Hello:
Ok here is the deal i flash a wrong ROM in my sk17 and now the touch screen is bricked.
i was reading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020766 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657310
so i try this command in adb shell to check which firmware is there
Code:
cat /sys/devices/platform/spi_qsd.0/spi0.0/appid
And what a really weird surprise...
Code:
cat: can't open '/sys/devices/platform/spi_qsd.0/spi0.0/appid': No such file or
directory
i double check in ES File Explorer and no appid file or folder neither.
So now i kindly request to any user with a xperia mini pro (sk17) with ICS 4.0 if they can check via adb shell or root explorer is it an "appid" file or folder in /sys/devices/platform/spi_qsd.0/spi0.0 folder or anywhere else.
If is there. can you upload it here? or is there a way to create that file?
i hope this get a response
/sys is a virtual file system in linux .
It provides information about devices and device drivers.
You can't add any file to /sys.

Can someone explain the easiest way to modify hosts file please.I have used ES File Explorer which can edit it but after editing file,it can not be saved & gives me an error message.
Don't you need root for this?
Well, since I don't know if you have custom boot and busybox and alike you can do the following:
cd /pathtohostfile
cat hosts > /sdcard/hosts
Then you can either edit it when you mount sdcard or pull it via adb. To replace it just rename the old hosts file (mv hosts old.old) and then cat /sdcard/hosts ./hosts
Voilá
The cool thing is that cat doesn't give a f*** if this concerns a cross-link reference.
Regards
I know there has to be a way, I just can not find it.
What I want to do is with the terminal find a way to create a list of only the .apk files in a folder, would also be nice to know how to list other different file extensions.
My goal is to create a text file with a list of all the apks in my /system/app folder, and other folders as needed.
Thanks
Don't know if this works on Android, but in a standard Linux shell you can cd to the directory (which would be /system/app in your case) and then type ls > file.txt (file can be named anything).

It is strange. After reboot the files have been copied but the first one libflashplayer.so is just linked and this blocks the browser. Instead if I launch the script from root explorer everything is fine. can somebody help me?

Don't linked flashplayer to link2sd because after restarting link2sd run before the autostart so link2sd not able to link the file and btw if you manually link flashplayer then flashplayer not work in opera mobile so don't link flashplayer and keep it in internel memory.

Hello,
Not an android professional. I have a P690 rooted. Installed flash, worked fine, untill reboot (lib files vanished). Trying to setup the script u mentioned above.
Heres where i am so far.
1.installed "script manager"
2.copied the script above without "" marks into a file called autostart.sh
3.created folder "lib" in sdcard directly
4.copied 4 lib files to lib folder in sdcard and doublechecked the names with the names in the script (i use notepad to view the script)
5.created folder "Opt" in phone/data/
6.pasted the script file there. assuming 777 means rwx-rwx-rwx i did that for the sh file.
7.Ran SM, browsed as root to the directory /date/opt, chose the sh file, clicked "open as script/executable"
8.In SM Chose options run at boot, run as root and "executable" option
9.clicked run
Files are not copied:

Hi.
I had also faced the same issue....
The thing that u have to do is to install busy box... then everything works fine for you...
Actually this error occurs because your system could not support these unix commands (chmod, cp,etc.).. and these commands only works when you install busy box in your phone.. so can also say that busybox installs common unix utilities to the android...
Press THANKS if I help you..!!

Hello everybody,
I have a "problem" with /system/bin/ and bin folders (however, the phone works just fine, hence those quotation marks :angel.
Let's stick with /system/bin/: Inside I have the files that should be there, but there is also another bin folder with exactly the same files inside and another bin folder inside ... and so on, about 20 times/levels(?) nested.
Not sure what it is ... some hardlink problem?
The same is in /bin/ folder.
ES File Explorer says that there are about 7000 files/ 230 MB in the first nested bin subfolder.
I tried the following:
1. Delete the nested bin folders from ES File Explorer (root access granted) - unsuccessful ("can't delete ...")
2. From CWM: format /system/ + Factory reset + wipe + ROM reflash
3. Search the forum for this issue - maybe I can't search properly, but found nothing ... sorry
As I said, the phone works fine. But I think that it is not good to have such a mess inside the system folders.
I didn't try complete reflash (ftf file) ... I'm trying to avoid doing everything from scratch .
Can you help me, please?
Thanks a lot,
J.
Phone: Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman WT19i, unlocked bootloader (the Sony way), MESA Kernel 3.6 stock, Real ICS lite r4.
Update: It's a chain of symlinks. The depth of the chain is 40 (counted in DroidExplorer).
What else didn't work:
mount /system in TWRP, then starting file editor, deleting bin (even with chmod)
All attempts to delete the symlink via PC file managers (e.g. Droid Commander)
Solution {rooted phone):
It was a symlink in system/bin pointing to self,
1. Install Android Terminal Emulator (free at Google Play)
2. Start it
3. Then
Code:
# su
(allow root access)
Code:
# mount -o remount, rw /system
# cd /system/bin
# rm bin
That's it
What is init.d?
init.d is a folder placed in /system/etc wich has been legendary used since the old android times to run scripts at boot. I've decided to make this simple script becouse lots of my users on my AmazBoost MOD thread were asking how they can enable init.d on stock ROM or simply on an unsupported ROM. It's easy to run and doesn't require any kind of coding skills!
What you need
- AmazFit Stratos/Pace
- Rooted ROM
How to install
1) Download the mod zip from download link and unzip it
2) Connect the wath to the PC
3) Place the enable.sh file inside your adb folder and open there a command prompt (or terminal for Mac OS/linux) then type the following codes:
Code:
adb root
adb push enable.sh /sdcard/
adb shell sh /sdcard/enable.sh
4) Done!
5) You NEED to reinstall the mod running the installer after every ROM update!

Ooops didn't check it perfectly just used a Compiler to see if there were some syntax errors, thanks I'll updating the file now!

Script name and command name don't match either, enabler.sh
I think that I found a solution..I wish is helpful !
1) First of all you need to have unlock bootloader and then run the temporary root
(check in "PERMANENT INSTALL" description)
AFTER ROOTING LETS GO FOR UNIT SUPPORT!
I used the init.d support through terminal emulator
2) Download the term-init.sh v3 .
3) Connect the watch to your PC.
4) Place the term-init.sh file inside your adb folder and open the command prompt.. then type the following codes:
(if adb shell or adb root not working, try to disconnect and connect your watch )
Code:
adb root
adb push term-init.sh /sdcard/
(or you can drag and drop it in your sdcard)
adb shell sh /sdcard/ term-init.sh
5) After that go and run the installer.bat file from Amazboost folder!
6) Done!
I tried this tools but i have error

Is anybody enable init.d on stock fw?
Hi,
I'm trying to install the Amazboost tweaks on my rooted Stratos (A1619) with Global FW (2.3.10.5) but I suspect that the installation of the tweaks via busybox is not running correctly. I have followed precisely the procedures with success but there is no log in the AmazBoost/LOGS folder after the reboot.
I have installed the last version of busybox (V1.29.3 for MIPS) in both /system/bin and /system/xbin but no log at all.
Some posts said that init.d is not working with stock fw.
Is that true?
Is anybody can help me to check if init.d can be enabled on my rooted Stratos (A1619) with Global FW (2.3.10.5)? And how can we verify that it works?
Thanks
Hi,
I'm still trying to understand why init.d is not running on my Stratos (A1619) with Global FW (2.3.10.5).
The init.d script refers to the "run-parts" file located in the /system/xbin/ directory.
But run-parts is not present.
I have found one file coming from the xperia x10 forum but it is not working on the Stratos: /system/xbin/run-parts: not executable: 32-bit ELF file
Is somebody could provide me this run-parts file compliant with the Stratos? (or help me to understand why the amazboost tweaks are not correctly installed)
