Does anybody here know ANYTHING about this phone? I can get it for about 30$ from a friend. The problem is it's screen is shattered and I can't replace it because official s3 parts wont fit in this ugly housing. I was thinking about replacing it's whole body for the official one and then replacing screen glass but I'm not sure if parts will fit. This prototype appeared on the internet about 3 weeks before official s3 premiere so I hope it's in fact a final hardware design. Every help/info is appreciated.

I brought a brand new S2 from Ebay, seller was great and it arrived in sealed conditon as described. Anyway love the phone however, I notice these smudges under the screen as described here:
http://www.wirefresh.com/update-on-the-samsung-galaxy-s2-screen-circle-issue/
So it should be under warranty but who do I contact?.Samsung to sort it out?.
Anyone please?
I plan on buying a new digitizer to replace the one on my phone since I manged to scratch it just before my screen protector arrived (there was a backlog of undelivered parcels at my post office, my screen protector should have been there BEFORE my phone -.-)
I'm pretty comfortable with the process of replacing the digitizer, but I've got a quick question (maybe not so quick to be honest.)
We should have all seen (and most likely drooled over) the new colours being released, I was wondering if a digitizer from the US Sprint or Verizon variants of the s3 would fit my uk/international s3? I'd love to get my hands on the silver digitizer and back plate, but I don't want to fork out £200 to find out it doesn't fit!
Is there anyone who could shed some light on this? would carrier specific radios be located on the back of the digitizer or something?
Cheers!
If you buy a new digitiser ..... Don't throw the old one ...I will buy it from you..

Hey, first time posting here, so let me thank you all in advance for just responding.
I've been looking all around for a description of where the actual digitizer is on the Samsung Galaxy S III. And so far I've found vague views of what it is and where it is. I've taken apart and repaired iPhones before and the digitizer is usually attached to the front panel glass but when I took apart a Galaxy S III, I couldn't find where the digitizer is. When I tried looking on shopping sites for a replacement of the front glass with the digitizer, all I've seen were the front glass with just the two touch buttons attached at the bottom and no signs of the actual digitizer that I'm familiar with in the iPhones.
So plain and simple, my question is where is the digitizer on the Samsung Galaxy S III?

In ebay or amazon you find, glass only about 20 boxes and the set i9300 LCD Screen + Touch Digitizer about 190~200 boxes
use this search words i9300 LCD Screen Touch Digitizer
there is in youtube too.
best regards,
I want to change the front glass from S II (digitizer I guess) but I can't find any guide online, I only get full screen replacement guides, so I searched for S III and it have s couple of guides, I have some experience taking apart phones (I changed the front glass too for my old Droid Bionic and iPhone 3gs) but i am a bit scared about put some heat on the screen and i dont know what glue it needs, so somebody knows how to do all this crap?

Digitizer is heavily glued with the lcd itself, chances are very small that u will succeed to replace only the digitizer, wothout doing damage to the lcd.All those auctions on ebay are...nearly scams, because it's almost impossible to separate digitizer and lcd, don't fall for it. I have tried to do this on HTC HD2 and fail.

Hey guys I've recently cracked my screen and the touch doesn't work any more so I need anew screen! Unfortunately I didn't purchase insurance when I bought the phone. I asked my operator how much they charge for a replacement and they quoted me £240 which I can't afford right now, I noticed there's a lot of cheaper options on ebay but I feel they probably wont be the orignal screen even though many state they are, one thing I've noticed is most don't state they are ips, is this why they are so much cheaper, if I order off of ebay will I be getting an inferior screen?
Bump, anyone?

Never buy only the glas. You won't have the tools to seperate the glas from the LCD. (This works on Samsung devices with a hairdryer and a sucker, but not on sonys sh*tty sh*tty displays )
I dropped my Z2 2 weeks after i bought it, from about 30cm and had a little crack on the lower half of the display and touch wasn't working anymore.
Repair costed me 200 €
I also have a Samsung Galaxy S3. There is missing an around 5 cm big peace of the glas and the touch is still working... even at the position, where the LCD is directly touched, its wokring! -.- poor Sony.

Thanks for the info, I wont try be trying to remove the glass myself I have a repair shop near me that can do that, I'm more worried about getting the proper screen as I was quoted £240 to get a repair by my carrier, but I've seen screens for a lot less on ebay but was wondering if the screens were just inferior knock offs or whether my carrier was simply charging so much just to keep me inside my warranty
