Android L isn't commercially released yet. When it comes expect AOSP makers (CM, Omni...) to update their base and maybe it will run fine on i9300. This is just logic thinking. You could use some.

Never, S3 is dead.

People who are saying s3 is dead they are drunk even now s2 and note 1 Are getting too many KitKat Roms and we will surely get android l based custom ROM but only after cm omni will release android l sources

For samsung yes,for us hell no

Mods, please close this hilarious thread.

Mod Edit
Thread Closed - Samsung as reported they are not going to be update the S III to Android L, however with our talented developers there is a good chance that 1 of them will take on the challenge.

[Q] What will happen to CM with ICS?

Will CM need to change all its code to suit ICS, perhaps to a new CM version? I've always liked how CM keeps android up to date...
Also, what new features will CM be able to do over stock android ICS?

Sony Xperia S added to AOSP

Good news
The Sony Xperia S is being added to AOSP as the first experimental device:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/sony-xperia-s-added-to-aosp-as-experimental-device/
Check out the dev discussion forum (if you're interested in contributing or just learning how to build a complete ROM from sources (like I am)):
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/android-building/zji_sQGN9Oo/discussion
This should really amp up development for our device. :good:
XDA-Developers video mostly musing on why they have chosen to add experimental devices:

Ohh man,
I literally searched General and Android development for "AOSP" and came up with nothing
Maybe cause it's an old post. I'm sorry for failing at search
This is so 1 week ago...

The Xperia S will get updates directly from Google, just like the Nexus phones.

Not exactly that. For now, it's only a project.

Indeed. But if it comes to fruition, the idea is that.
The experiment is just to see how difficult it would be to add an unsupported device to AOSP without having to make changes to core components of AOSP. I don't think Google will ever maintain updates for this phone, being in the NXT series from Sony, it comes with their own UI.

A few tweaks will make it fit for XS I guess...

[Q] Roms

I am on jelly bam Rom right now and I don't have any problems but one. Every now and then it will reboot. So I was on xda and some people like CyanogenMod 10.1 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. But they don't have a stable one only nightly. Do anyone know any stable roms out there that I can try. I have the Samsung Galaxy S III I9300.
Almost all AOSP ROMs are stable. Look in the development section. And don't discuss jelly bam on xda

Yaa i also don't know jelly bam......if u get to know tell me too.........and why not to discuss about it on xda?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
The latest JellyBAM ROM comes with the latest AOKP MR1 Build 6 ROM, CM10.1 RC0 ROM, and also ParanoidAndroid v.3.15 ROM. This is a “hybrid” ROM that’s a mix of those three ROMs
JellyBam developer was using others' work and claiming it as his own, so it is banned from xda. Don't use it, folks

All of them. It's subjective, and asking that question is against the rules

Android 4.3

So today I've read some news saying that is true that Samsung will ditch the 4.2.2 update in favor of the 4.3 update, bringing all those cool features like T.R.I.M and Open GL 3.0, my question for you guys is, when do you think we will see this update? Thank you for your response

R u asking abt wat android version to use or wat rom? If u are asking abt wat rom to use, it is not allowed in this forum.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Question and title makes no sense at all, version of Android makes little difference; only decision to make is stock based or aosp.
Try them yourself, make up your own mind and don't post the results.
Best rom threads are against the rules, although that wasn't strictly what you asked.

Ppl getting more 'creative' on asking best roms xD
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
4.1.2 was great and still is but i found 4.3 to be a lot more feature rich, there are many functions i really love... If you want to get best experience from 4.3 i would suggest you try 4.3 based stock Roms.. there are many in the forum ..i cannot specify as it goes against the rules of posting best ROM threads.. So give them a try. I am sure you will find a ROM to your liking !!
