I accidentally converted play store to a user app and it won't open when I tried to click on it. Reboored , cleared cache and data and switched it back to a system app and it still won't open. Is there anyway that I can get it to work again?

Which ROM you use doesn't matter
only having root access matters
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.traber.systemappsinstaller
Apk- http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1778500&d=1362397533
install gplay as system app using it.

definitely
tell the procedure you following.
Uninstalled play store, downloaded a play store apk online, installed throughout system app and it won't work, installed it regularly and it worked but still won't open, installed it as a user so I changed it to system and still won't work.

Re-installed an app (apk) I had previously backed-up.
Originally, I downloaded it from Android Market.
Now how can I make Android Market see it?

With Titaniun Backup, you must have root access, long press on the apk and a pop up window will appear, just select link it to market, and thats all

Tried that.
But shouldn't there be an "M" (referring to Android Market) over a yellow smiling face? I can't get that...
Try going in to Manage Applications, find the market, and Clear the Data and Cache.
Then re-open the market and go to My Apps... this worked for me.

How about linking apks downloaded from other (non-market) sources?
I wanna get updates for my other apps that I didn't download from the market. I've tried the above steps, but it still didn't work for any of the apps.

Install busybox. If that doesn't work then you might try hard reset.

Take a logcat and it will help you. This mainly happens when there is no place left on the device. If you want the play store just search for phonesky.apk

Try clearing the play store app data. Also if you have already created a Google account try to remove it and then create a new one after installing the play store.

Do this:
Remove some apps from /system/app in ROM zip and then flash it. After that flash gapps you might get out of the error. If not, then take a logcat.

i installed different gapps and its ok now thank you very much
Okay so i have installed playstore. And it says successful but i fant see it in app drawer
try opening a browser, search for an app and click on the google play store link and see if it prompts you to open in a browser or the playstore app...
try clearing cache+data/force stop/disable and enable the play store...and reboot...and see if it helps.
or uninstall and reinstall again?
I am having the same issue. I tried both the installer and apk mirror. I am using Remix on a ext4 HDD.
