hi everyone on XDA, i need some help with my WiFi.. (S3 I9300)
my WiFi is always full bar when i'm near the router or either far from it.
the problem is my S3 only work to access internet if i go near the router (0.5 meter range)
and if i go a bit further(2-3 meters away) which is still full bar my S3 wont be able to access internet anymore..
and i checked on my other device which all working just fine with the router.. so it is not my router problem..
so, anyone else having the same problem? how do i fix this unique problem.? ( cant find in google for solution )
note: i already disabled wifi power savings *#0011# and nothing changed still same problem occurring.
are you in stock rom or have modified your phone?
have you try to flash another modem base on your country region?

we are in indonesia and you in malaysia haven't get the latest update, if you want we can use the latest modem from germany..
basically to instal modem is just put it in your external sd card and then flash it with philz_recovery or via odin

not always, but base on my experience mostly it because you had dirty flash without cleaning wipe at first flashing or if you have weak signal it because the modem not base on our region.

Wifi is kernel related not modem if it is really important you could try changing kernels or even roms

Lol. Flash a Kernel modem as nothing to do with wifi your modem is for your mobile signal

Good move Just make sure you backup everything and i mean everything efs data rom etc please also read the guides in the stickies if you have not done this before.

just flashed boeffla kernel for v 4.3 android. still no luck getting the Wi-Fi to work..

Most likely then it could be hardware related especially if it was working before.Have you tried on someone else's router to see if it connects ok to theirs? Have you tried changing router channels?

all the routers configuration done before.. but still no luck.. so if my hardware is problematic.. can we repair the wifi card? is it possible?

i have MIUI 2.9.29
the modem i had was JKLF4
i tried flashing through CWM the JKLH3 , it flashed ok but since then i get NO SERVICE and no signal all the time
i tried flashing back to JKLF4 and it did flash it back but still i get no signal
IMEI is ok
what to do ?

CWM doesnt back up the modem..you modem would be the same it was before..flash the earlier modem you had working..or try different modems..

i tried all sorts of modem from the modem collection page here on xda
those modems used to work when i had a different rom but still, is there a way maybe to extract the modem from the ZIP file of miui rom ?
i tried searching modem.bin inside the miui zip file but theres none.
if theres no modem.bin file in it then does that means it uses the existing modem ?
if so then il need to revert back to the rom i had before miui ? or just revert to stock rom ?
ive flashed stock rom and still nothing
also, on mobile networks menu i cannot see any networks to choose from

fixed by NSPRO box
but still i dont know what caused this

There is a solution to update currently you dont need to use NSPRO.. Android is freedom dont be constant..
Dont stick to NSPRO you can use my patch everytime when your network gone
i would gladly try your patch only i already used NSPRO to fix it
right now im just glad my phone is working again

Try the latest XXEMB5... your modem XXLEF isn't compatible with your ROM that's why you having call issues... any modem prior to LFB aren't compatible with latest ROMs

Hello people.
So heres the deal,
I got an Samsung Galaxy s2 (handheld,not blacklisted) from Ireland,from a friend.I dont know which carrier he used there,but the phone worked.
Now it is become weird,I want to use an Latvian sim card,out it in,but it can not connect to service provider,checked wit galaxsim app,no locks are present at all.Then I tried rom flashing,did some stock 4.0.3,4.1.2 and nothing,tried cyanogenmod,nothing,returned to stock 4.1.2.
Rooted the phone,busybox present,checked with several apps again,no locks,but neither does it connect to any Latvian networks.
I got an Estonian sim card,so for an experiment,I inserted it,and guess what,it connected to the network and i could make a call,send sms etc.
So im confused what is with this crappy S2,that he doesnt like latvian networks,but accepts simcards anyway.
Any Ideas to fix it so it does connect to all networks?

Have you tried installing a new modem? You can also try hawkerpauls nuke, maybe it has something to do with your friends modifications. Also, search any problems related to Latvian networks, maybe it's a known problem.

Did you try an other sim from your country/operator? sounds more like your sim is damaged somehow...

hmmm well then i'd say that another modem also didn't work, right? as cm has another ril as stock, and modems get flashed when you flash a stock firmware... well were the stock fw's you flashed sock odexed ones from your country/operator?

yep,I did.I have 1 friend from sammobile who has helped me earlier,and he provided me everything for my country.
Results 0,so I tossed that samsung away,and said to my friend to search in services for a solution or use it as mp3 :laugh:
He got that piece of crap for 15 Euro anyway :laugh:

My Mega6.3 GT-I9200 [XXUAMED] XSG BOUGHT IT FROM UAE...
In March 18 OTA Update it got in to some Problem.[Boot loop]
I was not rooted. No EFS backup..
Then I tried to Flash My Stock ROM..with Odin3.09 it flashed well..
but showing BASEBAND UNKNOWN with NULL ...IMEI Number...
I tried all updates of [XSG-region] but same thing Happened....
Then I approched service Centre....[Private]
They have done it with BASEBAND Version : I9200XXUCML1 with 4.2.2
KERNEL VERSION : 3.4.0

Now I am getting only EDGE/GPRS....

I am having one BSNL SIM and AIRCEL sim
While selecting Network Opertors it is not showing any of the service provider.
Then I will do search networks
it will start searching nothing will comeout.
sometimes willl show Cellone,IDEa,airtel
If I am putting BSNL Sim ...sometimes it will not registering on the network.
sometimes it will register...then I can make outgoing call...but Incoming I am not getting....its getting forwarded...
aircel is not at all showing for selecting...
Help me.....

I think now you can install TeamWin Projects (TWRP). Because it is your own scared about IMEI..

One day night full I got 3g...the very next day it starts with searching network problem...
If I m changing SIM to other phone it works well but slight coverge prob is there...
I want to do a try with my stock modem ...I dont know it will work or not...

Before flashing I made backup with TWRP with EFS,without EFS
and EFS but no one is restoring my EFS.
You may have provided the wrong modem. Flash the one I sent you earlier.

Thank u silesh....both came back.
The network problem is still there.
Is there any other way to rectify this.
Actually in my other phone while searching networks
almost all service providers r showing. But in mega
Only 3 r listing. Bsnl,airtel,spice....earlier before the problem starts mega
also was able to show all providers.
Also I want to ask some doubts abt slimkat.
1. While making calls screen goes off. In stock ROM some
option was there to change.
2. While setting wallpaper it will show properly. After some
time the wallpaper will zoom somewhat.
Anything to correct...

I have tried lot of different ROMS and Kernels and patches etc. I haven;t copied anything from my original native ROM from GSM operator.
I suppose that I have problems with signal as I have low signal level in big city, I also have problems with 3g internet network.
What should I check/ override ? I think that kernel ? Is that anyone could link me propper kernel for use in Poland? If not kernel any other package - as I remember in old, Windows Mobile devices that was something called 'RADIO'
I also have problems with random restarts, no signalling of incoming calls, random switches to plane mode and battery drain.
Please help...

Dont`t do that! if u have unlocked bootloader you will get brick. Use flashtool to flash newest firmware
oops I forgot that he has unlocked bl, so you need to flash only baseband via flashtool, find it here

install flashtool & drivers then reboot,
download ftf,
copy to firmwares folder,
power off your phone
run flashtool, select flashmode choose ftf file from firmwares [there is a dialog box appears in flashtool]
then connect phone to usb with holding back button
