[Q] GPE and ElemntalX Kernal - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Hey I just wanted to know if it was ok to flash GPE 4.4 and ElementalX Kernal? I'm looking for good battery life and have had nice luck with this set up - Mahdi Rom and ElementalX on my Nexus 5, which is my work phone. Also, could you provide a link to GPE 4.4 because i'm not sure if i'm looking in the correct thread. Thanks so much .

Yes it is perfectly fine to flash a GPE ROM with ElementalX kernel. On the link part, all I could find is this but I don't believe it's 4.4.4. You can look yourself if you like, I was just trying to give a quick response since no one else did yet.

[Q] LG G2 stock kernal

I feel like I ought to start by saying a big thank you to all the great devs that keep us (me!) In great Roms. THANKS!
Now to the question, I've looked around but have not seen a stock g2 kernal to flash yet. Of all the roms I've tried on this device so far, the stock ROM has given the best CPU performance and I would like to take that with me a more customized ROM.
Does a stock g2 kernal exist out there to flash?
Thanks all and keep up the good work!

[Q] Will the new ota help make custom roms more stable?

I was just wondering if now that there is a 4.4.2 ota out for the DNA that it will make the custom roms more stable? I updated to it and kept root and it doesn't seem to be any different and I hate the stock ui. Want to go back to a custom Rom but they all seem to have some issue or other that gets old over time so I end up crack flashing everything on here every few days haha.

Yea I saw that a couple days ago. Guess I worded it wrong. Now that the droid has a stock 4.4.2 will the developers be able to take whatever parts they need from it to fix the bugs etc on custom roms? Or will the DNA having the 4.4.2 radio and kernels etc will it make the custom roms such as the m7 and m8 ports and Google editions of 4.4.2 more stable?
HTC did in fact release the 442 kernel source, so new 442 Roms will be stable and I can fix z and my beast mode kernel

4.4.2 Sense based ROMs definitely should be much better. The CM based ones probably not a big difference.

[FIX][Oversharpening][All Variants] Stock kernel with oversharpening fix.

Many of you know exactly what "oversharpening" is... for those who not, just google "g3 oversharpening" or check this article.
After hours spent trying almost everything i finally managed to remove that. Check in the 2nd thread to see the difference.
Here you go... just flash the kernel in recovery but remember to make a backup of the boot partition before, just in case it will not works.
Remember... the only weird thing is that you have to turn off the screen and then on again to make it works. Just the 1st time after the boot.

tnx to @Tectas for the kernel source
Thank you for the development. I almost feel like this is a dumb question, but this kernel is for stock roms only, correct?

Hello. Is the only change to the stock kernel the over sharpening ?
Is the VS985 version 12b?

I don't believe so as 12b came out after this was posted/created. It would be awesome if @Skin1980 would update the kernel to the latest version (pretty please?!?).

Um, I thought it was 12b actually. I was running this for a while before switching to the SkyDragon kernel.

Not as far as I can tell. The kernel was uploaded on 11/24. 12B came out on or after 12/5: http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-g3-update-brings-advanced-calling-verizon-customers
not sure if 12b kernel is needed to get advanced calling to work or not, I've never been able to make it work for me. The build date of the stock kernel for 12b is October '14 if I remember so they may not have even made any updates to it, not sure what the build date/number of 11C was. So there really may not even be a need to update this one, but we always want to be on the latest hotness right?!? :cyclops:
Pretty please? The stock deodexed 12b is already out there and I'd really like the stock kernel fixed to match.

I went ahead and tried flashing this on stock 12b, and it works perfectly. No issues at all so far.
How is this working with 23C (lollipop)?

Just install the SkyDragon 4.1 Kernel. It has an oversharpening fix integrated in to it, and it works extremely well

[Q] Best ROM+Kernel combination?

Yo! What do you guys think is the best combination to get reasonable battery life and good performance? Im getting 59k on antutu using AICP ROM and stock kernel. Do you think i could get more with some custom kernel ?
I am just using stock since Pure Android is what I want, with ElementalX kernel. Using ElementalX on my Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and GPE HTC One M8 and love it. I look forward to Xposed working with Android 5.1 and N9 being updated. I used to flash ROMs, but on Google devices Xposed is more then enough.

Im using AICP5.1.1 Rom on my N9.. Is it possible to just flash the elemental kernel without messing with the rom itself?

I'm on Dirty Unicorns with Fire - Ice kernel. Insanely stable and the most functional of the ROMs I have used.
As far as just running a kernel, yes you certainly can just flash the kernel w/o changing to a different ROM. But what's the point in that??

Can you please explain me that? Im still a noobie I tought that just by flashing elementalX kernel on my N9 I could improve AICP and overall tablet performance. I guess im totally wrong xD

Sorry when you asked the question, I didn't realize you were already on a non stock ROM. AICP already has it's own customized kernel. Yes you can flash any other custom kernel in place of the one which comes with AICP.

Looking for very simple, optimized stock 4.4.4 ROM

Hello everyone,
I have now been using Cyanogenmod 13.0-2016127 for awhile and I need something simpler. This ROM is full of bugs and I really just want something that works.
I am looking for a stripped-down (no bloatware, optimization tweaks would be a plus) stock Kitkat 4.4.4 ROM for the Moto E (1st generation). I think it's the XT-1021, it only has one SIM card slot.
I found this page, but it's only for the XT-1022
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/development/flashable-zip-stock-deodexed-rom-moto-e-t2823368
I have been poking around but so far all I've found is SlimKat 4.4.4, another version of cyanogenmod, and clockworkmod. I don't know how stable any of these are and I'm not interested at all in any custom ROMs at this point. All I want is a slimmed down stock ROM. Can anybody please help me find one, if it is out there?
Alternatively, a regular old vanilla stock ROM would be acceptable if no stripped-down versions are available. I haven't been able to find this either, I can only find it for the XT-1022!
Thank you.
Lollipop roms are very stable . you can use stock lollipop ROM or mokee ROM which is odexed and very stable . http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?uk=675898618&shareid=3414102494&third=0&adapt=pc&fr=ftw

Thank you very much satanas. I will try installing that 4.4.4 ROM for US retail XT-1023 tonight and I will post the results.
I was trying a cyanogenmod 4.4.4 for the past few days, but mobile data is completely disabled and it cannot use a SD for internal storage so those are two major problems.
Here's a couple more simple questions.
1. Is there a stripped-down version of the stock ROMs that satanas just linked to? That would be awesome!
2. Is there anyway to relock my boot loader and restore my warranty after I reinstall a stock 4.4.4 ROM?
Thank you all!

Seems to be some tutorials but never tested...by the way, keep in mind that Motorola already knows your phone is unlocked !!! They gave you the code to do so !!!
That's the game, in fact...don't be to worried, these Moto's are really good stuff...Of course, you have to follow procedures carefully if you want everything perfect
