Hi!
I have a waterproof case for s3 and i want to take pictures underwater but the touchscreen doesn't work and i can't use the volume/power buttons so i don't know how to take pictures!!!
The only button i can use is home button, is there any app or mod that can help me???

Hello xda, I just had a quick question.
Okay, so im not sure whether this is right: when in the camera app, on "normal" capture mode, I press the camera hard button, but the camera only goes into focus....thats it. It does not capture the picture...thus the normal mode is useless for me, please help.

This was true for me too. What it is is that the button needs to be pressed hard. Try pressing it harder. Personally I prefer the touch capture cuz when I go to press the shutter button, the whole phone shakes up and the pictures come out blurry

aha, I wasn't pressing it hard enough. I just bought it and was being very delicate lol...too delicate i guess.

lol, easy mistake. you could always turn on "tap to take picture"
tap the screen, it focuses and then takes pic. easy!
The switch has 2 "switches", soft press, the camera focuses so that you can see if everything is ok, if you hold it like that and press a little harder, it will take a picture.

Most smarthones have this "dual press" feature.. it took me days to figure out how to snap a picture on my Omnia (back in the windows mobile days)
Try pressing it harder........
The button is now on the left side of my phone :lol
But the button on my phone has only a decorative function I guess...it doesn't do anything...no matter how hard I press...

hey guys i was just wondering if anyone has found the camera to be annoying because you have to be literally holding the camera in front of you to take pictures because theres no dedicated camera button on the phone. i was wondering if its possible or if someone has already created some mod to where they can use lets say the volume up or down button to take the picture. i'd rather sacrifice the zooming feature with the volume rockers because i can zoom in and out right on the screen before i take the picture. thanks to anyone who has any information on this.

Hello you think it will be possible to root the camera button on the touchscreen to a physical button like the on/off button or the middle button to make better pictures?? If you try to make a photo from yourself it is nearly impossible to hit the button on the touchscreen to make the picture. Bad Solution from Samsung.
It'll be hard: power button is tied to sleep, home button is tied to suspend. You'll have to override these functions for it to happen.
maybe with a app it would be going i dunno i heard about vignette with that app it is possible to make pictures with the volume buttons.

Check this thread.. Posted under the general section.. Don't know whether it will help because the uploaded file is for SGS i9000.. But he has managed to implement it on an ACE so he might be able to guide you all through the process..

Hello guys, i have a question about rear volume keys.
When screen is off, long press vol+ is for note, and vol- is for camera. And when i got my G2 mini i my pocket sometimes i got some black photos of my pocket because camera is on.
And here is my question : How to disable that option ? How to disable long press shortcut ?

Hello,I too really hate that at some times and the only way I found by now without rooting the device is with this app:

It is not working on my G2 mini, no effects after install, no asking about default action for keys. Any other idea?
