OK, so I normally have great data service in the Seattle/ Federal Way area but for the last day and a half it keeps dropping to edge or no Data at all. Maybe it's the weather? Anyone else having this issue! Driving me nuts! [emoji37]

I'm in Seattle and I haven't had any issues.
I was streaming on milk music all day at work in West Seattle and my connection dropped a few times.
Wasn't sure if it was the app or something funky with my connection since I just started using it recently...

I believe its the service that runs to play music and communicate with storage to get it. At least , that's the understanding I've got. Someone else please chime in if you can clarify. Thanks

That's my understanding.
Its linked to the OP's playing of Google music. They are connected. I also have the Media Server present when I used Doggcatcher for Podcasts. Its a universal media component.
OT: That is pretty bad battery life. I wonder what your screen on time is. Heavy use?

Yeah it's pretty significant heavy usage with like 2 hours of screen on time and bluetooth streaming music. It wasn't surprising to me, I was just surprised at the media server thing.
Just thought I'd share. LTE was crappy this morning but for better closer to midnight

Swyped on my EVO LTE
That seems pretty low. Hopefully its just due to it not being fully rolled out yet
Holy ish.... I didn't think I would ever see this in my home town..
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I first picked it up in Valley Center and by Hartman Arena in Park City. But yes it does seem a little slow and at times it would drop the network and reconnect almost immediately. I hope it does get faster. But right now i feel like moving to KC for the LTE and Google Fiber.. /nerdgasm
I just ran some speed test.. It's not doing to bad but I've never had anything better than 3G so I might just be in awe...
I also wasn't getting internet at first so I updated PRL and profile and now it's screaming fast. (compared to 3G)

There are only a few towers with LTE in wichita right now. Once the roll out is complete it will be better.
They're definitely working on it. Im getting a signal at my house I wasn't getting a few days ago. I forced lte on my evo and have been connected and surfing for about 30 min now without dropping the connection. Not super fast but can't wait to try it when its complete. I wonder how long it'll take. Any guesses?
Well sheeeeeeyit. I was just in Wichita a couple days ago to visit the folks. Didn't even think about trying LTE tho...
Is it an accepted fact that the times reported on ATT's data usage web page are not accurate? I know for a fact that my wife used 11MB of data at the gym at around 8AM yesterday. ATT's site is reporting that the data was used at 12:02AM. Check it out:

If this is true, then that explains some other large downloads reported at random times in the very early morning (2AM-4AM). Those one could have easily just been her using Google Play Music at the gym if the times are all wrong.
EDIT: Upon further review of the fine print....."Usage timestamps can be off by up to 4 hours." (8 hours in this case?) Anyone elses off by this much?

I am planning on hooking my S4 up to O2 or Vodafone when I get there with a Talk/SMS plan, but maybe no data.
Will this phone be able to lock in with GPS without having a data plan?
I realize I will need an app that has the maps cached on my phone, any reccommendations on which ones or if this is possible with Google Maps?
Thanks, guys.
Sygic. It is a paid app and costs a bit, though.
I could be wrong but I don't think you have to have a data plan to use GPS. Here's the reason behind my response:
My neighbor has been asking if he can use an unactivated iPhone as a speedometer in his 1930 Model A. At first, I said no, then researched and found mixed responses. So this morning I removed the sim from my S4 and drove to work with a speedometer app I had previously downloaded. To my suprise, it worked.

Try removing your sim card and navigating. That'd answer your question.

You do not need a data plan to use the standalone GPS functionality. If AGPS data is old it might take longer for a fix, but that's about it. It's the maps and software that you'd need to be cached/stored locally.
As proof, here is an amusing screenshot for you, and no, it's not a GPS glitch.
anyone have any experience with one of these free GPS apps?
Anyone tested this? I want to use Gear S Instead of garmin 305. I wonder how long I could track my workout with full battery. I want to run with activated gps and hrm and turned off gsm. Anybody help me with this information? thanks
I can go out for 1 hour running:
Nike+ or S health,
GPS,
Hrm,
Call forwarding
And it will cost me about 30%... I imagine music will make it worse.

Can You check with GSM module off?
30% / 1 hour that give us 3 hours workout - not even marathon for me
Anybody else run with gear s?
I'll try that on the weekend. I leave it on so the kids can reach me.
