Hi, I have an i9100P on O2 upgraded to official stock 4.1.2 and I am having problems find an exact way to root, with the intention of then upgrading CWM Recovery to at least 6.0.4.3 so I can install Resurrection_Remix_KK_v5.1.1-20140507-i9100.zip KitKat ROM

As far as I can make out I can use Philz kernel (does anyone know the exact version for my phone, as I cannot post in his thread).
Can anyone confirm if these are all compatible with my phone.
Also, I thought I read somewhere that ROM Manager doesnt like this phone, is this true? If so, can I just upgrade to a Kitkat compatible CWM Recovery by flashing it in the recovery installed with Philz kernel?

Is there any way to force it to update or to do a manual update? Is anyone else running this ROM?

If you're dead-set on having Kies do it for you, then root and install SpoofFW to have your phone look like it's from a region that will get the update, then re-try Kies.
Or, you can flash whatever firmware you want via Odin.
If you don't want to root, or flash it yourself, then your options are significantly more limited. (you'll have to wait)

KJ1. KI4 is your modem/baseband version (aka PHONE).

I have a Samsung GT-S5820 China mobile made running android 2.3.6, before, I have successfully rooted this device, and days later I update its baseband to a higher version using Odin. And now try to root it again, but here's an error.

I check the root checker and it states only busybox has installed.
I've googled every way of rooting any android device but sadly nothings work.
the question is.. How can I wipe data/cache/ etc that native recovery mode can perform. Because according to some chinese website, this phone has no recovery mode as it is a customized model of samsung device.
or does anyone here knows how to solve this problem? I'd be so thankful if you can help me. Thanks

Are you on the same Build Number? If not, then most likely it'd be a different method.
I checked and it's the exact same build number. I tried like every program there is to root it but none worked so far. Can u help me? ( us)

If that doesn't work, then follow the link to recoveries in #85 and use a custom recovery to install the newest SuperSU zip from Chainfire. I have recently flashed a fresh stock firmware using Odin to my Samsung Ace S5830i after testing out some custom ROMs. Then, after installing the same custom Kernel ([email protected]) and ROM (TouchWiz-Resurrected 2.0) from the last time, the apps I've installed to that ROM was still there and the same thing happens over again when I flash stock then install the Kernel and ROM, even factory reset from the settings doesn't remove the apps (though it should be removed from the stock flash).
And then I saw from the stock recovery this message, "Multi_CSC : there are common apks". So I think that the apps are stored somewhere on the filesystem...
