[Q] [HELP] Can't find Nandroid Backup to restore - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I hope you're having a nice day!
Today I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, and flashed CWM. I then installed Titanium Backup and attempted to back up all my app data, after which I attempted to do a Nandroid backup. After that I flashed CM onto my phone, and tried to get all of my apps and app data back however, it seems I didn't back my app data up properly since not all of my apps have reinstalled and the ones that have seem to not have my data in them. I think this is because when I attempted to backup, the backup directory was set as somewhere in storage by default, so it seems I saved all my app stuff onto the internal storage then wiped it. I tried to do a Nandroid restore, however when I attempt to do so, the message "No Files Found" comes up. I believe this may be because I backed up into internal storage again. Does this mean I've deleted my Nandroid backup as well? Or could I get it back and properly backup my app data?
Thanks for reading, I would really appreciate help.

restore from clockworkmod.

Hi, i thought something went wrong with my android so i did a flash but before that i did a backup.
After flashing, i found out with was a problem with my carrier not my phone, therefore i wish to restore the clockworkmod backup. As soon as i restore it from clockworkmod screen, i've booted back into a fresh Android with some apps missing.
Help please?
I've found out the problem. My nandroid din't backup the whole system. Apparently my memory card was full... Sigh

[Q] Clockworkmod Backup

I've been reading some conflicting information about nandroid backups. Do they actually back up everything on your phone, minus the micro SD card, or do I need something like Titanium to supplement it?
I've read both, so I'm looking for some clarification on exactly what steps I need to take to make sure everything is safe.
They backup everything.
The sd card is not backed up ie-music,videos,etc but everything else is backed up. u can use pc to backup sd card.
CWM actually backups the whole rom; system, boot, data and cache folders so when you restore a nandroid backup your rom will be exactly as you backup it; the apps and there data and every thing else related to the rom will be restored.

Best way to backup?

Ok. so i was thinking about installing some custom roms and using them for a few days weeks to see how they perform but i was wondering what the best way to back up my apps/data and contacts would be so they can easily be restored after i have installed a new rom.
I dont have a memory card for my phone so i just have the 16gb internal memory so if i use an app that saves the backup to my phone would i just transfer the backup data from my phone to pc then after i have factory reset/wiped the cache and dalvik and intalled the rom put the backup file back on?
Also is there anything i NEED to back up on the phone or is it just the stuff i want like app data and contacts?
Thanks.
titanium backup
thank you.
Because i will be factory reseting the phone before i install the new rom will i need to move the titanium backup from my phone to computer?
will the reset and wipe delete the backup?
Use as said titanium for data and apps and gmail for contacts sync. You can copy the titanium files to your computer just in caseto be safe.

Just remember that if you wipe sd and you don't have external, then you won't have a Rom to flash to so you will be left with choice of either pushing the zip to sd with ADB, or flashing stock/rerooting/cwm/etc
R: Best way to backup?
Yeah man try to keep it simple...
just make a full backup with titanium backup pro (set backup folser to external sd card or just move the backup to the sd card when its done) it will require a lot of space if u had a lot of apps...
Flash all you want and put the new rom on the phone.
Then remember to have the titanium backup apk ready on your sdcard to be installed when ure done setting up the new rom(or go get it back off the play store if you wish), then install titanium and restore from the backup folder...simple

4.Nandroid backup from recovery if you ever want to go back to an old rom.

Bricked my sisters S2 with Greenify HELP PLEASE??!

Hi,
I installed Greenify and hibernated some apps and thereafter the phone restarted on its own and is stuck in the RevoltJB logo screen.
I've tried almost everything, from taking the battery out, clearing dalvick cache and flashing the RevoltJB rom again but it's not booting.
I've made a nandroid copy to the Sd Card, system / app, data files say complete but then when it's backing up the music/videos/pics it fails. Not enough memory.
Does that mean that the nandroid backup of system apps (sms/call logs) and my sisters apps/data (whatsapp message history) haven't been backed up?
I also made a internal copy and that seemed to backup everything. Hardly any pics or music on internal memory, plus it had 8gb free.
Does that mean that both the internal and sd card backup the same things?? And can I factory reset and reinstall the RevoltJB rom and then using titanium backup get back her whatsapp messages, her sms and call logs not to mention her stupid level 50 candycrush data?
Please can someone tell me if I've been able to make a successful nandroid backup on either the sd (even if it only backed up system/apps) or internal memory and whether I have any chance of a recovery of her sms, whatsapp and candycrush data.
PS if i reinstall jb rom it won't delete my nandroid backup will it...?
Thank you for your replies in advance. I'm going crazy because she's in tears, so please can someone help me.

You don't need to worry much after making the nandroid backup you can safely wipe data/cache/dalvik cache and reflash the ROM, also along with TB try using the app nandroid manager to restore the apps, call logs, contact's etc. from the previous nandroid backup, and be careful to not format /sdcard partition its where all your data like your music, videos, nandroid backup, and other data is kept.
Hmmm seems you don't use your internal SD card much, and making a backup anywhere is not problem it will be the same thing done twice whether it be in the internal or the external SD card, just try to make a successful backup by freeing up some space, also if you have the patience to read a lot try using Aroma file manager to manually handle the required files like the contact database and stuff, though I would advice a noob to hold off until he's more experienced.

Stop being melodramatic. Bricked phones don't boot. At all
I think you froze a system app....look at @MistahBungle 's signature and read what it says.
Do a factory reset and a ROM reflash. This is the only thing you can do.And yes,all her messages and game data will be gone (you can maybe extract them manually from the Nandroid backup)

Upgraded to kitkat and appeared to have lost lots of data including backups

Hi guys please help.
I upgraded from 4.1.2 to kitkat neatrom based on slimrom.
I was going to do new nandroid backup, wiped my 2 newest to make space and then was going to do a nandroid backup but forgot as was distracted. Installed the new rom, I was aware of the new naming scheme for the fodlers and assumed it would be automatically handled or at least my data still accessible in old folders.
It seems the following has happened.
All my titanium backups wiped.
contacts/sms/call log backup data etc. wiped
Any existing files, including photos etc. in data dir wiped.
is this a known problem?
or is it not wiped and they got moved somewhere?
I have not lost everything still have some nandroid backups but none now that recent. I take blame for forgetting to do the nandroid backup but I am hoping is at least a way to recover the data that was on my sdcard.
further information.
some data is intact for example I have recording from easy voice recorder pro, yet other folders like pictures, titanium backup, ringtones all old data is gone.
