One of the things I loved about my Samsung was Blocking Mode, where I could block notifications overnight. This way getting an email would not wake me up. I cannot seem to find the same option on the LG G3, is it called something else, or does it just not exist on here?

Blocking mode is in settings/sound tab/quiet mode
But it is defective... If u put people on ur allowed list it will still silence their calls. Had to download nights keeper as a fix for now.

Do you have it turned on under the sound settings?

In vibration mode, all those settings get greyed out. And by default it SHOULD vibrate for incoming calls and notifications right? I don't want it to vibrate in normal mode... I can't get it to vibrate in vibration mode however.. For some reason it automatically goes to "silent mode" upon receiving a call, though I kept it in vibration mode... I just tested it.. makes me go mad!
It is possible that an app I am using (Profile Scheduler) is messing things up...

I would definitely try disabling the app and seeing if that solves the problem. I had a similar issue with my phone not going into vibrate mode. I eventually traced the issue back to an app I was using for different vibration patterns for SMS messages. It had a option buried deep in the settings to disable all system vibrations and that was preventing my phone from vibrating when receiving phone calls.
I had the same problem
It's definitely profile scheduler, I used the same app and experienced the same problem. I spent hours digging through all the settings and experimenting with all configurations without getting the vibration to work properly. During my trials, I noticed on the tray that the icon was set to the vibration setting and when calls came in, it would switch to the no sound icon. It drive me nuts up until I removed the app (which I love the capability and features it provided). So far no problems, but I do miss profile scheduler.

Hurray! It now works perfect without that app... But sad to see that app go.. It was so useful. Any alternates that can help? Or, may be once we get root, we can rectify it.
Option to Profile Scheduler
I went back to Timeriffic, it's an app that you can schedule certain functions to operate at set times. The other is "Profile" by noimjosh. This app is closest in function to Profile Scheduler and I used it for many years on my DINC. But once I upgraded to the DINC4 with ICS and this app didn't work properly any more. To make matters worse, the developer stopped updating the app. The problem was; similar to Profile Scheduler, the vibration setting stopped operating properly.

Have you considered notifying the developer of profile schedule about the bug that causes that issue? Maybe they could find the problem and fix it and you'd be able to keep using the app.

I've seen lots of threads about notifications interrupting music playback, but this is way different...
It seems every time my wife is recording that "once in a lifetime" moment of the baby... she gets a text message or some other inconsequential notification. Now... her problem is my problem, so I have to find her a solution.
Is there any way to prevent notifications form interrupting video recording? The Note 2 is rooted, but not bootloader unlocked.
Thanks!
I'm thinking that putting the device in airplane mode should allow her to record videos without getting notifications. Maybe test it out by putting it in airplane mode, start to record something, and send her a text message while she's recording.

This is a possibility, and a pretty good idea. However, putting the phone in airplane mode every time you want to use the camera is kind of a pain in the butt, especially when you're trying to catch something that's happening RIGHT NOW.
Expanding on your idea, though... I might devise a tasker profile for her, such that when she opens the camera app, her phone will go into airplane mode, and back to normal mode when she closes it. That might work. I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks for the suggestion.
cool. Good idea and good luck

Hi finally got my edge today. Loving it all ready.
I need a way of setting notifications by time meaning the phone auto switches to mute at a certain time on certain days then goes back to on in the morning at a certain time. Does anyone have recommendations please.

do not disturb will do that for you in sounds and notifications
Thanks that's about 90% what I'm after. It would be great to be able to add certain contacts instead of all or favourite etc.

Same here! I don't really use the 'Favorites' feature, but I had to reset all of them so that this feature would work.
There a software name Audio manager pro as I remember, try searching it. Good luck!
Did anyone find a way of using do not disturb to mute notifications? It seems less reliable for third party apps.
There is also Phone weaver, It does everything you said. The only strange issue is when you switch in airplane mode, manually or automatically, only wifi go off, the phone radio doesn't!
There is a trial version too!
I've done a search and haven't found anything so far, so, thought I'd ask here:
What is the purpose of the hidden menu?
How do you access it?
What will it break if I activate it (I've seen some saying that it will break knock on (which i don't use any way and just seems gimmicky)?
Thanks in advance.
Nevermind, found it elsewhere: To access it, you have to input the code 277634#*# into the dialer.

Hasn't broken my knock-on, either.

There was a specific setting you'd have to change in order to break it. I don't remember which one.

I have the T-Mobile version and it was too strong of a coincidence that knock on broke the same day I discovered the hidden menu and started exploring. I didn't notice which menu broke knock on but I do know it had to be something I tapped in the hidden menu because I wasn't doing any other kind of modifications to the phone.
Really it just depends how boldly you explore the hidden menu options. If you do just be prepared to have to perform a reset.
Good news is that if you do break knock on, a device reset will fix it.
Also the official LG backup software seems to back everything up, app settings and even side loaded apps. It's just a little awkwardly implemented in that for security verification it requires you to re-enter the google accounts you had on your phone when you did the backup in order for it to even begin the restoration.
Meaning reset phone, re-enter your google account(s) on your phone, say no to google's auto restoration, then perform the LG bridge restoration.
Since google can automatically partially restore you'll have to say no and just leave it to the LG restoration process otherwise you'll have Play store restoring and updating apps at the same time the LG Bridge is trying to restore.
Played around with the hidden menu and indeed broke my knock feature. Didn't even change anything. I thought something was wrong with the phone. Took it back to tmobile for an exchange.
You can use any shortcut app off play store to put a link to the hidden menu knockon setting and turn it on and off.
I also have accessed it to enable fast dormancy to improve battery life for my TMO V10. It did not disable my knock features thankfully.

Get yourself Quick Shortcut Maker, launch it, change the search type to 'Normal', search for 'Knock On', click on 'Settings', then on 'Try'. On the next screen, switch Knock On back and forth and see if that works.

Found this in another thread. Very helpful and worked to fix mine. It doesn't break Knock On, it just turns it off. No need to reset, just follow the above instructions.

Great, however when there are no settings to turn it back on readily available (ie, in the settings menu), it DOES break it. Back when the issue was discovered, the only way outof off the problem was a reset. I'm glad there's another way now, though.

i looked at fast dormancy but i'm wondering if you get missed calls or dropped tet messages i turned it on to see a bit ago, but i wondering if i can leave it on seeing that i need to be able to get calls and text all the time.
now I'm all worried about giving this a try, lol, will do it anyways though cause well, it's me.
Went to WIFI and hit the last option of the Upsell page (hopefully unlimited tethering is mine now)
Knock on still works
Every now and again, maybe twice a day, I get a notification tone that is cut short, like it's interrupted.
When I look, there's nothing in the notification panel?
Strange and annoying!

I've been having this happen to me where I pull the phone out off my pocket either to answer a phone call, or with my bt headset to see this calling and I see the notification on the screen, but it doesn't give me enough time to read it, it just disappears. I'm on US/at&t .

Its not only weather app, it's basically all apps that can run in the background. For example there's an app voice notify, it can record all notifications and speak it loud. So it does, but when I take the phone out of my pocket, I see no notifications from that app. Also I believe that has something to do with battery drain

Today I had my phone on my shirt pocket and as soon as I finished a phone call, I looked at it and was able to catch the top of it and it said touch input and something else, so I'm thinking the screen is detecting touch while on pocket when the screen wakes up so is giving that notification. Not sure what else it says. Too dam quick to read all.
