350 with cm
Sent from my XT1022 using xda premium

Thats pretty low isnt it ? any way to make it better ? what about stock ?

420 with cm11 and greenify!

Thats good but what about stock ?

actually you need not worry about the free ram..android works a totally different way in this case..

Was actually comparing Redmi 1s and moto E in terms of ram management and free ram available. what would you comment on the working of RAM in MIUI ?

I'm nearly getting 530-550 MB in stock using xposed, greenify.

Rooted??? How to exposed greenify.

Well im thinking of buying an Android One. What about Spice Dream Uno vs Moto E ?

Just so you know... Ram management is terrible on xiaomi redmi 1s with miui. Miui is not suitable for devices with 1gb ram. At least 2gb ram needed if you want to use miui.
Also.. Indian version of redmi 1s has heating problem. It's miui's fault not the hardware. So I installed cm 11 and it's buttery smooth now. Around 400 mb ram always free. Of course, I'm using greenify. ?
Sent from my Redmi 1S with cm11 using XDA Free mobile app

Ram just after boot:- around 500mb
Ram after using some apps then closing all of them:- around 400mb. Using cm11.

Spice dream uno has good specs than moto e. But XDA developers support is much more for moto e. Also, brand name and quality matters.

So should i get Moto E ?
About ROM support, think that Android One is comparatively new so it will take time for developing ROMs for it.
Any body else would like to shine some light on Spice Dream Uno vs Moto E ?

I got 450.-500 MB free ram using cm11 nightly 20

I have the XT1021. With CM11 Snapshot M10, Android RunTime and 128 MB VM Heapsize, I have 600 MB free after boot and around 450 MB with some use.

Info about buying sola.

I'm thinking about buying xperia sola. I come from xperia 2011 community where 100's of ROM's are available. I want to know the dev support on this device. also info about jelly bean ( IS it available? if not, then any future possibilities?)
Jelly will not be officially available.
It might be ported once it gets released for Xperia P.
If you are okay with the JB issue, you can buy the phone. Its an excellent device. You can also consider buying Xperia P

Xperia P is a bit more expensive but I'll see if I can get my hands on a used one. Is 512 MB RAM enough with dual core processor? My single core xperia mini lags a lot with ICS and JB

No. It's not enough, firstly it will fly, but after installing a bunch of apps it will start lagging bla bla bla, so go ahead and buy 1gb ram phone

i have used xperia sola for 5 moths (UL bootloader and root), imo this device is handle daily job (sms, call, whatsapp, etc) not so good. lag after you install too many program especially when someone call (need 2-3 seconds for the answer display appear), but overall (gaming, music, browsing) is good. and FYI 512 MB ram only accessible around 384 MB by the device, so don't expect it too much
If u don't care about having the latest software then its worth the buy. Because anything beyond 4.1 is uncertain.

For me better you buy a phone that have at least 1 gb ram..i have used xsola for 5 month and my review is it cannot handle daily app like whatsapp facebook and etc smoothly....512mb ram is not enough...

FXP release cm9.1 rom at weekly pace, quite good dev support
But, I have lost faith in sony mobile cause my sola has random hang/reboot issue.
Still I'm not sure about the reason, maybe hadware/RAM/NAND, maybe carrier/SIM, maybe software.
It's a pretty good looking, and UI well designed, but I plan to buy a Lumia to replace it.
Just FYI.
The phone is nice.. not as bad as the above repliers. I used stock rom, eXperience v2, CM 9 based, and now Project GX v2.1. IMO The last one really stood out. I have installed many apps inlcluding Currents, Fb, Fb mssger, TOI, Pulse, Flipboard and half of them stay on my Homescreen. Still no lag. Much better roms will come out.
Otherwise there is always the HTC Desire X.
the incoming call will lag when you are playing games or surfing internet.
I faced this problem.
And i got a missed call cause the answer the call didn't show up and my phone ringing but i can't do anything... :/
others ok,this phone not bad.
if you want better go for Xperia P or Xperia L (latest)

My Sola runs daily tasks quite well. I even play heavy games like NFS MW and GTA VC.
First thing, this stock ROM is ****. The lag in Call and messaging app is because they are inefficient and bulky.
Use other ROMs, eXDialer, Junk cleaner script, and everything's going good.
I usually get 100 mb free Ram.
Ps. One thing. I always keep FB frozen when not using. In titanium backup

go to gsmarena and c wht sony has planned for this year
I've sold my sola after 8 months of lag and got a used galaxy s2 for the same price and i'm very happy with it, think about this option

Alright I'll see if I can get my hands on any used phone with 1 GB RAM.
dont ever go for a phone that is not based on snapdragon SoC. Check before you buy. Dont repeat the mistake that I did. Cause none of the soc manufacturers provide support like qualcomm does. put in a few extra bucks and you wont repent later

good decision, you dont have to worry for a year or two at max, it may not get the latest software officially but it has awesome developer support.

yes, it has official 4.1.2 and now i'm running cm10.1 and it's terrific
I recommend choosing xperia s... U have dual core up to 1,9 ghz at least 8 mpixels camera(cant remember exactly) and it has more ppi I think... I would easily swap my sola for it... Even if I had to pay some money I think it is worth it...

Go for Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus. Trust me you wont regret buying a Micromax.
Price 10,700/-
1.2ghz quad core processor
1gb ram
8mp autofocus cam
Jelly bean 4.2 out of the box.
I'm using it since 3 months and trust me i'm extremely satisfied.
Another option for you is Micromax A92 Canvas Lite.
Price 8500/-
1.2ghz dual core processor
512mb ram
5mp fixed focus cam.
Jelly bean 4.1 outnof the box.
My dad is using this handset since last 3 months and its an equally good phone for the price.
Both the phones are extremely well built and it does not feel cheap.
Go ahead and check it for yourself.
Good luck!

welll....I heard a lot about both canvas and canvas HD but I'm not sure about its scope in customizations. How about its custom recovery, roms and mods? I would hate to use the stock rom without any personalization and mods.

and guys, Thanks for helping me with this!

Doubts on Android L on moto e

For all people out there worried about Android L
update,
Our device specs definitely supports L. The only
problem is the less internal storage we have
As Android L will run only on ART more storage is
required and upgrade will consume more memory.
We will have less internal storage.
One good hope is with Android L a better ART which
consumes less memory (as art was beta in KitKat, it was not completely flawless.
Android L is going to be a major update by Google in recent years,
so Motorola is now testing few builds related to Android L (not the original L as its not released) to see if it can sustain the major update.
But one this is for sure we will have a lot less internal storage I guess.
But in the END in am Confident #Motorola will release
Android L for us. I hope you understood my point.

plus Android L will support SD card permission.

[ASK] Redmi Note 4x Mediatek Custom ROM Suggestion

Hello guys,
as we know the mediatek CPU is kinda laggy for playing games,
i wanna ask what is the best custom ROM for this device?
it's just so sad the 64 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM device can't maintain games like Mobile Legend or PUBG just because some kind thermal function . I really appreciate if any of you guys would recommend the custom ROM.
Best Regards,
