what kind of backup method are you using ?
I think Titanium is a good choice.

P.S For system backup I used cwm recovery

HELP - wiped internal memory, lost pictures

I didn't backup my internal SD card and i lost my pictures while installing CM10. What program do you guys recommend to restore pictures if possible?
The only option is to send the phone to a company who does data restoring. AFAIK there are a couple of websites that do that with android phones, use search.
And why are you asking for HELP in General and not in the Help section?
Sorry, newb posting.
If anybody knows data restoration on flash memory, please let me know!
is that even possible just because some of your files were moved into /sdcard/0/ folder and some other didn't so you just don't see it in default ??
i have been situation like this as i first time install 4.2 on my Galaxy Nexus , but then i soon discovered the datas still in there just because my default is now /sdcard/0 so i didn't see it in the first place.

actually, no files are ever moved when flashing 4.2.
so OP, if you didn't wipe internal memory, your data is in /data/media/

[Q] Recover files from internal /sdcard/

Hello! I wiped my phone and then realised Nandroid doesn't backup /sdcard/ from the internal memory. I'd like to try and recover files from this folder. What's the best way to do this?
From my previous thread [Q] Restore files from Nandroid backup in the Android Q&A forum (where I discovered /sdcard isn't backed up), I tried various file recovery apps to no avail and began trying [GUIDE] Internal Memory Data Recovery - Yes We Can! from the Nexus forum. This guide got very complicated trying to change it to fit the S3 and replies in the thread went quiet. So S3 experts, I need a method for internal file recovery for the S3 i9300 please.
Many thanks!
Search and read, the same subject is covered many times.
There was a process for the S2 that works for the S3, where you raw export the whole 16gb partition to a pc for data recovery software to work.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
The only thing I could find was the [REF] S3 Storage (Data Loss Recovery / Prevention / Info) guide that says:
It's worth mentioning, NONE OF THE ABOVE will work with /sdcard on internal memory. It is not possible to get your data back once deleted from internal memory. Once gone, it's gone forever. You can only restore from /extSdCard (removable, external SDcard)

...which doesn't sound good!
I can't find the process for raw export you mentioned, unfortunately. I did a search in the S2 and S3 forums for 'raw export' and other variations, to no avail.
Edit: I'm currently running Recovering deleted files from internal memory of Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300). Will update on progress.

"System Data" taking most of my internal space

Hey everybody,
I got a SGS3 (I9300) rooted. I installed ROM twice since rooting my device (ultimate ROM and now I have CM11).
For some reason, the system data is taking about 70% of my internal storage.
I was looking for old backups from Titanium or ROM backup, but found nothing.
I added some photos from DiskUsage and from file explorer.
Thanks for help

Hey,
everytime I change ROM I see there is too many information that stay... after a wipe reset, pics stay, etc.
Now I've delete pics with my hand etc. but after that still only 18go available on 29 (I just install now LIneageOS)
How really delete all the files not important ?
if TWRP internal storage is the solution, How it work ? no lost of SD card info ? No lost of IMEI ?
Thanks to help me

The android system takes up huge space on the internal storage. Sometimes upto 8 GB. That's a little problem eith custom roms. There's really nothing you can fo about it. Use a SD card
