is not recognised as it does not pull-in the SIM tools from the SIM card so cannot find a signal. I will buy a PAYG SIM from Tesco when I next go there.
It proved impossible to root the ROM using all of the APK or USB type methods - 4.4.2 is known to be extremely difficult and 4.4.3 almost impossible (I have read). I saw an add on the web for a USD39.95 root or your money back. Nothing ventured, Nothing gained, so I clicked on the link. A chat box opened and I discussed the issue (Chinese tablet / 4.4.2 etc.) and the techy guy said it was 50/50. He did confirm that if it didn't work there would be no damage and a full refund; if it did work, then that's good. I paid by PayPal and as soon as it went through, I got an invite to allow remote access. The tech guy downloaded iRoot (which has already failed for me) as well as a small toolkit. He ran a DOS promt and got the phone to be recognised - this is the secret that made it work; a standard USB/Phone driver is not working well with 4.4.2.
Once the phone saw the USB connection, he ran iRoot and after 5 minutes and a few reboots, it was rooted. He then tidied up the PC by deleting the files he had downloaded.
On the tablet, I now had a rooted ROM and a selection of new Chinese icons (SuperCLeaner / SuperUser and a few "extras"). Being untrustworthy, I wanted to replace those a.s.a.p. but being careful not to disturb anything that might un-root me. I went to bed, it was 11:30 and I didn't want to make any mistakes.
This morning, I researched what was available. First install was BUSYBOX FREE which I have always read is a util you should install. Next was SuperSU which is the utility that is normally part of a "Western" root process. As it loaded, it complained that there was already a SuperUser App installed (the Chinese one) so I ticked the box to say "replace it" and kept my fingers crossed. All went OK, rebooted and I now had SuperSU up and running. Next app to look at was the Chinese SuperCleaner which kept popping up saying it was cleaning up the cache etc. Made me suspicious. So, first thing was to get rid of it. It was a simple drag and uninstall.
I was still left with a lot of icons of unknown use (Chinese Characters / Chinese Browser / Chinese email app etc etc) that were part of the ROM and couldn't be deleted.
Next App load : Root App Deleter - says it all. I ran it in "Junior" mode (so no irrepairable damage can be done) and "disabled" everything I culd recognise - this removes the icon from the desktop, but does not delete the App. I will wait a few days and if nothing falls over, I will go back and run as "Professional" which allows permanent (and irreplaceable) deletion.
Next App : Root Explorer which, like a file explorer, lets you look everywhere.
Next App : Titanium Backup - allows you to backup to SD card or elsewhere Apps, setting etc.
Logged into Google / Playstore, clicked "My Apps" and started downloading all of teh Android Apps I wanted to replicate on the tablet (TV, Radio, AllCast, Netflix . . . etc)
There are a few very important apps which are involved with the Root, so Icreated a Root folder and moved all of the icons into it. ALso there were a few Chinese icons that I could not get ris of, so they went in the folder as well. I then moved it to the last desktop well out of the way - out of sight, out of mind
Interestingly, it looks like the full phone hardware is built in as well - along with SMS messaging app there is a phone dialler. I *#06# on the keypad and got an IMEI response and there is a phone onhook/offhook ability, so I assume there is a workin phone. Without a SIM, I cant try it (yet).
Downside : the wireless receiver is a little deaf - my iPad gets a 90% signal almost everywhere int he hosue, this droped the signal upstairs and gives a 75% signal strength within sight of the wireless router. This is a common complaint with Chinese phones and tablets.
So, for less than £100, you get a 9.7" iPad looking tablet, running Android 4.4.2 - not bad at all.
Quick update - PAYG 3G sim works fine- it is a phone as well, works perfectly but a bit large to hold to the ear - so a phone headset is best.
Hi there good people of XDA.
Im on EMUI 3.1 B180 with TSF Launcher as home screen.
Is there a way to change look of Recent Apps tab on this configuration ?
No apps like sidebars with recent apps function shows recent apps. All of them states that there is no recent app. In my opinion somehow they can't get access to read them. Same for other apps claiming they change look of this RA tab.
Why i want to do this:
- I have changed DPI and Recent Apps tab got moved to left which looking bad and it's impractical
- It only show 4 last apps on one screen - (impractical again)
Question 2:
Any way possible to edit some files to achive more recent apps on one screen or change look of RA tab?
If there is no one who knows 100% solution then let's start discussion thread with ideas.
Thanks guys

I actually came here to find the answer to something similar. I think my issues and yours are related.
I also have the b180 firmware and have noticed that apps do not seem to be receiving app usage data despite me having given them access in "settings>security>apps with usage access".
I'm not sure if this issue is related specifically to the b180 firmware as I have only had the honor 7 (PLK-L01) for about 2 weeks and I updated it to b180 the day I got it.
The reasons why I am getting the impression that apps are not receiving app usage data are as follows:
1. I use an app called omni swipe. It has 3 tabs. One called toolbox which has access to various phone settings such as enabling/disabling wifi, one called favourites where I can pin my favourite apps for quick access and one called recent which is supposed to show my most recently used apps. The recent tab is always blank. I have confirmed that the issue is not with the app itself as the same version of the app doesn't have these issues on my old phone (samsung galaxy a3).
2. Again Omni Swipe also has a feature whereby when notifications are received it displays a little red bubble in the corner of the screen. In omni swipe's settings you can specify what apps you want the bubble to be able to appear over and which you don't. An example would be that I have specified that I don't want the bubble to appear while I am using the YouTube app. However the bubble still appears over YouTube. I believe this is because Omni Swipe is unable to determine when I am using the YouTube app due to not receiving app usage data from the phone
3. Opera Max recently received a feature whereby it can track background data usage on an app by app basis. This works fine on my old phone but on the honor 7, Opera Max is unable to distinguish whether the data is being used in the background or whether it's being used while I am using the app actively. Weirdly it does seem to be able to work out what apps I have been using at least although other apps don't.
4. CCleaner is able to determine what processes are currently running so that you can manually kill them with its task manager feature (I am aware that killing processes on Android is pointless, so I don't actually ever use this feature), however whenever I run an analysis it does not detect any running processes whatsoever.
5. Ultimate rotation control allows me to force screen rotation in any app regardless of whether the app natively supports a particular orientation. It has a per app settings section that allows me to specify the particular orientation for any app on an app by app basis. However the per app settings seem to be ignored. Again I believe that this is because Ultimate Rotation Control is unable to determine when specific apps are running due to not receiving app usage data from the phone.
These are all the specific issues I have noticed so far. All seem to be related to me. I have tested that all these issues are not present in the same versions running on my Samsung Galaxy A3.
The issues I have encountered along with the issues you have already described all seem to have the app usage data problem on common.
Does anyone know of any workarounds?

Do you know if the issue was there in the previous version of the firmware to b180? Just wondering if it's just a bug in b180 or in Huawei's implementation of lollipop in general.
I hear that Marshmallow (stable) is being released soon in the UK. Maybe the problem will be fixed in that update anyway. We can only hope.
Let me know if you manage to find a backgate. If I come across anything I'll let you know too. I'm waiting to hear back from Huawei at the moment.

It monitors traffic generated by apps as it passes through the VPN hence it's able to distinguish these, where the rest relies on the usage access API for data usage stats. This is also why in certain cases data usage can differ between what the OS reports and what is displayed in Opera Max.

So would this be why it is able to work out how much data I have used (based on the traffic that has passed through the VPN) but not able to distinguish whether that data was in the background or not due to no access to usage data?
Also do you work for Opera?? Weirdly enough I won this phone from a competition that was run by Opera over Christmas.

Exactly. We need to have usage access to see what app is in the foreground. By that we can mark the rest as in the background and categorize the traffic accordingly. There's a bit of lag in reporting the foreground app (up to 1s, depends on the device, usually around 200ms IIRC) and I'm not sure if we tested this with floating windows yet.
Yes, I work at Opera in a QA Engineer role for Max . I hope you're satisfied with your prize .
If you know your way around ADB you can send me logcats if there are any exceptions thrown due to this issue by Max .
Alternatively you could just wait for the Android MM OTA and see if it fixes the issue.

If you know your way around ADB you can send me logcats if there are any exceptions thrown due to this issue by Max .
Alternatively you could just wait for the Android MM OTA and see if it fixes the issue.

Yeah its a really good phone, just wish Huawei would give me my bootloader unlock code so I can root, but that's a whole other story and topic
I can send you logcats if you want them although I haven't experienced any real issues with Opera Max other than the occasional notification telling me that certain apps have used a lot of background data which I actually used as foreground data but thats not really an issue with the app but rather the app working correctly with the information that is being provided to it by the phone so I can't really fault it for that.
I did report the issue to Honor UK and they said they would submit it as a bug and that hopefully it will be sorted in the Marshmallow update. Just waiting for the update which should be soon hopefully.
Thanks for the clarification anyway. The whole team at opera do a great job with both Opera Max and Opera Browser.

That's an interesting edge case we didn't bump into yet. Sanity-checking system APIs in the app can make sense but on the other hand there's no easy way to later test these cases. It's easier to assume that the app is at fault then and just gather feedback from users .

I'll assume then that the Honor team will tackle this issue then . It's a pity they don't ship with the bootloader unlocked. Having root on devices is essential for comfortable debugging of VPN issues so I feel you .

I now have an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and rooted marshmallow installed. It seems so far that any issues that I was having that were related to requiring access to app usage data are all fixed in the marshmallow update. Opera Max is now working how it used to with correct reporting of what data was used in the foreground and what data was used in the background.
All is good in marshmallow land on my Honor 7 now.

Good to hear that MM works fine for you and that you finally got an unlocked bootloader!
I got this phone as gift. It was purchased in China, but I live and use it in the U.S. using English. Does anyone have any experience doing that?
I was able to get English versions of Yahoo, Skype and Facebook and am limping along with a Chinese Firefox installed, but I still have a numerous software problems:
1) Even in English mode, there are keys still in Chinese and almost all pre-installed Apps are still in Chinese (I can't even get it to "'auto-detect'" other than China time or show the temp in other than Celsius!?!) 2) I'm unable to download Google Play App. 3) Searches via the Chinese Firefox acts like I'm searching from China. I often have to explicitly search for / enter an URL to get what I want. 3) The specs here (at gsmarena.com) says it has a Radio and I see a "Radio" App listed, but I don't see an Icon for it (even in the Folders). 4) I haven't hooked it up to a cell plan yet, but I've read indications (and perhaps they're not for this exact model) that it will only work U.S. 4G or even 3G vs. 4G LTE. I'm Hoping to use it with T-Mobile 4G. It's got great specs, and I believe it costs ~$120 U.S. new, so even as a camera, mobile e-mailer, WiFi Browser, Facebook'er and 3G phone, it's a great deal. Appreciate any help or ideas to get help.

Sounds like you're having issues similar to what I had. Never fear! I am in almost the exact same situation.
I got mine from GearBest last September shortly after it came out because it was such a good deal for the hardware you get. However, I knew ahead of time, and I'm sorry to tell you, that it will not work with T-mobile's 4G LTE. It will, however, work with T-Mobile's HSPA+ (I think it's still considered 3G but it's also sorta better than 3G? Every cell provider uses the same names to refer to totally different technologies, so it's all very confusing.). HSPA+ is more than enough for me; you can still stream 1080p video without buffering as long as you've got a good signal. Maybe web pages won't load instantaneously, but whatever.
My main issue right off the bat was that there was some preinstalled app absolutely draining my battery. The phone was hot most of the time and died by mid afternoon with limited usage. So I needed to fix it.
I'm inferring from your request that you haven't yet tried to root the device. This is the main way I know of to fix your problems. It will allow you to install any of the custom ROMs people share on this site as well as manage preinstalled apps and utilize other apps on the play store that require a rooted device to work.
Disclaimer: Google around and visit other guides for custom ROM installation before you follow this. I may have missed something as I'm typing this up mostly from memory. Your milage may vary, and it's important to make absolutely sure that you know what you're doing so as to avoid bricking your phone.
Basically, all you need to do is:
0. Make sure you have an SD card. I don't know if it's a necessity or not, but it's useful for keeping data like music, backups, and other ROMs stored where the data doesn't need to get wiped every time you install a new ROM.
1. Find the ROM you want to use. I am currently using MoKee by Bule because I've been having battery troubles with virtually every other ROM for some unknown reason. I'd also recommend the official Xiaomi.eu international ROM if you want to continue using MIUI, or Daniel's CM 12.1. Put the downloaded zip onto your SD card. If you don't have an SD card, you'll have to find another guide to help.
3. If necessary, visit openGapps to download the google apps you need to access the play store. Some ROMs come with it, some don't. The ROM's page should tell you. Put it next to the ROM on your phone.
2. Follow this guide to install the MiFlash tool (which you won't necessarily use) which will install all the drivers you need to flash TWRP. You don't necessarily need SuperSU (I don't have it installed), especially if you don't want to mess around with a lot of apps that require a rooted device. Every ROM I've used has some form of built-in root management (though I'm by no means a professional with this stuff).
3. Boot into recovery as suggested in the guide. Go to wipe, advanced wipe and select everything except for Micro SDCard. Swipe to Wipe.
4. Go back to home, install, select storage, Micro SDCard, and find wherever you put the zip of the ROM you downloaded. Select it and Swipe to confirm Flash.
5. If necessary, repeat for the google apps zip.
6. It should take a minute or two to install. Clear cache/dalvik cache if it gives you that option and then reboot the device.
YAY, you should have a clean, functional device free from most Chinese bloatware although this depends on which ROM you install. Some are still Chinese by default but should have readily accessible English options upon startup. Sometimes you need to reboot after selecting English and finishing the startup in order for a few of the Chinese characters to switch to English for some reason. If the default keyboard is still wacky, do your best to make your way to the play store and install google keyboard or whatever other option you desire.
Hope this works!
Hi guys. Just got confirmation that the 32/4 GB model I ordered has been dispatched so hoping to receive it in a week or two. Will need to get it up and running ASAP when it arrives, because my daughter is itching to get her hands on my current phone to replace her broken one, but as this is my first LeTV/LeEco phone, and my first Chinese grey import phone, I am a little confused about where to start to get it set up as I need. I am not sure if it is coming factory sealed with the Chinese stock firmware, or with a reseller installed ROM, but since the reseller said it is "preinstalled" I'm guessing factory stock. I have read through many of the threads on these XDA pages for the device, but as there are various ROMS and various stock SKUs it is a bit overwhelming. Hope you guys can give me your opinions.
How I am hoping to get the phone set up is as follows: at least basic Google functionality (Play Store, Calendar Sync, Contacts Sync), as little visible Chinese language as possible (preferably none), no active bloat (I definitely don't want to see the LeEco TV and video crap). Stability and decent battery life are more important to me than trying to get a more vanilla android experience, so I am thinking a stock ROM or stock-based ROM are better for me than trying Resurrection or CM (at least at first).
I am wondering if I should (a) stay with the stock Chinese firmware, try to install basic google apps and root/debloat it myself, or (b) flash the stock Indian firmware and root/debloat it myself, or (c) flash one of the debloated stock based ROMS. And if I go for option (c), I am not really sure whether to go for TeamSpain or Cuoco. What are their relative merits or demerits?
Hope some of you guys who already have this phone can give me your recommendations. Thanks!
P.S. My native language is English and I do not require any other languages (as long as I can install Google Japanese keyboard)
I've had mine for two weeks.
1. Download all the updates (latest 17s)
2. You can then choose between US or UK English.
3. Play store is pre-installed so download all the apps you prefer, like mail, browser, calender etc. and in App management go to Default apps at the bottom and then make your choice.
4. Remove the Le TV screen on the left of the home screen by long press it and click on the eye on the top and Le TV will dissappear next time.
5. To remove the Live button on the home screen you have to download a Launcher, I have the Nova launcher (Prime) and with the Prime version I can hide all the bloatware apps.
6. The Leeco bloatware is very resource friendly and
doesn't use upp any battery for what I can notice and with a launcher like nova there is no need to potentially ruin your phone already because Leeco will probably provide a couple more updates.
Any questions feel free to ask
@Barnis78 has already mentioned the most important things.
i for one use it with the Standard Rom Chinese 17s and Google Stock Launcher. And i Love it.
I don't remove Bloatware cause as Barnis mentioned it's no Problem at all, and you've got the Advantage that you get all the ota updates..
Thanks guys, that's really good stuff to know. I have Nova Prime too, so if the bloat is not impacting on device resources I may just do as you guys and go stock.

It did not with 16s, it turned out that the Google account settings didn't have the Contact option so I downloaded the Google contact sync 6.0.1 apk and restarted the phone and it worked. You will have 17s version
when the phone is updated so check when the Google account is setup if you have Contacts sync in the settings.
One more thing, if your calls disconnects after 2-3 minutes, go to the Dual Sim & mobile network settings and turn of VoLTE HD calls.

Phone calls, they did disconnected after 2-3 minutes when talking to people. I didn't know what the reason was at first but the reason was the 'Volte HD call' setting. You have to phone a person who also have the same setting, the carrier also has to support it of course.

Sorry mate, I was just joking - you know, phone calls, nobody makes phone calls anymore.
Actually, I do hardly make or receive any calls nowadays. But your info is good to know anyway. Thanks.
I'm thinking it might be better to flash the latest official Indian firmware, rather than the Chinese. I gather the Indian one has Google play services already built-in. Is it a simple process to flash that one? And is there any disadvantage to using the Indian firmware over the Chinese?
I'm also interested in the same, wether Chinese or Indian is the better deal regarding Stock firmware?

I'm running stock and the latest Chinese 19s, there isn't a single issue up until now. I had to recalibrate the fingerprint though. The battery life is very good, I charge once every 24 hours, I get like 6 hour more compared to the 17s version.

Was using Cuoco92 latest 17S based, but flashed stock 19S last night. It's a lot more effort to get it set up - get google stuff installed and working properly, root, debloat etc. But once it is done it seems to be working well. Latest xposed v86 works, fingerprint sensor works well, they fixed the theme selector bug (though I use Google Now launcher, so that isn't really relevant to me). Not sure about battery yet, but 17S was ok so if it is the same I'll be happy.

I'm running original, no root so with this update you download and place the file in the root directory in the internal memory, (no subfolders) I downloaded direct to my phone so I had to cut the file from Download directory and place it direct in the internal memory, the phone won't find the file otherwise. Then you have to rename the file to update.zip. Then go to System Update in settings and do a Local update, the phone will find the file automatically. Just leave the phone when it's updating, it will take several minutes.
I am also running 17s stock chinese firmware. I have Nova launcher and everything seems to be working fine. my carrier does not support VoLte so I have it disabled.
I am holding off on the 19s until its deemed stable by Leeco and add it to their OTA update. I dont want to beta test it
19S, with root and xposed, gravity box, and the leaked Pixel launcher is very stable and useable. Very pleased with it.
Started having a lot of problems with play store yesterday, both on Chinese 19S and 17S-based Cuoco92. In the end I decided it was too much hassle and just installed the Indian 16S. It gets lower Antutu scores and you have no control over the Dolby Atmos settings (as far as I can find) but otherwise it's stable and smooth and has a lot less bloat than the Chinese firmware. Overall, it's probably a better option I reckon.

Battery drain issue at X2_X820-OS-OP-FGXOSOP5801607292S firmware Indian firmware.
For some reason my phone pretty much discharges 30% itself in about 12 hours while idle. WiFi is off, GPS is off, Bluetooth is off, Sync is off, all opened programs are closed. On LE_X2_X820-CN-FN-FEXCNFN5801607221S-5.8.016S or 17 firmware battery is good

Hi,
I can confirm that the Phone as delivered is free from bloatware for the most part (if doesn't sit around in the background) , The Chinese EUI factory rom 5.8.015s (mine has had zero problems) Is incredible fast My first run Anatutu was 145,725 and the EUI system menu style while not AOSP like it more than effective. Just install Google now and you are good to go.
I had a minor problem with finger prints but once I calibrated the sensor and used a better finger, Its funny how over time certain fingers are worn, lol.
I was going to root mine and Rom it but once I got my Max 2 I have been too busy snapping photos, videos, making calls to even bother !
I am looking forward to maybe android 7 from LeEco, which I'm sure they are working on, Again taking nothing away from the developer guys here.
If you want to be your daily driver I would leave it alone for now unless you want to.
cheers
Hi
you can find it on Elephone Forum

based on Android 7.1.1.
Changes (after stock firmware 20171018):
- Optimized proximity sensor
- Optimized camera (recommendation: in Camera settings set to Allow manual exposition, and set exposition to -1 or -2, the camera will work faster)
- Optimized power consumption and battery life
- Optimized stability
- Solved heating problem while simple apps used
- Some other bugs fixed.
Wow, nice ! I'll try this asap I hope this is better than Eragon

I think it would be helpful that you make a new topic, too. Because all I know is that you can't get into recovery without a system .... maybe adb and fastboot!?
This ROM brings even more bugs.
According to users on the official Elephone site the ROM is not recommended.
https://bbs.elephone.hk/forum.php?m...&extra=page=1&ordertype=2&page=2#.WzaSXtIzaM8
I flashed it a few hours ago. When you load the scatter file with flashtool be careful that 'userdata' is NOT checked or all your apps and data will be lost.
After flashing the new rom I flashed twrp recovery with flashtool and then booted into recovery with 'adb reboot recovery'. There I installed supersu.zip for root access.
The new rom does not make a real difference at first sight. I will try it a few days to find out about battery and performance.
What I already found out:
-more bloatware
-no live wallpapers supported
Does anyone have an idea how to install the live wallpaper abilty to the system?
I have installed the rom for almost a week now, this is what i found so far:
-memory management diferences are negligible if any
- audio sync in certain apps have not changed
-camera app is a old version of google camera and it is buggy, but can be easely fixed by a 3rd party camera app
- performace seens a lot better with a inscrease of score in antutu from 78k to 90k and it does fell a lot better to use
-the new bloat is just google stuf and dolby atmos which does somewhat work as intended
-the old bloat like mtk logger is not present
-no further bugs found yet
Can waste time trying out rubbish. If they can't do OTA then they can shave that update up their a#s.

I'm using the 'new' rom for 2 and a half weeks now and today I flash back the original firmware. Here is what I found out on my S8:
postive:
- battery life and charging time have actually improved (that's it for positive...)
negative:
- Live wallpapers don't work. I did not find a way to solve this.
- No real improvement on the camera, focus is still slow. They use a different app now but sadly the front light is not supported anymore.
- Problems with changing networks got even worse. On the old rom I had problems when changing between mobile data and wifi, now even changing between wifi networks does not work properly
- Wifi speed is very low sometimes. The only way to solve this is a complete reboot.
- I did not notice any improvement in performance and temperature, so I cannot tell whether this is good or not.
- Bloatware like some google apps, a few apps called something like lawnchair, unknown file explorer and music apps
If this is the update we are waiting for since half a year, it is very disappointing. In my opinion they got it even worse and there is no reason to flash it.

Dude, all your "solutions" is just showing off how toxic trash you are. Learn some common human decency, grow a brain (brain cells first), I heard these are popular nowadays
