Hi, guys, I purchased an used SGS3 and my battery seems to charge slow. I downloaded Galaxy Charging Current and I'm attaching two screenshots below. One is from the AC and the other one is from the USB cable. Is there anything wrong with it?

Most likely a faulty usb cable. Replace it, try again.
Next time, a quick search before posting, usb cables malfunctioning are a very common problem in the forum.
Can I use the USB cable from my old phone? Is there any diffrence?

Not true. Samsung's usb cable sucks.
Any standar micro usb cable works. I've used generic, from xperia, from blackberry.

Can be a charging cable fault change it. If the problem persists.
Then you are having trouble with your charging slot. Yes the hardware charging jack.
It might have been oxidised and thus preventing a proper flow of current.
Your both problems refer to the same cause. Either the charging cable or the (hardware) charging jack. Replace either of them and you are good to go again.
And secondly Samsung DONT block any NonSamsung cable. Even in many cases other cable are found to work more smooth and efficient with Samsung phone as compared to original Samsung cables.

I know the dock will have 2 full size USB ports. But honestly I'd rather just have a little adapter that I can plug into it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have one so hopefully Asus or another brand will produce one to compete!
Would something like this do the trick?

Oh gawd! With this delay and endlessly searching for release times, I forgot about that
How about a dual Female A USB adaptor
Amazon: USB 2.0 Adapter Female A- Female A
...plugged to the cable adaptor that comes in the box?
The cable also has data connectivity for data transfer, it probably should do the trick.
I believe the HongKong electronic shops would come to the rescue. They are known to produce many useless converter before. I don't see why not this time. Probably straight from ASUS connector to USB.
I posted something on on Asus' Campus Life. Please his reply to it and respond requesting this accessory! Look for username Dean.

I hope they make something similar to the hinge on the keyboard dock, so it can actually latch on and has the two usb's and the SD slot, it would also make a nice grip when using the tf vertically. From the pics, what they have so far looks like it's going to stick out a lot and with something that big there is definitely more of a chance it will get knocked out and possibly damage the port.
Dont we have to have usb host support first for the transformer and dont we have to wait for honeycomb 3.1 for that?

Doesn't look so. And some people reported that Female A - Female A adaptors work for some devices (those that have their own power source probably) - there is a thread about it somewhere in this forum. I tried it but my pendrives nor mouse didn't work (there is probably no power line in the USB cable that is used for charging and connecting to computer).

Any ideas on release date to the USB adapter ? Pete
Is there a cable for the prime for USB host? I want a USB port but so far I can only find cables for the Galaxy tab or for micro USB ports. I don't want the keyboard dock, I have my laptop for computing. I just want a cable for it. So far I can only find the Asus dongle for the TF101(compatible right? Same proprietary port?), but that's only for an SD card, not a USB-female port.
Do you mean this? If you need to hook up a usb device to the prime, you need a dongle like the one below.

good question, i was looking at picking one of these up so i could use my ps3 controller with my prime's included charging cable.....
http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Female-5-Pin-Male-Adapter/dp/B002S7PS8M
USB female to mini-usb male.
would this work and do i really need to shell out for that box, i just don;t understand what exactly it does, i think for what i'm trying to do it should be fine, i could see the issues when trying to use a usb hdd as i could see more drivers needed to even access the data from the drive....i would think a ps3 controller would just show up....any suggestions or buying some extra box to carry around 100% necessary....

Bought this last week thinking the same thing.
Does not recognize devices. Something is weird about the dock cable.
I was trying to pair my PS3 controller, I ended up doing it with the keyboard port instead.
On a somewhat related note, I dont recommend you buy the item at that link. I ended up chucking mine out because it was too loose to hold the cables in... and its mustard yellow...eww
I've yet to confirm this myself, but I believe the dock connector uses different pins for "USB Host" (ex: plugging in a controller to the tablet) and "USB Device" (ex: plugging the tablet into a PC) modes. Using a USB Female-Female adapter, as others above have proven, will not work.
Wait...I spoke to soon, the link above is useless. It's backordered and I can't find it anywhere else. Anyone have an idea?
I got mine from microcenter, in tustin, ca. There might still be one there. And yea I first tried a female to female adapter on the usb charging cable it came with and no dice. However this adapter does work. Plugged my 360 controller in and played some shadowgun.
I have recently been looking for an OTG cable for my Samsung galaxy S3. I have had a look on Samsungs site and have found a cable called: 'Galaxy USB MicroUSB Connector'. Here is a link to the product page: samsung-direct.co.uk/en/products/accessories/mobile-devices/cables/samsung/88 I was wondering if this is the same as an OTG (on the go) cable. Is it?

just search on eBay, that sounds like your normal data cable, haven't checked as I can't be bothered typing your link in!
I'm searching for an OTG (on-the-go) cable. Here is an image of what the connecting parts should look like:

As the person said above, just search eBay. I have the exact one in your picture. It works for the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note and Galaxy S3 (and probably other Samsung devices).
OTG cables are fairly standard and should work across a wide variety of devices and manufacturers.
SO even if it doesn't explicitely say "Samsung" or "S3", it _should_ work as long as it says "USB OTG".
I had a look on Samsungs site and have found a cable called: 'Galaxy USB MicroUSB Connector'. Here is a link to the product page: http://www.samsung-direct.co.uk/en/products/accessories/mobile-devices/cables/samsung/88 It doesn't mention OTG but the picture looks as it though it is OTG. Can anyone confirm if it is OTG?
I think you know what an otg cable is since you are going to buy one..check the specifications tab..it says micro usb to usb

It is indeed. I have one in my hand now.
Awesome. Thanks guys. Do I need to root my S3 for the cable to work or does it work as standard?
The cable is part of the features so it does not need rooting.
You need an aftermarket kernel however should you want to access ntfs devices.

Thanks again to everyone for clarifying things.
Any way to disable USB charging?
dafuk?? .....
Im guessing you use like an mhl cable or something in that nature where you need the data connectivity but not the power from the cable?
Then well strip the cable and remove the power lines. RED and BLACK and solder together.
Or manufacture a modul. Lets say you buy a usb extension cord. Break that cable and remove the power cable. Plug in the extension cord between the micro usb cable and mhl or whatever device you're using.
Or I dunno... I think you need to explain y u ask this question..

Doing that won't break otg connectivity, since the 5th pin is also used for sync..?

Then I believe it won't be functioning as otg anymore.
Overall - that's why I wanted on/off hack to turn this on demand only (night charging...).
Yes you are right. Looking at this photo the ground is being actively used for turning regular cable into OTG with pin 4 to pin 5

What you could try and the only thing you really can do here. Is to cut the vcc (red) cable and solder on a switch. Perhaps buy a box to feed the cable through. Drill a hole for the switch. Solder on the vcc cable from the usb cable.
A switch like this, or a screw on model.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5Pcs-Black-...908?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27fe925acc
A box
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Junction-Ad...961?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a3085b49
Or you could buy a ready made kit
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-380V-10A...0&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=330789747574&rt=nc
Flip the switch before u go to bed and turn it off when its done.
From looking at the first picture in theory cutting the vcc cable and turning it from nc to no would just stop the device from charging. But I am not sure. Because there is as you say data actively being fed for the OTG interface.
The two things that can happen is
1: The device stops charging
2: The device loses OTG connection and stops charging
So yeah.. If you have some spare time to take in. Try it and see what happens.

Umm, didn't you seee the adapter with the SIII on it? Isn't it obvious that you need to use it? Omg, the people nowadays. It says right on the effin adapter SIII. What do you think you use it for? SIII means S3, be it either i9300 or i9305.

Update : Alex I used it with the adaptor MHL and it still had no image. The problem was coming from the HDMI cable (I think there is a problem with different HDMI versions)
Now, I have everything working (keyboard or mouse or HDMI) but not at the same time.
I cannot unlock my screen. That is soooo dumb : I tried many times with the mouse or with the keyboard but no luck. It seems to be as simple as pressing ENTER on my S5 but I cannot replicate that on my S3.
It get stucks in the home screen - I said lock before but it is not really a lock...
I am now tring to find a solution using Vysor.
Unfortunately, I dont know how to enable the developer options with no screen Maybe using command line with developer tools... no idea...
It would be easier if you would flash stock with odin, so you have no lock.

So I am trying with ADB tools to use that : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395

RRRRRrrrrrr :crying::crying::crying:
If you have normal OTG connector (I mean just microUSB to USB a female adapter) you can try to use mouse with it. Maybe the MHL hub that You showed in 1st post makes some problems with OTG
