For all people out there worried about Android L
update,
Our device specs definitely supports L. The only
problem is the less internal storage we have
As Android L will run only on ART more storage is
required and upgrade will consume more memory.
We will have less internal storage.
One good hope is with Android L a better ART which
consumes less memory (as art was beta in KitKat, it was not completely flawless.
Android L is going to be a major update by Google in recent years,
so Motorola is now testing few builds related to Android L (not the original L as its not released) to see if it can sustain the major update.
But one this is for sure we will have a lot less internal storage I guess.
But in the END in am Confident #Motorola will release
Android L for us. I hope you understood my point.

i openned this thread to share your opinions and thoughts abour KLP ,
do you guys think we can get the update officialy from sony ?
like xperia X10i ?
i would say it could be possible , because sony updated the x10i from 1.6 to 2.1 and they thought to update to 2.2 Froyo , but they skipped the update ,, and suddenly they released 2.3 GB..
you guys think sony skip JB update and bring us KLP ? , because KLP also requires lesser source and hardware
..
99.99% Sony will not make it for us (they don't even fix current bugs). We can only hope custom roms will work without serious bugs.

Don't expect klp officially, tell me onething how could you expect klp officially,If we get custom Rom also I would be happy when it released, may expect release in October...Google planning to release 4.3 in July no major difference in ui but analysts say lot code changes internally...
It won't happen before all Oems upgrade to 4.3 and afaik Google is giving more time to them and about Klp, I doubt it's possibility on any of our 2011 devices if any of hardware requirements change.... And devs have been or only hope since the early days for our devices.. After all, let's be frank.. SONY just gave us ICS.. But devs provided us with 4.2.2, Ubuntu which I personally had not even imagined of on our little devices

Hey there I'm curious to as if our devices will support android 4.4 KitKat because it includes the new API ActivityManager.isLowRamDevice() ... and that it would work on 512 Mb RAM ... What do u think ... and will there be any development for our devices
KitKat
Chck This link it says Kitkat is designed to run on low memory devices which has 512 MB ram.. So will it possible to run Kitkat on our Devices.http://developer.android.com/about/versions/kitkat.html
i think someone will probably port it for our device if developers gets kernel support and technically yes kitkat is designed to run on 512 mb ram devices

Just so you know... Ram management is terrible on xiaomi redmi 1s with miui. Miui is not suitable for devices with 1gb ram. At least 2gb ram needed if you want to use miui.
Also.. Indian version of redmi 1s has heating problem. It's miui's fault not the hardware. So I installed cm 11 and it's buttery smooth now. Around 400 mb ram always free. Of course, I'm using greenify. ?

Spice dream uno has good specs than moto e. But XDA developers support is much more for moto e. Also, brand name and quality matters.
So should i get Moto E ?
About ROM support, think that Android One is comparatively new so it will take time for developing ROMs for it.
Any body else would like to shine some light on Spice Dream Uno vs Moto E ?
I got 450.-500 MB free ram using cm11 nightly 20
I have the XT1021. With CM11 Snapshot M10, Android RunTime and 128 MB VM Heapsize, I have 600 MB free after boot and around 450 MB with some use.

I know we won't see official Stock Android N 7.0 but I'm wondering about a custom rom hopefully
It's a very unlocked device (with the exception of ATT and VZW models) with a very good spec to Price ratio and an active and skilled dev community. I'd say the odds are good.

I would have to agree. Being a Moto G 2nd gen user myself, and an Ontario Can. resident, I was quite surprised to see an actual official update to 6.0.1 [Wind Mobile] commencing just a few days ago, see my thread. It went from 5.0.2 when released a yr ago, and then an entire year of uncertainty and disappointment with Motorola [see thread: Motorola's failure to meet promises/updates] Then, 2 days ago, @ 1pm --> 6.01.!! With respect to the devs and community in general, I am more than impressed! Considering the phone is less than a hundred bucks, no matter where you are in the world, the amount that has been done and can be done is quite impressive! Mad love and respect to the community!!!

Anyone know what I need to do next? I d/l'd it, but did not install yet.
.
Am surprised and pleased at the same time too see a discussion thread already on Android N for this device. Having just started using the stable Cyanogenmod release I would be glad to see N someday down the line on the device.
The device is still an extremely good buy for the budget users, especially in the emerging markets. I see myself using the device as my daily driver for a year and a half down the line. The new lease of life that M has given it, I don't see a reason to switch to another device at this particular point in time. Plus, phones of this particular dimension are slowly disappearing off the market, which is not the best of developments, so, since someone like me only uses the device for communication, browsing, light social media, some pictures. Considering how media consumption on phones never really made sense to me, bigger devices never have either.
Well, we'll have to wait for CyanogenMod 14.

What's the hurry with everyone getting impatient with wanting to know when CM14 will be releasted???
I'm lead to believe that we won't see any port of CM14 until N goes official, probably on September.
I can see a partial working port for surnia by end of the year.
I want to elaborate I'm no expert and i base my comments on what I've read here on XDA and other android sites.
Moto e second gen WILL NOT get an official port of N, full stop.
I'm hoping some of our esteemed developers may lend a word on their thoughts about this.
I started a thread asking this question as I couldn't find this one, and im glad I've found it and already we have a great discussion going.
As a side point, I still own and use a first gen moto e as my work phone, its running CM13 and people are also asking if that device will see CM14, nice to see the interest not waning!

Its not BS its a well known fact that RR is cyanogenmod based.
Your assumption that CM is garbage is based on you using a cyanogenmod ROM with some very good extras........
I think that's quite ironic and a little amusing!
While you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, and I respect your opinion, let me tell you that I'm a big RR fan and a current user, up until a few days ago.
Ive been using RR with no major issues right up until 5.7 came out.
I had major issues with the new release, and I'm not using it anymore because of a sudden and complete loss of my data, music, photos and contacts.
I now also have a corrupted and unusable SD card, my contacts have disappeared off Google, off the phone and my sim now doesn't even work, the contacts having disappeared off there too, its been a complete disaster [emoji27]
Read the RR for surnia thread and you will see I'm not the only person who's had this problem.
Something has gone majorally wrong with the update, and unfortunately I've now moved away from RR and back to CM13, and yes, it could have happened whilst using CM13 but it hasn't.
While I love RR nothing else just works like CM13, and I've never had a sudden loss of all my data or any major problems.
You can disagree and laugh at me, but to loose personal, important and special things in the blink of an eye and then take almost three days to get my surnia working again is putting me off re flashing RR.
I'm sorry if my rather passionate post was off topic, as you all can probably tell I'm annoyed and hacked off I've lost everything off my SD, and I did not have a back up because I had only had the SD card less than two weeks!
