Anyone knows if there is a way to disable the nasty sound processing LG does on G2? I found there are sound recording apps that can do that, so it's possible. The stock video recorder is killing me with the poor audio quality due to the automatic gain control and noise gate. Manual gain control would be awesome too. Any ideas are welcome!
Anyone? No devs in here familiar with the topic?
Have you try dorimanx kernel? It has an audio control to give more gain to mics and speakers

No, but I don't need more gain, I just need to turn off audio processing during recording.

Every time that I use the phone during a call and the screen turns on, the person I am talking to can't hear me and they hear weird noises. When I use the speaker I don't have any kind of problem. The only tme that this happens is when the screen turns on during a call.
This is very frustrating. Need help.
I have tried different Roms and modems configurations.

Nobody here having this problem? I have tried many roms. Batista, cognition, litening cyanogenmod and many basebands but same problem. Is there any configuration I can access from a service menu?

i am afraid its a not problem in ROM.
While you watching if the screen is on/off i think you aint speaking directly to the micro. so that can produce the voice failure..
the sensor is proximity tht is disabling/enabling the screen on during the calls - but i am sure it has nothing to do with sound quality. While you start making call mate try this - call - press settings button - the one on the left corner(down) and switch off noice reduction - this option appear only during the call - not while dailing or before. give it a try.
Yeah. What he said. And focus on using the microphone and checking lights because you could be out of mic's range.
Iphone > galaxy s 2.
Is there any way to change the microphone gain for recording videos? For example, I find the gain is way too high for recording concerts, all I get is hissing distorted audio. I was an an Aerosmith concert the other day and the audio quality is that bad that all you can hear is noise, no music at all.
I have rooted my phone and have xposed framework installed but I didnt see any apps or anything on there for this to happen.
I used to have a Motorola Atrix a few years ago and it had a recording option for concerts, which lowered the gain and made it excellent quality for videos.
Any ideas would be helpful, cheers!
Flash doom kernel. It will give you the ability to change the gain

I can't flash any kernels, my bootloader is permo-locked

I agree, I recorded some video at a concert last weekend and it's all broken up and distorted. Such a shame since the video quality is so great. I would think firmware/software could fix this. I don't want to have to buy the external mic just to get a quality recording.

The answer would seem to be an external STM10 mic.
Funnily enough, at an Aerosmith concert too:

Can you share the link pls?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/audio-mod-hardware-based-best-audio-t3598455
This is for Snapdragon
if you've only taken a view over the threads section of this device you would've noticed that there are already 2 mods regarding your desire, one which is mine, forgotten, based only on earpiece playback, and the other, still actively developed, which has more features and improvements. Good luck flashing.
I tried to record video in pocophone but hear a lot of bazzing sounds.
Either in MIUI and Custom rom and different camera.
Can you give me tips on how to reduce or what did I do wrong?
After updating my mi a3 to android 11, i've found a bug, when increasing bass on the equalizer, there's something wrong with the audio at high volume, did you guys also find this bug?

It's the system equalizer, you can access it by using the equalizer either on spotify or youtube music for example.
I think it's normal... The bass at max level need more powefull speakers. I think also with external speakers max bass levels are not recommend for a good sound. My works is installer audio video systems

As your phone is MI A3 it doesn't have so much powerful speakers like OnePlus 7t pro so it's there will be some problem like low sound while it is in full volume

Same problem here. I have galaxy a40 and whenever I turn my eq sound quality drops. Looks like it can't handle it. I've tried several different eq apps as well but with no effort.
I think the only possible solution will be downgrade to android 10.
the stock EQ is not that nice, if you increase a certain frequency in the stock eq it will just reduce the other frequencies so that it sounds like that one frequency is boosted, but it sounds so crappy, So if you want a good eq without root try wavelet it's the best that i have tested equivalent or better than viper4android, but note 1 thing wavelet will actually boost the frequencies, so at high volumes you can damage the DAC or speaker so be aware of that.
