[Q] Custom ROM for Versus Touchtab 10.1" Tablet and Problems reading SD card - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tablet: VERSUS TOUCHTAB 10.1" DUAL CORE 16GB TABLET ANDROID 4.1 BLUETOOTH
I bought this tablet about a year ago, but I have not really used it because I have an iPad but recently I thought of using it and it was running slow. It was also complaining about memory. I bought a new microSD card but it is not allowing me to save apps to it. I have made sure device is rooted and can access card on PC so microSD card is. Anytime I move to SD always moving to NAND flash memory and not SD. I thought a change of ROM might help with SD issue and also increase speed of tablet. I am currently using jellybean 4.1 and will not let me upgrade through the normal process.
PS. If anyone could suggest a fast ROM compatible with my device would be grateful and also quick guide on how to put new ROM on tablet because not done it before.

Nook tablet root

So I have a nook tablet that I've recently purchased. Its the basic nook tablet with minimal on board storage. Its got a 16GB micro SD. I want to root it, but I dont know which option is going to be the best. I have rooted droids, but never the nook. Completely new to it and dont feel like screwing it up and bricking it. Anyone have advice on where to start, which root I should use and what works best?
Is it the 8GB internal memory with 512mb ram model? Or the 16gb internal, 1GB ram model?
the original tablet with 16gb 1gb

let me know if you run into problems
just remember you don't have to replace any image file you just write brianf21's img to the sd card using the tool provided (this will all make sense once you read steps)
All of us started somewhere looking at development section and pick what better suit our needs, for that you have to read. The simplest way is AlbertWertz sdcard root method, if you mess up somehow then ask and we will help you to troubleshoot but for the basics first ask yourself what are your needs if a full tablet experience or B&N experience (apps) then pick one ROM, flash it and all should go well if you read instructions to the t.
Happy rooting!

[Q] Newbie help. Upgraded to a Nook Tablet for a 5 year old.

So last year as many friends were buying leapad leapfrog tablets for their kids, I got my 4 year a nook color and installed cyangenmod 7. This Christmas, I purchased a nook tablet so that my 3 year old could get the nook color and stop fighting with my now 5 year old. However, I'm still a newbie when it comes to rooting and have a few questions. The tablet will be used to access netflix, watch dvd rips, and play games
1. Are class 4 cards still the recommended cards to get and would a 32gb microsd card be ok or would the Nook Tablet only recognize a certrain amount? I was looking at the class 10 cards as they don't seem much different in price from the class 4 cards.
2. Can the internal memory be accessed and used for storage once I have rooted and installed a custom rom (while keeping the Nook Tablet stock if I decide to pull the microsd card out.) I purchased a 16gb Nook Tablet.
3. So i'm looking at installing CM10 until CM10.1 is further tested and video issues sorted out. I've been reading several posts on the forum and came across this which looks fairly descriptive.

If I follow these directions using a brand new Nook Tablet, I won't need to do anything further?
Are there 1 click files to automate some of the procedures?
4. So assume I have CM10 installed and I later want to upgrade to CM10.1, how would I go about this. Is there a program like Rom Manager that would make it easy?
5. Would I have to reinstall all my apps if I decide to move from CM10 to CM10.1 in the future?
6. (more related to my Nook Color and HTC EVO) I have CM7 installed on a 16gb SD card but would like to try out CM10. What's the best procedure for the upgrade. And just like question 5, would I have to reinstall my app or should i say the kids games.
Thanks for all the help. My kid keeps asking me if I already "modded" the device so they can start playing with it.

Assuming you have only one NT in the household, a much simpler method is to download a pre-made CM10 SD card image from http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/ and write the image to your card.

You can use Titanium Backup to backup your apps prior to upgrade and then restore them following the upgrade.

You'll need to research and ask questions on the forums specific to these two devices, but I'd suggest that you back up the CM7 card image if you plan to use the same card for CM10.
Thanks for all the help. My kid keeps asking me if I already "modded" the device so they can start playing with it.

Let your kids play with the device in stock form so that you can take your time to do more research -- they will have a much longer wait if you rush and make mistakes.

[Q] Hipstreet Flare 2 Tablet 9DTB7 - need help rooting

Hi there!
I have some problems with my new cheap-o tablet I got from Walmart.
Maybe someone can help me out (I know very little about computers and such)
1. The tablet is supposed to have 8GB memory, but when I am installing apps, I am running out of it, I dont understand? is the internal memory that low? (I have only 345mb left now) and I cant move anything to the SD or to the 8GB that the tablet has.
2. I had rooted my phone in the past (Samsung) with no problems. I am trying to root my tablet to be able to free some internal memory and be able to install apps in the SD card... but it seems I cant find a suitable root tool to do this. Could you recommend me what to do?
Other than that, I added a keyboard to this tablet ($24.99 at Staples) and it works pretty well !For being a cheap tablet I dont have complains, but I would like to be able to free the memory to add some more apps.
Thanks for the help!

Hi, I have the same tablet and I have a solution for this:
1) Go to Play Store
2) Download an app named "SDFix..."
3) Your problem should now be fixed

Uhappy UP620 HELP!

Ok everyone, Damsel in distress here.
I've had an iPhone 4 (don't hate me) for the past 3 years now, just the other day I decided to upgrade and purchased a Uhappy UP620.
Great phone, vast improvement to what I previously had. There's just a slight problem that I can't seem to find a root guide for this phone.
I'm having problems trying to move apps from internal storage to my SD card and I've tried to download the APP2SD and also reformat the SD card, but no luck. Read somewhere deep in the dwellings of the internet that rooting the phone might work and seeing though its my last option that I haven't tried, I'm willing to give it a go.
Android 4.4.2 operating system with 1.7 Ghz MTK6592 Octa-core processor and 1 GB RAM+8GB ROM
tl;dr rooting guide for Uhappy UP620??
Cheers.
