I have to replace the Charging/OTG connector on my phone... Has anyone any guidelines for taking these phones apart? I've already ordered the parts, but in the meantime I have to figure out how to take the phone apart to install the new connector...

I have bought a new front assembly for my S3 i9300 on eBay. When it arrived I saw that it is a i9305 front. I have tried to connect it toghether and everything works.
The problem is that the assemby base has some holes in the wrong place for some of the chips on the board. Therefore the motherboard will not go down properly.
Is it possible to dremel out some pieces so the motherboard will fit better?
I know this a special solution and certainly not recommended, but is it possible?
Else I have to return this front and hope for my money back or a replacement front. Either way this will be a time consuming process...
Has anyone tried my little experiment above with success?
why ot return it since they advertised a and sold you b?

Because that would mean another 2-3 weeks without a working phone....
Dremel + Hammer + Araldite + Fingers Crossed is the alternative .
Yes it is possible, but requires modification.
I bought a secondhand i9300 cheaply because it said the screen was replaced and back cover did not fit properly anymore. I took it apart to try and fix it only to find out the screen has a big i9305 printed across the back.
I had to file down the ridges in the metal frame near the power switch and also had to shave a bit off the back plastic case to make it sit a bit lower so that the back cover was flush with the front.

Does anybody here know ANYTHING about this phone? I can get it for about 30$ from a friend. The problem is it's screen is shattered and I can't replace it because official s3 parts wont fit in this ugly housing. I was thinking about replacing it's whole body for the official one and then replacing screen glass but I'm not sure if parts will fit. This prototype appeared on the internet about 3 weeks before official s3 premiere so I hope it's in fact a final hardware design. Every help/info is appreciated.
Hey Folks,
I got a Galaxy Tab from a friend that has a defective mainboard, it is irreparable. So now I want to replace it by another one.
The only thing that could fit is that one:

The seller doesn't know if it fits. Can you confirm or tell me where I can find a replacement?
Thanks!!!

From where did you buy this device? If you ordered from Fastcardtech, then you have a 1 year warranty. :good:
My S6 Edge has taken liquid damage. I sent it off to Samsung to see if it could be repaired. They returned the phone back to me broken, stating that there is corrosion on the PBA components.
I've been looking around on the internet for a S6 Edge motherboard to see if swapping it out would help, but have not been able to find them for sale.
I've seen (literally) every other part / component of the phone for sale, except for the motherboard.
As someone new to smart phone repairs....is it that motherboards are prohibited from sale to the public, or I've just had terrible luck finding them?
If anyone can provide info on where I can find a retailer that sells motherboards for the S6 Edge, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Pretty sure everything is soldered on. Might as well buy a new phone.
