"Upgrade" stock 4.1.2 ROM to 4.4.2, possible? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I just wanted to know if it was possible to upgrade a ROM (for the Huawei Ascend P2) from version 4.1.2 to either 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 or something similar.
As you may know no one has developed any custom ROMs for this phone and at the moment we have nothing more than a P6 ROM running on the P2 (which excludes functionality of getting signal, speaker audio, headphone audio and lacks the functionality of the actual buttons on the phone, the ones below the screen)
If this was possible could someone give me some pointers on how to do it? All I need is like a reference guide or tutorial.. I don't mind doing the work myself as I want to get into android development. I consider this my 1st project.
Thank you.

Most likely Huawei never put out the source code for it meaning unless there is a sister phone to it you can port from then not much else to do.

[Q] how can I help with this project?

*edit* sorry, didn't notice general warning, please move to Q&A
I migrated from SGS i9000 to a huawei G700 phone featuring a mtk6589 chipset.
Sadly, the android version limits the possibilities of the phone really hard: it's oriented towards users who play nicely with their phone, not towards me!
so, to keep a long story short, I'd like CM to be ported to this device. this is not a top-of-the-line product, so I'll certainly have to do it myself.
I already got the complete OS image, kernel properties, installed applications, and so on (boot.img, uboot.img, ...), locally installed here.
the question is: where to go from here? In your guides, I can follow what the developers explain to do and why they are doing it, but I got no idea how to convert this OS image into a CM image ...
Also, as there are apparently developers waiting for mtk6859 roms, should I send them a message asking for their help? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2375957
the only issue here is that I can't contact them yet because of the noob limit.

KitKat on custom device

Hello,
I am pretty sure this is a fairly common question and everyone would like to have kk on his device. I can use google to find out most of the tasks i am about to do, but i have to ask first.
I have a pretty anonymous device, a Chinese phone, rebranded in Europe. It features a hardware similar to this: mediatek MT6577
However the manufacturers only released a 4.0.4 ICS Android for it, and the comunity managed to develop a 4.2.2 JB. It is important to know that other manufacturers have rebranded this phone as well.
It is known as Allview p5 duo, Fly IQ441, and other brands.
What would i need to make a kitkat image for this model? How hard is it to "port" a 4.0.4 kernel to 4.4? What tools would i need, and also what knowledge?
I hope some dev sees this post, sheds some light over the issue and points me in the right direction. I really want to learn about Android OS developement and i feel this is the best way.
Thank you !

[Q] Upgrading a Handset OS from ICS to Jellybean

I might be talking out of the sky, but here it goes,
I have a handset Xolo X900 which was abandoned and I want to help out everyone whose Handsets were abandoned by the Companies but still able to run on latest Software so Here is my General Question
Suppose I have a Set with some version of Android and I want to upgrade it to latest , but the Phone Hardware vendor wont release it or upgrade it.
I want to be able to use the Android Source Code from Google to create a ROM or an Upgrade and bring the Handset to the Latest Version
I suppose It needs a lot but would be helpful if get some guidance from the Community to be able be free from the Vendor provided Updates for our System ,
I am ready for a Deep Dive to achieve this , but not able to find the correct Tools or Guide. , Please advice

Yes , its an x86 Android. I wonder if I can flash latest Android on it.
Its far fetched, but I wont mind trying if , someone hints on where to begin.
Custom rom will the biggest issue.
I have not found much resources on how to build one. Just couple of people who launch it and then we all use it.

[noob questions] ROM/Kernel - building/porting

I’ll start by admiting that, in the arts of cooking/building/porting android innards, I’m closer to being a complete noob than na intermediate user.
I own a Newman K1S, JB 4.2.2, MT6592, 2Gb/16Gb, 720p, and, sadly for me, it looks like the manufacturer (Newman Mobile, or Newsmy, who knows) pretty much disavows any knowledge of this model ever being built or sold. No reference to it, no community, no android updates or ROM releases.
Taking into account some MediaTek source codes for KitKat were made available earlier this year (even if unofficially), I was wondering:
So, question number 1 – Is it possible to build android 4.4 for my device straight from said sources? Or are they unreliable and it would be best not to attempt it?
And question number 2 – Being at the noob level, should I stay away from such a task? And, in this case, would I be better off porting a 4.4 ROM from a similar spec’ed device?
Also, while browsing needrom, I noticed that a 4.4 “official” ROM was posted for my device. However, having flashed it, I found that it produces no sounds from the external speaker (although with headphones it works fine). Same thing was experienced by other users, and there is no fix so far.
Which takes me to question number 3 – What may I try, in order to fix an issue like this? Does KK use the same sound drivers as JB, and maybe it’s only a matter of replacing them? (if so, I believe this is within my grasp, even if I must unpack the IMG files to reach the drivers)
Lastly, Newman K1S has a severe overheating problem when pushed, which I believe would be easily solved by underclocking it to 1.3 or 1.5, or maybe implementing an optimized kernel.
Final question – How do I manage to underclock with my current kernel, or, better yet, how do I port a custom, optimized kernel to my device?
Congratulations to everyone who managed to read this far, and thank you in advance for any help provided. I’ve spent the last few days reading tutorials and guides, only to become even more confused… I did manage to get android kitchen running on my Windows laptop, though!
Links to recent/updated guides that might be useful are appreciated, too.

[Help] Custom ROM help. (Can get paid)

Hey.
I know I have old phone, I'm going to buy 6P in future and use this for testing.
So, my phone is Huawei G730-U10
You cannot get kernel source so forget about newer Android versions.
Its running Android 4.2.2 with EMUI 2.0
Processor is MT6582 or MTK6582 call it whatever you want.
I want to get custom ROM for it, I already have coloros and miui but they're full of bugs.
Most likely CyanogenMod but I couldn't find JB CM for mt6582 to port it. I'd like to get any of roms like CM, ParanoidAndroid and others.
If not possible at least give this phone full look and feel of Lollipop or Marshmallow. I can't even recompile framework because of Huawei thingies in it (It's exceeding too many bytes).
Help will be greatly appreciated, if it's too hard I'm ready to pay some amount of money (Not too crazy like 15$)
Anyone out there?
