"System Data" taking most of my internal space - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everybody,
I got a SGS3 (I9300) rooted. I installed ROM twice since rooting my device (ultimate ROM and now I have CM11).
For some reason, the system data is taking about 70% of my internal storage.
I was looking for old backups from Titanium or ROM backup, but found nothing.
I added some photos from DiskUsage and from file explorer.
Thanks for help

Internal memory showing as 'Empty' in file explorer apps?

So this is quite peculiar guys..
Long story short, I decided to change my S3's ROM, so I normally flashed a new one. Before I flashed the ROM, I backed up everything using Titanium Backup and everything was fine,
Problem time.
I noticed the issue when I downloaded Titanium Backup again and tried to restore... IT SAID I HAD ZERO BACKUPS!
This really confused me, so I used 'Solid File Explorer' to check the Titanium Backup folder in the Internal Memory; all it showed was 'Empty'.
Even the pictures and music and other files I had all showed as 'Empty', EVEN THOUGH they're clearly present in the phone (E.g. my music is still there but just does not show in File Explorer).
There seems to be something wrong with the internal memory guys, but I haven't a clue what it is!
Any help would be much appreciated! :fingers-crossed:

[Q] device storage showing minus when trying to open gallery

My i9300 is nealy unusable. The first sign of trouble was a error message trying to open gallery on 4.1.2. I then flashed latest omegarom after wipeing everything didnt solve the problem just gives a better description.
"There is not enough space (-5371MB) in your device memory. Delete some files" In settings the internal storage has 5.36GB free. I have been trying out a few different roms over the last few days but have always full wiped.
Now a lot of my apps force close on launch. How can my internal storeage be showing to some apps as a minus but the system gets the correct free space. I did have a play around with ExtDs2InternalSd v5 but decided to to swap back.
Hope someone can help me..Thanx in advance..

Then this is your problem did you follow proper uninstall instructions for ExtDs2InternalSd v5 >> If you want to remove the mod with a file explorer with root ability, delete the file 11extsd2internalsd from etc/init.d folder <<
If that does not work you will need to flash new rom and full wipe..

Yes back up internal and external sd cards and format both..make sure you format any ext2 partitions on your external sd card with minitool partition wizard or equivalent formatting tool.

[Q] Old data after upgrade to CM11

Just recently upgraded from stock 4.1.2 to CM11 M3. I did backed up all the important data and programs, did wipe+reset, everything went fine and i really enjoy CM11, but there's a problem. I see all of my old data in /data/media and it takes a lot of space in my phone. I tried to deleting serate folders inside but Root File Manager crashes when attempting to do so. Is there anything i can do with it?
Thanks.

Instead of deleting have you followed this guide about moving folders >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/info-flashed-4-2-sdcard-data-t2274218 << if still having problems use another root explorer or if you backed up everything just format internal sd card ( You may need to flash a new rom again make sure it is on external sd card).

what kind of backup method are you using ?
I think Titanium is a good choice.
Another question can I install twrp recovery in my s2 plus.
P.S For system backup I used cwm recovery

Unable to save to Note 3 after restoring backup rooted rom

Hey guys
On my SM-N900W8 Note 3, I've had it running a rooted stock rom.
Yesterday I decided to try out Gummy Rom....did a backup in TWRP.....I also backed up all my apps with Titanium just to be safe.. wiped data....installed Gummy Rom....it just wasn't for me.
Wiped data again......restored my stock rooted rom that I've been using this whole time........phone booted up without a problem...SUCCESS! At least I thought success....started to notice some errors with some of the apps I have...
Wasn't able to get any of my snapchats....swiftkey was giving me errors.....then I tired to save a picture and saw that it had failed....strange
I Have several gigs available on my internal and external SD card....
Opening up Titanium....I can see that all folders, internal AND external say "This folder is not writable."
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Update: I've installed SDFix, and I can now save to my external SD card.....however I still can't save to my internal memory.
