Running No-Name ROM for 5+ months.
OTA downloaded 6 days ago.
Moved OTA file to Ext. SD
Disabled Update with debloater.
All was fine until yesterday... Woke up to dead phone battery.
Tonight, the LG shutdown sound woke me up!
When I looked, the phone had rebooted itself into TWRP!!!
Apparently, this will happen nightly now in perpetuity unless one of you geniuses can fix it.
Try wiping Dalvik & Cache. Maybe fix permissions.
Also wouldnt hurt to update TWRP.
Or try a new Rom.
Did all that. Running latest TWRP already. Won't know if it's fixed for 24 hours.

Woke up this morning, unplugged my touchpad, and turned it on. And it's stuck in a bootloop. I've been using it daily since release and updated to the latest alpha at its release.
It's stuck on the cm7 boot animation.
I've rebooted it multiple times. No luck.

Have the same problem right now again, last time I got this I had to reinstall the system and it was so frustrating....
I'm on the same situation today for no reason ..It was working fine for over a month. Any way to solve this without reinstall ... I know alpha 3 is out so just want to update... if I'm on webos how can I get to "sd card" folder to put alpha 3 file for upgrade ?
Never mind, fixed it... transfer alpha 3 file in to root of touchpad from webos and reboot to cwm , wiped cache and dalvik cache, install zip file from sd card ..choose the latest alpha 3 zip file .. then install and reboot.. that took care of cm7 endless bootloop and got alpha 3 installed as well....
Mentioning you have a bootloop and not giving the output of logcat helps no one.
Total wipe/reinstalled to fix it, right before alpha3 got released, kinda pissed at the timing.

So I flash the Ics update (LPQ) last friday and all went well, my phone was working perfectly. However on sunday my phone kept freezing and the only was to get it working again was to pull the battery. So because of this i decided to go back to GB and wiped everything and flask a stock firmware (KI8) which is my carrier firmware. Now my phone keeps turns off every 10 minutes or so any it is really annoying. It only seems to happen when the phone is not plugged in to charge and I have tested it out and it doesn't tend to happen in flight mode either. At the moment I have wiped the phone completely and haven't even installed an app yet it is still happening. Has anyone got a clue what this could be as its driving me mad.
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem, i updated to ICS and now my phone reboots every 2 / 30mins.
I tryed lots of roms and now downgraded to a 2.3.3 stock rom, with re-partition, no SDcard .. but still ... it reboots itself a lot .
The strange thing is that it reboots when left alone, the sgs2 can stay up for 3h+ when it plays music on GoogleMusic ...
Oh, and i also tryed with a new samsung 2000mah battery kit, still no changes, so it's not a battery problem
I had this problem with GB 2.3.5 stock firmware. After flashing custom ICS - Lite'ning Rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274 , the problem disappeared. Of course I did full wipe of device before flashing.
Thanks, Ill try flash lightning later when i get home. As i think that it is something to do with the radio I have also tried flashing a new modem (KE7) but that did not solve the issue either. It there any app that can monitor processes so that i can look at what is happening just before it turns off.
I had this when I was using MIUI. I flashed Spikes Pure ICS yesterday and haven't noticed it since.
Strange, I had this issue on GB, and not on ICS. Try flashing some different roms, full wipes of course, and see if that helps

i did a factory reset by using the *2767*3855# command , then i went to the recovery to format data/system/cache/sdcard/emmc .
Still, no luck and getting reboots
Last night I flashed both lite'ning ron and Check rom. Did a full wipe before both and I am still getting reboots and freezes. Think Ill have to get a jig and bring it back to the shop
So just to update. The latest think i have tried is changing the modem to KE3 and I tried the speedmod kernel and the syriah kernel. Still having the freezing issue. Have also tried a kernel cleaner but to no avail. Anything else I should try before bringing it back. Thanks
Why dont you try to install a stock rom, then root it, and within CWM recovery wipe everything, then reinstall your stock rom thru odin
Have tried flashing the stock firmware 2.3.5 KI7 and wiped the cache, the dalvick cache and factory reset the phone before but that didnt work. Is there specific firmwares that will wipe everything?
Corrupt SD can sometimes also cause random reboots. Do you have an external SD on top of the included internal SD? Try formatting them both. Start fresh.

i agree with you i tried this method last year and it worked,, you should try this and if doesnt work format your phone system wipe data, wipe cache , wipe dalvik for a very fresh start..
Yes I thought it could have been the sd card to so I removed it from from the phone and formatted the internal memory, then wiped the dalvik cache, the cache and the phone and flashed a new rom but my phone started to freeze after about 20 minutes. Its weird originally my phone was Freeze and wouldnt wake from sleep, then it would just randomly reboot and now its back to freezing and not waking from sleep
I would try KH3 rom. For me that was the most stable GB rom

Verizon Galaxy Note II SCH-I605
Android Version: 4.1.1
Rooted and using Jelly Bean's Build 7 since January with no problems.
I've used this phone for everything imaginble since rooting it without an issue. Tonight it started an endless reboot cycle.
I wiped the cache and delvik cache. reboot loop continued.
I restored to a backup from February and it seemed ok, but it only lasted about a minute longer than before it rebooted and started the reboot loop again.
Suggestions? Please? Help? I love this phone.
same here; it kept rebooting
I have been running Beans v.21 for a week with NO problems. Last night it started the reboot loop. It doesn't really reboot the phone, it seems like it is rebooting the GUI. I tried clearing cache but that did not help. I ended up having to wipe and re-install. Now I am kind of afraid of this build and would like to find a more stable one. I do not mess up much with my settings. I just wanted a lite system without bloatware. I do not want to go through setting up my phone every week.

I would post this in the development thread but I have too little of a post count.
Let me preface by saying I love this FW and wholly enjoy it except for one fatal flaw. If my phone is shut off and I attempt to reboot the Samsung logo appears as usual then nothing more, just a black screen. However if I go in to recovery and wipe user data/factory reset it will boot just fine. I attempted to one by one try to bypass this problem by wiping; cache, dalvic cache, battery stats, and fixing permissions all of which did not work.
Any ideas on how I could use this fw without having to wipe my phone every time I want to switch batteries?

You must be installing an incompatible APP when it boots. . try and figure out which one it is.

FW=Firmware
I want to say I used devhost, however I will try to re-flash with the fw from both sources to try and fix it in that fashion.
An app that isn't compatible...sounds like finding a needle in a haystack, maybe I could just uninstall every app I have currently and try a reboot to see what happens? If that works I could install reinstall my apps two at a time until it will no longer boot?
Dunno if it makes a difference but I have plenty of storage space on my phones internal and external SD card memory. I just have heard that lack of space (sub 300mb) can cause all sorts of funky issues.
Thanks I appreciate it guys, I can't try reflashing for a day because I am at my girlfriend's and her macbook pro will NOT hook up to either of our Samsung phones no matter how much we play around with settings and drivers....ugh think different my butt.

FIRMWARE...................DUH
knew it was probably something simple.
just used to people saying ROM
even the developer states he flashes his ROM twice (at least) cause he can get 2 different reactions on his phone.
I updated my Cyanogenmod version to the night lies to improve the screen flicker issue and it has been really stable until the other day. As of about 1 week ago I have had random crashes. It seems to be related to whatsapp and certainly when I try and come out of standby. Today I noticed that it just crashed when receiving a phone call. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling whatsapp and I've wiped dalvik cache a few times. Do I need to do a factory wipe and start a fresh ?
Cheers

After the phone kept crashing I decided to go ahead with a wipe factory reset and it seems to have improved. Still slightly nervous coming out of standby but I'll see.

Friend, I am also having the same problem, whenever I enter the Whatsapp or do anything linked to it catches everything and have to restart the phone. Managed to solve your problem?

After wipe data/factory reset, clearing dalvik cache and wiping cache then re-installing the ROM and GApps I rebooted and it went a bit weird but has since seemed to have been fixed. I had previously installed Greenify app which also I don't think helped. So I would suggest doing a complete re-install.
Cheers
