This was my first time i bought a Huawei phone and I accidental deleted built.prop. I think so.... Its with locked bootloader and i really dont know what to do as its a new phone. There is no recover out there. Please help me out. :crying:
Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, perform a factory reset
Edit scratch that, you don't even need a custom recovery, just perform a factory reset in the stock recovery

Curious as to why you think that would work? build.prop is in /system. A factory reset won't bring that back.
Without the original firmware and a locked bootloader, there isn't much you can do...

Hi guys,
I am sorry in advance if it's a stupid question.. I've read a lot of FAQs but I am not sure I understand everything. Sorry about that.
When I do factory reset (which means the same as 'wipe', right?) it does resetting current installed ROM to its original state, right?
So, let's say I am doing factory reset the first time (so currently my phone has store ROM installed) so factory reset will revert all the changes in the installed ROM (such as settings, installed apps, all the data) to its original state - which the phone had since it got ROM installed.
But If I got root (which means I replaced secured kernel with unsecured one) and I installed another customized ROM and for some reason I want to do factory reset again - what's gonna happen?
Will factory reset revert original store ROM back or it will revert manually installed ROM (customized ROM) to its after installation?
And as far as I understood factory reset does nothing with kernel? It only affects ROM? So in the second case , when I use non-store ROM and I am doing factory reset - nothing will happen with my unsecured kernel?
I am stacked here.. Thanks..
When you do a factory reset, regardless of the ROM installed, it erases the /data and /cache partitions of the phone. If you modified the /system partition (remove bloat) it will not undo those modifications. To return to a true factory state, you would need to run an official OEM utilitity, such as an RUU for HTC devices.
I hope that helps.

Thank you, but I am not sure it's clear for me.. So - if I do factory reset - my ROM remains the same. If I have custom ROM - I will have the same ROM after reset - right? It's not gonna be overwritten with a store ROM ?
As he said already... the rom that you have installed will remain until you flash another one, the factory reset only will erase all user data, so your rom will be clean as a fresh install.

I did not understand him and that's why I asked again.. Just to be sure.. Thanks.
Ok, I've flashed a few ROMS Before using different recoverys, etc etc. I was attempting to install the VIPER ROM which requires you to install their "custom" recovery. So i did and rebooted my phone into recovery preparing to install the rom.zip from my SD Card. BUT for some reason it wouldn't read any downloads in my SD & when i went to restore my backup..... it wasn't reading anything there. SO, last night i attempted to remove the "CUSTOM" recovery and restore TWRP..... I removed the "cUSTOM" recovery successfully.... NOw i have a phone with a bootloader(unlocked of course) and NO OS, NO RECOVERY. I've been told to perform a hard factory reset by my friend, but when i attempt to do that it just goes to the HTC quietly brilliant screen, and stays. I was attempting to perform the factory reset through the adb command prompt but i have almost no experience with that method and couldn't find a post about a problem quite like mine. (SORRY if there is and it was overlooked, a bit stressed) I NEED HELP ON WHAT I SHOULD DO....
A. I dont know how to do a HARD factory reset now without using bootloader.
B. DO i have to reset it? Would an RUU work?
C. IS there another way to restory TWRP & My old backups or another custom ROM without LOSING my pictures/music/videos???

A- You can not reset because there no OS what will you reset in a phone without OS
B- If your phone is S-off then you sure you can run RUU.
C-IF you have created the nandroid backup then sure you can backup flash the recovery from which you have made the backup and restore it, and don't factory reset you will lose all your pic.

You should be able to flash a custom recovery from the bootloader. After that, if you cannot access your recoveries, then you should be able to sideload a ROM directly from your computer via ADB.
Good luck!
Stuck with stock after custom recovery was lost due to 4.4.2 ota.
Phone has bad lag from time to time even after factory reset. My question is can I use Odin (or how) to go a step beyond factory rest to try and fix things?
I have an issue with my Desire X I tried to put a different rom on using TWCP but now I cannot do a factory reset and when I tried to get to boot loader I just get TWCP. I can get into the phone but its not working properly.
Is there a way I can factory stock reset it all please, I will need idiot steps to do this as I am new to all this.
Sorry
Did you flashed the TWRP for your device? Because if you have ICS bootloader, the JB recovery won't work. And if you have JB bl, the ICS version won't work, too. Which bootloader version you have?
Anyway, if you can boot into the system, enter the settings and somwhere between the settings you can find a factory reset option. I don't know, under which menu, because it's different in every Android version. But serch for it in the settings, and you will find it. If you want just a factory reset, it will be enough. But if you want to install a custom rom or a mod, you will need a 100% working recovery.
Hi
Is there a way to return to stock recovery and unroot (in oredr to get OTA update) without doing factory reset and loosing all data and settings?
Thanks

you can flash stock recovery and unroot, but OTA update won't install; you need locked phone which does automatically factory reset; you can backup data using FlashFire even on encrypted partition as it makes file based backup and relock
That sucks big time. Doesn't worth the trouble.
I wonder why all the Chinese phones (and as far as I can tell, only them) make it such a hassle to root.
I've seen this on Oneplus, Xiaomi and now Honor.
