Hi everyone!
I'v just got the phone and unlocked its bootloader and rooted it, the discovered that i need to get the s-off aswell, I searched for days in the internet but coudn't find nothing that may help . Can anybody please tell me how do I do that?

there ant no s,off 4 this device yet. i believe that it is being worked on..why do u need s.off 4 mate

I need the s-off thing for some apps like freedom to work on my device...
have you heard of sunshine? thats how i got my htc desire 610 s-off. license is 25$

trying to unlock my wifes bootloader via htcdev website. i got to the token part received the email and the phone isnt registering as being unlocked. any ideas what im doing wrong. i know she has hboot 1.5 if that helps. thanks guys.

If you are having issues and are getting phone unlocked in ADB but no choice to pick unlock phone. Just sits there in hboot and your phone is updated to 2.17 you will need to this http://www.filefactory.com/file/c19...216_NV_NV_spcs_1.42_release_233304_signed.exe
Use this it will fix your issue.

Nope this is what fixed everyone else that had the issue I had to dig through the threads to see what worked for the few folks I helped.
Sorry for the delay been diggin for the info.
ok so i assume its just a file for the computer then or how does it work? sorry for the questions...im not a noob ....just new to the htc. and quite possible leaving my motorola droid razr for an htc phone...lol

Yes, there are 3 ways
1. Softwate/OTA update from HTC (Officially)
2. S-OFF your Desire X and use a modified P66IMG.zip to manually flash hboot update.
3. Use an RUU for Hboot update (if available)

As far as i know option two (S-OFF) isn't possible for Desire X as of yet, and option three (a JB RUU) hasen't been released.
So we're just left with option one. Do i miss something?

You can only update hboot via OTA update, and for that, you need stock Rom, like it was before rooting, and stock recovery. Then you'll get the hboot update to 1.24 and then 1.25 hopefully.

Its htc__038
is anyone besides V6 maniac working on the s-off ? I woulda thought s-off would be one of the first few things people would of worked on after disabling write protection and rooting the phone or am I wrong ?

s-off involves high risk of bricking the device thats why devs stay from it and its very hard to attain s-off as it requires lot of hardware knowledge.. leavin aside some fancy mods, we can still do alot of development without s-off

ohok didnt realise it was that hard to do also when a device is bricked due to this does that mean using a JTAG recovery thing, (I saw one of the guys in the elegancia rom post meantion this) would not recover a bricked phone ?

jtag should allways be able to recover any bricked device (thats kinda point of using it)
oohk just got the idea that it didnt always work although the JTAG thing I was looking at did several things like S-OFF supercid etc

You're not stupid, just not reading much.
Yes, you need a stock ROM with everything intact (not even a single file is missing).

I recently tried an experiment. My bro Huawei phone got ota but as he had modified system apps, the ota failed. His ota also had firmware and hboot update (89mb)
I opened the ota zip, in updater script removed all assert checks, and then flashed ota, and it completed, even his firmware and hboot got updated. Have we ever tried fooling HTC stock recovery ?

It was not working for One X ... so I believe the same for DX ... the write protection thingy.

It was locked but i followed site called htcdev method and now it's unlocked
i want to install another room on it which can be rooted and unlocked network
i want to ask what's the needed steps now ? and give me links about how i can do the steps ?

Not S-OFF for Desire X yet.

No need to s-off.
Flash a custom recovery.
Flash your custom Rom.
Follow instructions and TAKE BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING AT ALL .....

Any news about Revone S-OFF by team Revolutionary? It seems it's working on a lot of HTC devices. :fingers-crossed:

I could go there in IRC, but I can't test it on my phone with the risk of bricking it, so someone else is needed for testing...

I don't use my desire x and don't really care about it. Should I test revone s-off? Only if you guys really really need s-off. Dont just say you want it because some say so. I'm still risking a phone here.
If its a yes, please give me a link to the necessary files. As I have super slow internet atm. And I cannot load up several pages to find it. Used up all my data usage again >.>.

Are you using sunshine apk ? Its the only method out there , and it costs 25 $ .

If you have hboot 2.49 I believe the only way to achieve s-off is to use 'Sunshine' which costs $25. Firewater servers are closed so you can't use that anymore.
woowwww that bad, am a foreigner and live outside the United States and get 25 dollars is very difficult, is there any way to do it for free?

Hi Flyhalf205.I am writing to you because recently i found that my Htc One Max needs to be returned to warranty but the phone is rooted with a custom rom.The problem is that i need to remove the tampered and unlocked flags also to return it completely stock so i can return it to warranty.Yesterday i started researching how to remove these flags but i found that my phone is S-ON and it must be S-OFF to start with the process.There is a rumrunner.us site where i can S-OFF my phone (downloaded the Universal Version rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0.zip) it says to me that i need to update the program otherwise i wont be able to S-OFF my phone and remove the Tampered,Unlocked flags.Can you please write down a message to me where u have explained how to proceed....If you also have some toolkit that could help me i will be thankful.
