Accidentally tapped install update because the annoying polyp had been coming at me for days. It ruined towelroot and made all of my apps useless. I wiped the cache and did a factory reset, but I am too late. Removing the battery during update didn't help either. Can someone post a download link to an older version so I can downgrade???
version before??

I'm currently on Viper DNA 1.1.0 and I'd like to be on 1.1.3 but every time I try to update from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 i get stuck at the HTC screen after installing it. Any idea why this happens? I"m doing the whole factory reset, system wipe, dalvik wipe 3 times each and I didn't have any problems when I did this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re download and verify md5 after the download. Especially if you are using the ota to get the update. Just go to the forum and try again.
Hi there,
I have a rooted International version of S3. I recently saw that sammobiles posted the 4.3 version update for S3. So I went ahead and dowloaded the same. I installed the updates using odin Iniitially everything seemed fine. But on closer look I noticed that several options were either missing or greyed out. For eg: The option to add widgets to my home screen is greyed out.
Also when I go to about device tab I can see that the Android version which mentions 4.3 is greyed out.
Could you please help me enable these. Because I am pretty sure I downloaded the right version and installed the updates correctly too.
Thanks in advance !!
Download the full stock rom, not just an update. Check the md5 of your download. Do a full wipe, including format internal sd card then reflash. Factory reset from recovery, before first boot, then test before you install/restore any apps or mods.

Hey boomboomer,
I think I downloaded the entire stock rom as the md5 was like 1.5 gigs. Also could you let me know how to do a factory reset before moving forward?

OK, let me narrow down my issue. My main issue is that the " Lock Screen Widget " option that we see under "My Device" is greyed out. How can I activate that. Please help as this is one of the major attractions that made me update my android version.

Hey I found it. It seems in order to add multiple widgets to the lock screen you need to have your home screen on standard mode rather than on dynamic mode.
wipe data..its work dude.
im using carbon rom on my xperia s. i clicked on the update section in the settings and says it is up to date. when i looked at the forums it is already updated and my beta version is already outdated. do i need to do a manual update? and how?

Could be the OTA Updater is broken, or they have not uploaded it to their servers to push the OTA out. Whether or not you NEED to depends on if you are having issues that should be fixed in the update or there are some new features that are listed in the Changelog for the update that you want to try. The installation instructions are right on the first post of the first page of the thread for Carbon Rom here on XDA. Download. Backup. Wipe. Install Rom+Gapps. Reboot. If you want, you can try and be lazy and just wipe the cache and dalvik cache then install the rom and gapps without factory resetting. Benefit: Not needing to reset up phone completely - called dirty flashing. Downside: You can't complain or report issues if you dirty flash. You have to wipe and reinstall rom and then have the same exact issue to make sure it's not an problem with leftover data that is corrupted or otherwise interfering with normal operations.
Hi, my Ultra GPE did receive the notice for the 5.0 OTA update originally, I chose to wait a bit before installing. However now the notice is gone (has been gone since around the 16th) and going through system update my 4.4.4 is considered the most recent version. I tried clearing cache but that did not bring the notice back. Has this happened to any one else?
thanks

I think I did see someone that had the same issue, I think in the end they manually downloaded it and flashed from stock recovery
Running No-Name ROM for 5+ months.
OTA downloaded 6 days ago.
Moved OTA file to Ext. SD
Disabled Update with debloater.
All was fine until yesterday... Woke up to dead phone battery.
Tonight, the LG shutdown sound woke me up!
When I looked, the phone had rebooted itself into TWRP!!!
Apparently, this will happen nightly now in perpetuity unless one of you geniuses can fix it.
Try wiping Dalvik & Cache. Maybe fix permissions.
Also wouldnt hurt to update TWRP.
Or try a new Rom.
Did all that. Running latest TWRP already. Won't know if it's fixed for 24 hours.
