Has anyone been able to install the gear manager app and have the samsung store included? I know of certain threads that speak of changing build.prop but as some of you may know...I'm not going back that route. And I also know you can connect it without anything special but I'm wanting the samsung store included, if possible. Anyone that can help?

Okay, so I've been looking for a Japanese locale patch for my phone and I've found this patch but for some reason I can't get it to work on my phone but I have the Samsung Japanese keypad working that was posted in that thread, but I was just wondering if anyone has any insight on this, or knows of a different way to set the locale (and yes I know there are apps on the market that do it but I'd prefer to not use one of them). I'm running Superclean 2.9 right atm.
It doesn't work because that is meant for the i9000. Odds are, you aren't going to see a Japanese patch or ROM for the Fascinate unless you set it up yourself, or find someone else willing to do it. The phone is shipping with just English and Spanish afaik, so those are your choices if you don't want an app from the market.
Yes I realized that when I found it, but there have been a few people that posted in that thread saying they got it working on their HTC Evo 4g, and some seem to have it working on their Galaxy Tabs, and because of that I decided to try it out, ran into problems and wanted to see if anyone had gotten it to work.
Folks,
sorry to bother you but not sure where I should turn next. Like most of us here I am the proud owner of the AT&T version of the Galaxy S II One of the features it was suppose to have is the ability to stream from your 2011 Samy HDTV to your Galaxy S 2 or Tab. I have such a TV (PN64D7000) and wanted soo bad to try this.
However when I go to the market it says my phone is NOT compatible??? Huh???
In every web article I have seen about this I have never seen any blub saying its only working for certain versions of the Galaxy S II.
(for example this one: http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/02/samsung-smart-view-shrinks-smart-tv-down-for-your-galaxy-s-ii/)
I have tried to contact the Andriod Market folks to see why. I also asked Sammsung Tech support as well. I guess the next stop is AT&T?
Just was not sure where to go next as I want to play with this feature.. Any other ideas?
I did see another XDA thread in the general apps section about where they are trying to port this apps to non sammy phones...
There are 2 fixes. Take out your SIM card and download through the Android Market. Or turn on Airplane mode, then just turn WiFi on and download.

Hey there,
thanks for the reply. I tried both and neither worked. Each time I only could see the remote and a few other apps. Any other ideas as it sounds too simple even for me to screw up Thanks again!

You can try this approach found on youtube that worked for the Note 3:

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know where I can find a modded firmware for a Samsung Galaxy Light (SGH-T399) ?
The firmware needs to be modified so it does "NOT" include wifi capabilities. I have heard of this being done before, and I would like to know if anyone has made a modded version like this or know anyone who can do it for me. If it costs money, I will pay for it, but if someone can help me, all is appreciated. I thank you for your time and cooperation in this matter.

Got a used AT&T One-M7. Need it for infrared. Can someone help with a few questions?
I bought a used HTC One M7 from eBay on some deal / offer. Basically, I want to use the IR blaster to control the TV (and rest of the media center) at home. For that purpose, I installed an app called "AnyMote" and it works just fine.
However, I am kind of annoyed by all the AT&T bloatware on it. This is my first non-GpE phone. I had a Galaxy Nexus followed by a Nexus 6, and I have never rooted, changed ROMs or anything of that sort.
So here are my questions -
1. Is there any way to get rid of all the AT&T bloatware apps ?
2. If the only way to achieve #1 above is by "install a new ROM", will the IR blaster continue to work and be recognized by AnyMote in the new ROM? Do I need to look for a ROM that supports that?
3. Are there any guidelines on how I can go about installing a new ROM ? All the stickies I see in the HTC One forums are new ROMs, and they all assume a certain level of expertise that I clearly do not have. Given this is my first foray into ROM changing, can someone point me to a more noob friendly guidelines I could read off?
Thank you !
Hi,
until today I used a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini on which are preinstalled some apps that I like: now I have a new smartphone and a tablet (both non-Samsung) on which I would like to install the same Apps of the S4 but for many of them, APPStore does not allows me to install them, not even using Apptoide, or if they are installed then they do not work.
I looked for the equivalent on AppStore but I do not find anything that satisfies me completely (perhaps because of habit).
Is there any way to use Samsung's Apps on non-Samsung systems (without having to root), perhaps by installing a library or some other special software?
Thank you
Ermanno
P.S. I did not find the right forum to put my question, please Mr, moderator move it to the right one.

I've never really got into this area but, I believe that one or more of the following threads/links should, at least, be helpful to give you a good start for what you are looking to do. Don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within one of them too.
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-port-oem-specific-apps-to-other-devices/

http://en.miui.com/thread-12801-1-1.html
Side Note: What your looking to do is what's called App Porting. Not all apps from one device to another will work. If you look at the S4, I would "guesstimate" that 25% of those apps are Firmware dependent, 25% are dependent on other apps, 25% are dependent on one or more of a devices Architecture, Android Version, DPI, SDK, etc... and the last 25% are not as dependent and may/should work on any device. There's more to it but, this is just a brief summary.
I would recommend trying to gather more information from the above links and ask for some member guidance within either one of the above threads/links or another thread that's similar to the question at hand.
Good Luck!
