I hope someone can suggest some ideas. I've been trying for months to get the alarm notifications to work on my Verizon S3. I've spent hours and hours for month after month looking at the forums, and have not been able to fix it- I really, really would like to get this to work!
The problem is, I never get alarm reminders for either:
- time to leave/traffic alerts when I have upcoming appointments
- reminders based on location
I've tried everything I know of in the book- I need an expert to please help me get this working!!! Either I'm doing something really stupid and missing something, I have some setting(s) wrong, or Google Now is somehow broken for me. Sorry for the frustration...
I'm running a Verizon S3, with 4.2.1 and recently I rooted the phone (the notifications have not worked since before nor after the rooting- I did it for other reasons).
PLEASE HELP!!!
Please- any suggestions? I'm willing to start at the basics (in case I missed something) all the way to the complex. I really could use some advise on getting the alarms to work on Google Now notifications...
I've had the same thing happening for about 2 months now (from August 2013), and even with factory wipes and firmware flashes it hasn't come back to me. :/ It's worked once or twice but I haven't figured out if I had done anything before hand to get it back. Then afterwards it stopped working again.
Same for me yet. I've hard reset both my S3 and my Nexus 7, and not luck. Rarely do I get any notices, and if I happen to, it's not at the right time. Must be on Google's end on my account or something. Very, very disappointing, with little hope if it's not specific to the device...
Me too! Try this....

Also happening to me on my Note 3 t-mobile. I have flashed many roms. I even reverted back to stock, and did an OTA update to 4.4.2 and so forth.
The only thing that made a difference was if I sign in to Google Now using my backup Google account, then IT WORKS! So I think that Google is having problems on the back end. There is absolutely no difference between my Google accounts. Why would one work and one not work? I've been posting it all over the web and Google tech support. You should too!
Solution Found
I found a solution to the problem. After being a die-hard advocate for Android, I gave up about 6 months ago and bought an iPhone. It works wonderfully, and does everything it's supposed to, when and where it is supposed to. Reception and voice recognition are better than my S3 was too. I've given up a few things (customization, screen size, etc.), but I finally have a phone that just works. I can add apps, delete them, change settings, etc., and things don't get screwed up; and I don't have to hard reset and start over with my phone again. Plus, most of the Google apps are available on the iphone, including Google Now.
I may look at Android again when version 5.0 comes out; but even with that, if it's my account that's messed up, I doubt I will ever get it fixed...
I really liked Android, but I finally got soooo tired of having to spend so much time getting it to work...
Google now reminders not working possible solution
Okay so I purchased a phone LG G Flex unlocked from T-mobile and using on Metro PCS two weeks ago, prior to this phone I had a Note 3 and used Google Now to set remianders with no problems. When I activated my FLEX and started using google now it did not remind me, i could see the reminders on google cards but no notification and or finger with string in the notification bar to actually remind me. I was really bummed and fustrated as I depend on the reminder function alot. Not having any luck getting Google Now remainders to work I started searching for other apps simular to it, just something to remind me. But funny enough all the others application I found on the app store would do the same thing NO reminders, so I started thinking it may not actually be Google Now but something on my phone. I finally found an application called Robin that did work but gave me my reminders about 2 or three mins before or after the set time, nevertheless it was working but early or late notifications still bothered me. So i decided to turn off the automatic time zone/Network provider time and Automatic date and time/Network provided time and that did the trick for me. I started up Google Now and set like a hundred reminders to test it and they all came in on time. I dont know if the phone being unlocked and used on another network made the network time buggy but as long as I keep the automatic date and time off it works well. I dont know if this is the solution for everyone but it was for me. hope this help.
Fantastic and detailed reply- thanks!
I also switched phones, now I'm on a LG G3 (love the phone)! I seem to be getting almost all of my notifications now, but I'll try to pay a little more attention to it, and keep your suggestion in mind if I'm having any troubles. Thanks again for the information!

Can Google now show reminders while offline? I know I cant set or delete a reminder offline. But can it remind for an already set reminder offline?
Up until a few days ago I had a Note 4 running CM12.1 and every now and then the volume would suddenly drop down a level. I couldn't notice any pattern to it, it happened whether the screen was on or off, playing music or playing a game, running through speaker or headphones etc. I put up with it since I was getting a new phone pretty soon anyway.
Fast forward to today when I've finished setting up my Note 5. For some reason this is doing the same thing! Volume drops down one level. I can't imagine why as I set this up as a totally fresh device, not copying any settings or apps across from my old phone.
My first instinct was to get a logcat for it. I started recording, swapped to an app that played sounds so I'd hear any changes (it seems to happen randomly and I don't want to have to watch my phone and wait for it) and within ten seconds it happened so I immediately swapped back to Catlog and saved the recording. Only problem is it's 3378 lines long and I have no idea what I'm looking for so there's not much I can do with it. Kinda hoping someone who knows how to read logcat can tell me what's causing this.
Here's a pastebin of the log: http://pastebin.com/HEtsYtU8
It happens towards the bottom, within the last 3 seconds. I've had a look myself but like I said nothing really stands out since I don't know what to look for. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also experienced this issue on both my Retail Verizon Note 3 and Note 2 phones. This issue only started for me about a week ago. I suspected it was caused by a recent update to one of my Android Wear apps, because that was the only common thread I had between the 2 phones. I looked through your logcat and found where you are using Wear Mini Launcher, just like I am.
There were a couple of lines in your logcat that caught my attention.....particularly the line - 09-11 20:19:38.181 D/AudioService(3769): setStreamVolume:3 index:0flags:1 package:com.npi.wearminilauncher
I checked and found that the Wear Mini Launcher was updated about a week ago (around the same time this issue started). I played with Wear Mini Launcher settings to see if there was something I could toggle off regarding media volume, but didn't see anything... so I uninstalled Wear Mini Launcher and rebooted the phone. I tested out the media volume and no longer had the "random volume dropping" issue after uninstalling Wear Mini Launcher.
I love having Wear Mini Launcher for my Sony Smartwatch, so I Googled and found the older 4.0.4 version that was working well before the most recent update. (You can grab it here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/nicola...ear-mini-launcher-4-0-4-android-apk-download/ ). I don't think it should be a problem to post this link in XDA because the app is free on the Play Store and this should be the exact same signed app that the Developer released in June 2015.
After installing the older version of Wear Mini Laucher, I'm still no longer having the "volume dropping" issue, and I've got Wear Mini Launcher working well for my Sony Smartwatch 3.
I'm curious to see if this will fix things for you too. Let me know how things turn out.
If we can confirm that it's the most recent Wear Mini Launcher update that's causing the issue, we should reach out to the Developer to let him know.
Good spotting, I never would've thought about that. I'll try it out and report back.

I'm now sure it was the recent update to the Wear Mini Launcher.
Someone on an Android Police article commented about the volume issue as well, and then I read through Play Store feedback comments on Wear Mini Launcher where the Developer told someone that the "volume changing" problem is a known issue that they are planning to correct in the next update. (see my screenshot of the Play Store feedback).
Looks like reverting to the 4.0.4 app version is an easy fix for now.

Awesome! That's probably the last app I would've suspected of causing this issue. Glad to see the issue is resolved for both of us for the meantime
just thought that we could use a thread for the sport users and comments on the AW2 update, considering how poorly viewed the Moto 360 v2 update was, and how many sport users would definitely profit from viewpoints of those who have the update.
I updated yesterday, and to be honest I was pretty excited. First things first, how the update went; while many people had difficulties updating, I had no such problem with mine. I enabled the always on while charging, got to the update screen, put it on the charger, and let it go( all done through the slow but not too slow Bluetooth connection). It downloaded, installed, and rebooted (which took longer than I anticipated). The setup process was quick and easy for me, and once I got setup I was off. The first thing I did was slide left for my apps, only to remember that this function is reserved for the watch faces now. I actually enjoy this feature, as it took ages to change a face on AW1.5( I can now put my favorite faces in a line, instead of setting the top three faces over and over until they were definitely in my recents). Next, I opened my app menu. This is a great feature now. The ability to put the apps I actually use at the top is very nice. Speaking of apps, let me touch on those. The play store CAN eat up some battery, so you might want to watch it(zing). It wasn't until I got AW2 that I realized that most wear apps are designed now with 2.0 in mind. The usability is increased, there are more options, and the apps are just..... Better. There's not an easy way to explain it without experiencing it.
Overall, I've been very pleased with this update. It seems more stable than AW1.5, not to mention more modern. I do have to say that the battery is going to die faster, but only if you're using it extensively. My watch battery currently is in a better standard than my phone's (but with a LG K10 what can you do?). Today, with activities including looking at my agenda, texting people back with the keyboard (which is so accurate I might DIE), looking through apps on the play store, and checking notifications, my battery is at 30%, and that's with 13 hours. Notifications, when set to high, work completely fine for me and I enjoy the new look greatly. all of the problems faced by the gen2 users I cannot find a existence of. I would recommend this update, as it seems that Motorola took the time they spent denying us our update and used it to fix the problems the gen 2 users had.
I agree - I love this update! With AW 2 the sport feels like a new watch. Sure, accessing apps is different than before ( no more swipe left) but that's fine - easy too adjust.
Battery life is pretty much the same as before for me and love the new look for the app drawer and notifications.
*Edited for corrections
Just got the update, I'll install it later and report back, I'm excited.
Update: okay I installed it a couple days ago and so far it's pretty smooth, better than before. Battery life is hard to tell yet but so far it's good, I'll update on that later. The OS has a ton of new features that were previously only on phones such as disabling apps and turning off Bluetooth which is cool. Typing on the tiny keyboard and with drawing is actually fairly easy. So far I'm loving the update, not a bad thing to say yet besides getting used to the new UI and it's various changes like opening the apps list with the button and scrolling fast up will scroll through the top notification (scrolling has more inertia basically). Oh, and the security patch is April 1, 2017.
Good post @Nobodyslight . I'm enjoying it too although I'm not using it quite as much as you are. I'll need to explore some more but right now I'm doing the Android O thing. One question is on notifications set to high. I haven't done it but I do like that once you view an on screen noti then it doesn't appear again unless you swipe up. You don't even have to swipe it away like before. With it set to high vs normal does that feature go away? In other words will the notification say on top of the face until you dismiss it?

It does stay, but you can swipe down to go back to the watch face. But I think under the app settings in settings you can change which apps can get that priority; so if you wanted only some apps to show up like that, you could arrange it that way

Thanks, but not seeing individual permissions. Not a big deal because I really don't want any app noti to stay on top. Good to know that is what high priority does. I'll stay away.
As for battery, I just hade a gps running (Strava) for the past almost 4 hours and I still have 50% left. I'll give it a quick charge now but that's really not too bad.
Mine was stuck on the 'continue setup on your phone' screen and I stupidly de-registered it with my phone. I can't even hard reset cause if I go onto recovery mode I can't swipe up or down. So it's pretty much dead any ideas?
Continuing here from where I reported in on the other thread; Went to bed with 100% battery and started sleep tracking from the watch on Sleep with Android. Put the watch into Theater mode and got a solid 6 hours sleep. Woke up to 50% battery. On Wear 1.5 I was waking up to 73~75%. Some watch owners that use Sleep are reporting that heart rate monitoring during sleep tracking was broken after upgrading to 2.0, while mine was so much more accurate than the last 3 months.
Overall, now that I've got vibration with my notifications, I've got hope for 2.0, battery issues aside. Overall the watch is much more responsive. The animations are smooth. The keyboard, I'm honestly shocked it works this well. Speech to text, 2.0 stomps the old 1.5.
I'm liking it ? We waited for a more polished version I think. I like my watch again.

You can try to factory reset without enter recovery mode:
1) from the watch Settings --> System --> Unpair and reset
or
2) from the phone, using Android Wear and selecting "unpair the watch"

Can't enter settings during the initial setup and I disconnected the watch but the watch stays hanging on the setup screen. I tried entering receiver to hard reset it but when I swipe up or down on the screen I can't change the option. I can only reboot
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to shuffle my running playlist since upgrading to AW2.0.
Has anyone figured out how to make this work yet?
But the battery life is not as AW 1.5 BTW which watchfaces do you use for complications support?

Hello everyone!
I have the next issue:
Google feed is not working AT ALL in the moto 360 sport.
I was a beta tester of google app, but leave the beta to test is that make the trick, but again a no-go.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The Google fees isn't as it is in the app. The only things that'll pop up in there is weather, and some location tidbits(assuming you have location on on your phone and watch, and you allow Google to give you location based cards)
I just purchased 2 of the 360 sport and first thing I did was upgrade them to 2.0. I originally had a Gear 2 Neo that was hacked to run android 1.5 on it. My wife had the Gear fit 2. So that is what I compare my experience to.
Here are my impressions so far:
Battery life seems pretty bad. I barely get a full day out of it. My Neo would easily go 2 days and my wife's fit 2 would go 3 - 4.
The screen doesn't respond as I would expect. It seems to not know exactly which way I want to swipe all the time.
Step counter is incredibly inaccurate. both watches consistently seem to only catch 50% of the steps. My wife is sending hers back for this reason.
Even though I have enabled "OK Google" in the settings, it never responds. Only way I can get speech recognition to work is hold down the menu button.
I have had mine randomly reboot twice. My Gear 2 Neo would do this occasionally but it was somewhat expected being hacked to run wear.
Not sure if I should send mine back and purchase a Gear s2. I did some Googling and these issues seem to be very common. Anyone have experience with the Gear S2 that can give me a comparison? Really like the 2.0 interface and the Moto360 is a nice watch, if these bugs were worked out.

Well that only took 8 months to fix! How the hell it was ever left out I'll never know....
https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/03/21/google-improves-play-music-experience-wear-os/
just bought a 2nd hand moto 360 sport and just in time for AW 2.0 to arrive. i had previously used a 1st gen moto 360 with AW1.5, but it has since died. gotta say, the AW 2.0 is looking solid, i enjoyed it very much, its more fluid, more easy to navigate.. but i think im missing something. i can't find the setting to vibrate or notify when my phone or watch is out of range of each other
So, I updated my Moto to Oreo yesterday using fastboot method. Quick and painless process.
But after initial setup and check "what's new" I've noticed first bug. Then I thought : maybe we could make a list with all the bugs we spotted ?
Just in case, so maybe we could also keep track when (or if) they will be eliminated ?
So, put your findings there - but I propose that it should be done only by those who already tried factory reset on their phones or complete wipe during flashing. Just to avoid the bugs which come from previous setup leftovers on the phone.
So, my entry to the list is :
- when setting up ringtones - notifications, when I play the selected sound it's most often played back very quietly for the first time, the second time I click the same sound it's played back with normal volume.
By the way, the audio equalizer is working properly now - for me this was the most important change
Found a few.
- Sound glitch is still here, can be unnoticed, but I found a funny thing now. When playing music, with Spotify, YT or similar; you can get a weird glitch in where the sounds goes up and down fast. You need to stop the audio source, and wait few seconds to keep playing.
- Nav Bar, moves a lot so you can really notice when the icons are slightly up or down. I understand why; to avoid damaged pixels, but is funny.
- Nav Bar again. It can be unresponsive, needing to press it twice to allow usage. Solve for this was to start the Moto App, enable the fingeprint sensor and just disable again. It makes the nav bar Works normally then.
- EQ finally Works. But you need to get into a move few options unless is gonna be bass oriented even after you open the EQ settings, you would see a flat config, but the sound match a bass oriented way. Solve is just to mess aroung a Little until is working correctly.
- Moto App Launcher still stops working along with Google. Easy workaround is just Forcing Quit, and go back home. Other workaround for me was being in the Beta testing for the Google. alongside better performance and less problems with Moto App Launcher you can use the Pixel at Glance widget.
So far what I got
Hey there, I've got a few bugs to report to the INDIAN unit of MOTO Z2 PLAY 64GB 4G
1. I've MOTO Z PLAY too and i compared both the devices after the oreo update, in Z i can change the icon shape to round, circle square etc. But it's missing in the MOTO Z2 PLAY
2. I cannot make or receive calls using JIO 4G sim even though i can use this sim on another android mobile MOTO Z and can easily make and recieve calls from there, although the internet is working fine with. MOTO Z2 PLAY
Theae are the major 2 bugs I've found till now..
My Battery life is lower.
ive never seen Batterysaver orange until I updated. Now I have to dust off my TP mod.
Hey guys i need help, i have stock oreo on my Z2. After upgrading it was giving up some issue while on lockscreen and even delay in showing up moto display. then i format my phone and it all well, then i installed greenify and gave it access via adb commands, and the passing of lockscreen again start giving issues, i revoked the greenify commands and still it is giving the same lag on passing lockscreen and drlay in moto display to appear. Can i do something other than full format and without loosing my data.
Mine's performance and battery life have actually improved. I get 6+ hours battery life throughout the day, something I never got in nougat.
The only thing I've noticed is that the screen sometimes doesn't wake up when I pick up the phone, but it's very rare and it also happened to me in Nougat.
So far so good.

Yeah, the battery is now amazing. First day i got 9h SOT and 20h total. With less usage I get 40 hours with 5,5h SOT! On Nougat it was like 24 hours and 6h SOT.
The only issue I have is that Moto Key force closes sometimes.
Is it normal, that gmail syncs like every 10 min. and that on Oreo this is shown in the Statusbar?
I've found the Nav Bar unresponsive, too.

Same here, went back to FP navigation, and that's a pain with Screen protector installed....
P2P feature
P2P feature not working for YouTube or Google map or any app
I also have this issue, PiP is not working for me, there is no option in settings for this but the specific for every app, and for all of them it is active. What I have noticed is that the camera image seems to be more "dusty" like with a higher ISO this did not happened with Nougat, I have not verified image results after photographs. I also have a very impressive battery life.
I don't think this counts as a bug, but it is something that is making me crazy since I upgraded to Oreo:
-"Ok Google" detection now only works when the screen is on (if "trusted voice" is on, it will work in the lockscreen, but never when the screen is off).
The option related to "Ok Google" detection changed from "anytime" to something that indicates that the screen has to be on. I had a Moto X (2013) some time ago, and something that I loved about that device was how I could ask google to do some things even if the screen was off. I loved that about my Moto Z2 Play running Nougat, and I didn't expect it to stop working like that with the upgrade.
Does anyone know if it is possible to make it work with the screen off like before? Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for posting this, you saved me man! I was just about to tap update before i saw this post. The only reason i bought a Moto Z2 Play in the first place is because it was one of the few phones that allowed OK Google detection while the screen is OFF. Very sad to learn they removed this feature in Oreo, though now i think i understand why everyone is reporting better battery life. In Nougat a microphone was always listening for "OK Google" and thus constantly consuming a certain amount of power. According to your post this is seems to no longer be the case.
I doubt that this will ever be addressed so i won't be upgrading to Oreo, having to approach your phone for Google Assistant to acknowledge voice commands is unacceptable, and the fact that only some flagship phones allow it is an embarrassment.

Clear data of the Google App.
I'm on Oreo on the Z² Play and Ok Google works just fine with the screen off.

Also turn it on as a "Trust Agent" in settings-->security, if you have a screenlock.
You'll also find Moto Voice's Screen unLock activation there. if you use it.
I am scared of upgrading to Oreo since i have no sure way of knowing if i my phone will lose the ability to recognize "OK Google" when the screen is off. If i suffer the same fate as ClowReedd there would be no way for me to roll back and i would lose the functionality i bought this phone for in the first place. Motorola support is incapable of understanding the difference between a phone that can be unlocked with "OK Google" when the screen is completely off and a phone that can achieve the same only when you manually push the power button so you can see the lock screen. But to be fair there is no company in the world whose support is capable of understanding this, i had an extremely difficult time selecting a phone to purchase because of this. Multiple Samsung employees for example would either claim a certain Samsung model that i know has this capability doesn't have it, or claim that a phone that i know doesn't does. Google is also of no help, i have tried to find a list of phones with this capability and got nowhere. Most flagships have it( though some do not), but most midrange phones do not. Which is the only reason i bought a Moto Z2 Play.
Hopefully ClowReedd will respond whether or not clearing the Google app data fixes the issue, since if it doesn't nothing can be done. Google provides absolutely no support for it's assistant other than copy pasted responses online from what i have to assume are bots.

Exactly how many people have reported such an issue? If it was common, Motorola would probably know exactly what you are talking about. Have you searched the MZ²P forums? how many posts have you found?

The ability for Google Now, to unlock phone and carry out tasks/commands. Is the User Agent, as I posted above.

Well we already have 1 report in this thread, and it is not hard to imagine that a detail like this would go unreported since i am not even sure if it is a bug. Also a lot of people including yourself don't even know the difference between Google Assistant(i am guessing that is what you mean by Google Now) being able to unlock the phone and being able to wake and then unlock the phone when the screen is completely off.
Most people do not care one way or the other which is why this change could easily go unreported, assuming it is indeed a bug and not just an intentional change to conserve battery life.

if you look hard enough, you'll find ONE person who's phone exploded.
These forums are for solving problems, not to alleviate your FEARS.
Many things MIGHT happen, there is no point clogging up the threads listing all of them.
If you have a problem, let's solve it,. If you are worried your phone will attract lightning ?, there's no helping you.
Handsfree is important to me, since the 2013 Moto X, (I've had many Moto phones since), It's an invaluable function when phone is lost in the couch cushions.
You are thinking too hard, and making assumptions, I know exactly what you are talking about. Waking the phone and unlocking it are lumped together, what good is a feature that wakes the phone but doesn't unlock it (it can be optionally restricted), likewise what good is handsfree activation, if it can't wake the phone? it seems redundant to spell that out!
Google Now, was the original name for the Google Assistant, phased out last year, let's not nitpick.
BTW: it's fairly easy to go back to Nougat, should you desire it.
Regarding Picture in Picture mode, particularly for Youtube - this is a limitation that Google has put in place that only USA users can access, unless you purchase Youtube Premium. Can confirm PIP works with VLC media player. Netflix only has PIP with 8.1
I was waiting to buy the upcoming iPhone (Blasphemy!) but I just love how unique Find X is. It is going to be up for pre-order next week and I need some advice from you users.
- How durable is that 'mechanism'?
- Are you guys able to replace the stock launcher with something like Nova or Ruthless launcher with google now feed?
- Does the surface of the retracting mechanism get covered with dust over time?
- Have any other serious complaints about the phone in general?
Thanks in advance. Will really appreciate your input. Cheers!

Yeah, it's on some sort of power trip (literally, in both senses of the phrase). That said, if you read through the thread i created, following a firmware upgrade yesterday and after a "settling period" things have been almost faultless today. My phone has been faultless and even thrown in a couple of reboots to challenge it and still been OK. My last problem of Gmail being forced to drop to 15 minute syncs instead of Push also seems to have resolved itself.
Now, i'm not sure if this is some sort of OS learning which apps I use, the firmware or just plain luck (or a combo) but, i'm now very happy with the device.
If you want your own launcher, it is entirely possible, as is removing the bloat (i'm running Nova) and there is no need to register with Oppo either. The link to achieve that is also in the thread I linked to.
I have no idea about battery life as when I'm at work it sits in a dock and then when i'm at home, it's also mostly in a dock so, battery life isn't really a concern but, i guess I'll find out this weekend!

1: The mechanism feels very durable, and 95% of the time the camera pops up fast. I have encountered 5% of time when the camera would pop up but the camera app takes an additional second or two to load.
2: nope. Unable to use nova launcher unless you into adb and do all types of advanced phone geek thing or something.
3: there's noticeable dust on my camera module but doesn't seem to be a big deal.
The big issue with this phone you should take note is, like many Chinese roms, push notifications are delayed or broken if the app has been closed or in background too long. There is a work around for this -- you have to go to settings and turn battery optimization off AND lock the app in the app overview window. This is of course, not ideal and annoying as hell. Currently I only have crucial "must get notifications on time" apps locked, such as whatsapp, wechat and Gmail. So for the most part I can use the phone fine. But I do miss all other notifications such as airbnb messages, Facebook messages, LinkedIn messages, until I open those apps again. I could lock all of them down too, but I don't want to have like seven apps running in background at all times.
This is a problem with many Chinese version of Chinese phones. I don't know why they think battery optimization so aggressive it kills notifications is a good thing.

1) Stock Android provides for incoming notifications to be seamless (automatic by default, individual 3rd party app settings may be different by default, but, can be easily toggled on). Oppo has severe restrictions on this, limiting to 5 user installed apps to start automatically on boot & 5 apps total to be locked in recent memory.
So, a high horsepower phone is basically muzzled, if you can deal with the angst of wondering if you're going to get timely notifications...... Perhaps if you use the stock email & messaging apps, these will likely work, but, I would steer clear of those....
2) No NFC, so, no tap to pay apps will work.
3) No VoLTE, no VoWI-FI
4) No status bar notification icons, no LED notification indicator.
5) If you use T-Mobile Digits & it isn't a top 5 protected app/one of your precious 5 to auto start on boot, it will log you out of the app on reboot & it will not work until you set it up again, resulting in missed messages & phone calls.
6) 3rd party clock apps: Again, if it's not a protected top 5 app, it will not keep proper time, resulting in missed alarms..... The stock clock works, but, it is a bare bones app at best, no snooze adjustment, locked into 5 minutes, SERIOUSLY?
7) Ad Blockers will work, but, intermittently, again, the top 5 protected app thing & even then, Oppo will kill it off at some point, resulting in having to restart the blocking.
8) If you choose to use a 3rd party launcher, you again lose some functionality. I use Chrome & frequently place shortcuts on my desktop from it.
NOT ON THIS PHONE, another swing & a miss....
9) Bluetooth devices:
Generally they work fine, but,if the device has a companion app, prepare for it (the app) to not work properly.
Example(s):
I have a pair of Jabra Elite Active 65t earbuds,pair-up & work fine, but, the companion app will not work,as it requires a plug-in app to fuel it. These various "plug-in" apps are typical & the companion apps work fine elsewhere, but, not on this phone.
Reason being, the "plug-in" app does not have a user interface,so,you cannot make the app a top 5 protected app to gain functionality,it simply won't work at all.
Ditto for smartwatches such as the Samsung line-up, for the same reason,no notifications, worked one day for me & broken the next, before & after the most recent Oppo update. That results in the Samsung smartwatch getting a lobotomy, only able to keep time & nothing more.
10) Package tracking apps:
Again, the top 5 protected thing,no timely updates & even then, mine simply did not refresh automatically, had to be done manually.
I could go on, but, in a nutshell, you're forced to make sacrifices as soon as you start using the phone. If this was a entry level/low storage/low RAM device, that's one thing.
But, it's not, basically a Lamborghini running on two cylinders, that's not what I paid for & why I sold mine 5 days after the most frustrating phone experience I've ever seen....

That's very reassuring for me. Are you able to view the screen on time in this device? (Dunno why colorOS hides that).

The international version goes on sale in India and the Philippines today. We should soon get an idea of what the phone is capable of when it isn't hobbled by the oppressive Chinese firmware.

As a Wear OS user (Polar M600) i can absolutely CONFIRM what Koliosis is saying and this is not just limited to Samsung Watches.
That said, my watch has been fine now for 2 days and, even after a reboot, the same apps are still auto-run and remain locked. I actually like this solution now BUT, why the FRACK have they restricted it to only 5 apps!?
Anyway, as an example, my locked and running fine apps are:
Wear OS
The Crypto App (so it's widget runs OK - take note, to run a widget, the PARENT app needs to be locked sometimes)
WhatsApp
Gmail
Google Calendar (again, for it's widget)
Now, for me, this is perfectly OK and I have no need to even want to lock other apps (like Facebook) as i'm not interested however, you need to assess YOUR needs which may be more apps.
edit: Oh, oddly, i've got the Sony Experia clock widget installed and that runs perfectly even without being locked and I've no idea why!
Also, I've got the red and it looks stunning. Easily the best looking phone i've ever owned. You'll be happy with the physical design.

I am positive for a better experience on the Indian version which is already better in terms of bloat and hopefully we can do a workaround for the other issues. I will keep you posted. Currently it's a long wait as the tentative delivery is 5th August so I'll share my inputs after playing with the machine for a couple of days
Many thanks for your inputs so far and the adb workaround for bloat.
