Ics schedule released

LGs official facebook page. Even though third quarter 2012 is far away I like this.
LG will be offering the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS upgrade for a range of LG smart-phones which were introduced this year. The global upgrade schedule will begin in the second and third quarters of 2012, which will be followed by a global roll out.
During the second quarter of 2012 upgrades will begin for the following smartphone models: the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.
LG will be taking all possible measure to offer a smooth OS upgrade in a timely manner. The exact start dates can vary by market, as each country can have different requirements, depending on the carrier and the smartphone model.
LG would like to thank its customers for their most valued loyalty and support. Further details on the ICS OS upgrade, including their exact start dates, will be released prior to their commencement
I think our phone will not get it but devs can start port once lg release it officially as ics project for optimus one are on hold at this point

[Q] Roms for different LG G2 models?

When ppl start making new Roms for this phone are they gonna be for different models like
LG G2 F320S
LG G2 D802
LG G2 D802TA
LG G2 D803
and so on..
Or is it gonna be universal?
like in galaxy note 2 there was 3g roms(GT-i7100) and a 4g roms(GT-i7105).
Of course the difference here on G2 lies on battery, sd card and tv antena from what i know.
Im asking because i want to make sure im buying the most modded model.
Thanks.

initially the US versions will have the most happening for them, as they were released first (except for the korean ones, but as they are rare on here less will be done for them) later on it will be the International version for sure, as it will be outselling any other variant.
But all in all the major ROMS will probably support all, unless some are very tricky to support

Hardware differences seem minimal, unlike the samsung lines.

LG V10 NOT coming to UK!!

I have just spoken to customer services at LG UK asking for an update on the availability of the V10 here. What I was told amazed me. It seems that despite showing the V10 H960 on the website , the phone will definitely NOT be marketed here. The agent believes it only appears on there for "support" reasons. I told him that to me this was ridiculous, but he was adamant and said that he had only been given the news himself this morning!! He also said that if I bought one from elsewhere in Europe, it wouldn't be covered by their warranty as they couldn't be sure of obtaining any parts required. I find that equally disturbing.
I guess I'll have to wait for the G5 or risk a grey import.
so where can we get the greymarket version ie H960 ?
Spoke to two different people at LG Support UK team...both pretty much said same thing that the V10 not coming to UK, both said it was never confirmed for entry into UK market either! Display on Lg UK website is just for show
And also if buying any imported version, they wont provide any warranty for it... Disappointing move....Like Samsung did with Note 5. But think H960 variant can be imported/bought from czech rep/turkey/uae
This is a bad move by LG “ this phone would have smashed it here in the uk “ feels good to be in an exclusive club of LG V10 owners tho
I gave up hope, now that they will announce the G5 for release in April probably. I'll just wait for Samsung S7 or G5 now. My LG G3 is fine, I just wanted a finger print scanner.

its a long history, people are talking and saying that LG itself say to a user they dont will update G4 and V10 because Nougat runs unstable on SD808, but then i remember LG Nexus 5X and they have the same SoC than us, and i think the online support lie to the user in question and now that user are in "emergency mode" and post it in every thread they see and make panic between V10 and G4 users.
I belive we will get it, and of course if you have the Korean model you should get the update firt than us of international model or USA models. Korea make them firt for theyr country and after to worldwide!
Dont get too excited because i think until G6 dont get in the stores we dont get the updates, let the G6 have 1 week on the shelfs trying to sell and after that i think we get the update!
Relax...LG always do things like this, i remember in december 2015 with my G3 lose hopes if they get Marshmallow and then they release them to G3, G4 get it first by the time, software info on high end LG phones is always V10x, V20x and v30x - x is one letter of the software, so, G3 get Marshmallow, G Flex2 get it too last year when i have it...and remember G Flex2 is the dark member of the LG phones because the overheating SD810 and anyway they get the update to MM.
the Android 7.0 software update is now available for south korea variants of LG V10

LG says Q2 2019. So, sometime between April and end of June.
That was my prediction from the beginning -- last year when it started being discussed. And I was right. LG finally confirmed it in January.
Basically about the same time of year they delivered Oreo last year.

I heard those dates for the Korean version, which would put us in 3q.
Desperately hoping that's wrong!

No, because the article also specifically mentioned the V30S, which is a US998 variant. All US998 firmware is the same for US998 V30/V30+/V30S.

the V40, V30, and V30S will have to wait until Q2 2019 (ends on June 30).

Even if LG tried to release Pie for just US998 V30S, it's still ALL of US998. Well, I mean I would feel sorry for the H930 variants and H932, but the rest of North America variants can flash US998 firmware. But I'm fairly certain it's ALL V30 variants in Q2. You can't say V30 and V30S and then leave out any.
From the Reddit thread:
LG also posted a list of LG phones that will receive Pie in Korean. Availability may vary depending on your region.
2019 Q1: G7, V35
2019 Q2: V40, V30, V30S
2019 Q3: G6, V20, Q8 (2018)
2019 Q4: Q9, X5 (2018)

Not all V30S are US998 variants though
The V300LW/KW/SW are korean V30S(+). So could very well be that "we" all will receive pie only in Q3, while the koreans still get it in Q2.
One thing is certain, LG is not a brand for those who love having an updated phone, given this behavior, my next smartphone will certainly not be LG !!

@SGCMarkus, thank you for the information about the Korean V30S. I hadn't run across the Korean variants of the V30S, but with the model numbers you supplied it was now easy to find.
I also knew while initially LG had also announced a 256GB V30S+, I never saw any proof it actually released. Here in the U.S. only the 128GB V30S was released, basically a V30+ with 6GB RAM.
But here are the details for anyone else who is interested in the V30S:

I still have a Nexus 5 in a drawer and I know the Google updates, you don't have to tell me what I have to take, when Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, Nokia, Asus, Motorola .. etc etc .. they already have Android 9, once LG was held in step but lately, on the software side, it is not its value
Bye

If you want quick updates, you go Google. All those OEM's listed still update slow. Maybe except for Nokia, which no one is buying anyway. Everyone else is all pretty slow.
People aren't buying any of those guys for the updates. They're buying them for what the phones offer out of the box.
If you bought an LG phone and you were seriously expecting reasonable updates, you haven't been paying attention.
So go whine about not buying an LG phone again because it's not being updated fast enough for you. That should have been apparent with their history of slow updates.

Can we just all agree we know LG is bad about updates? No need to go back and forth.
Yet LG promised about a year ago to do better. So there's some disappointment there, in spite of their acknowledged bad history before that.

It's old news that LG is bad about updates. Everyone should know that. It's foolish to have believed their promise that they would do better without any substantial proof to support that claim.
I got the V30 because it was a good purchase out of the box. I bought this phone knowing that I'd be upgrading to a phone with the latest software before this phone was updated. I've used a lot of LG phones. [emoji2377]
They don't surprise me. They shouldn't surprise anyone at this point. I'd have been surprised if they lived up to their promise for faster updates.
