Hello everyone,
I have now been using Cyanogenmod 13.0-2016127 for awhile and I need something simpler. This ROM is full of bugs and I really just want something that works.
I am looking for a stripped-down (no bloatware, optimization tweaks would be a plus) stock Kitkat 4.4.4 ROM for the Moto E (1st generation). I think it's the XT-1021, it only has one SIM card slot.
I found this page, but it's only for the XT-1022
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/development/flashable-zip-stock-deodexed-rom-moto-e-t2823368
I have been poking around but so far all I've found is SlimKat 4.4.4, another version of cyanogenmod, and clockworkmod. I don't know how stable any of these are and I'm not interested at all in any custom ROMs at this point. All I want is a slimmed down stock ROM. Can anybody please help me find one, if it is out there?
Alternatively, a regular old vanilla stock ROM would be acceptable if no stripped-down versions are available. I haven't been able to find this either, I can only find it for the XT-1022!
Thank you.
Lollipop roms are very stable . you can use stock lollipop ROM or mokee ROM which is odexed and very stable . http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?uk=675898618&shareid=3414102494&third=0&adapt=pc&fr=ftw

Thank you very much satanas. I will try installing that 4.4.4 ROM for US retail XT-1023 tonight and I will post the results.
I was trying a cyanogenmod 4.4.4 for the past few days, but mobile data is completely disabled and it cannot use a SD for internal storage so those are two major problems.
Here's a couple more simple questions.
1. Is there a stripped-down version of the stock ROMs that satanas just linked to? That would be awesome!
2. Is there anyway to relock my boot loader and restore my warranty after I reinstall a stock 4.4.4 ROM?
Thank you all!

Seems to be some tutorials but never tested...by the way, keep in mind that Motorola already knows your phone is unlocked !!! They gave you the code to do so !!!
That's the game, in fact...don't be to worried, these Moto's are really good stuff...Of course, you have to follow procedures carefully if you want everything perfect

You can try the new AOKP build. Vibrantmtd is once supported again instructions for installing the rom are listed in the thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208126.
As far as GPS is concerned it is either a hit or miss...might work or it might not. Unfortunately I am not able to test it since my vibrant is bricked
But I can tell you that AOKP is an excellent rom I been using it for nearly a year now since I bought my Galaxy Nexus. It is far much better than ICS passion in every aspect. Never had any problems with it.
As for the kernel I can't really say which one I would recommend since I honestly can't ever recall flashing a kernel for my vibrant...I've always used the kernels that are included in the ROM(S).
Just remember to backup your apps...because you will lose them in the process since this is not an update...it is more of an upgrade(4.0.3 to 4.2.2).
Good luck and feel free to ask any more questions.

The ROM will update you straight to 4.2.2. I don't think you need to be on 4.1 to update or any other version for that matter. Just flash the ROM through recovery and you should be good to go. Good luck.
You can use my cyanaosp build which is reported to have good gos from many users http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167819
Or you can use my rootbox port which also has great gps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167857

Thank you for the answer for the old question.
I want to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167927 this.
I have epinter CM10.1 now.
What I need to do?
Do I need just enter the CWM and wiped everything and then flash the zip file?
or I need to do something more?
OLD:
I rooted my device with some quick root tool. (I don't remember where I found the guild).
I have unlocked my bootloader too. (I don't really remember but I think I made that with a guild from androidadvices. His title is :"How to Unlock Motorola Atrix 4G Mobile Phone")
My device is bought from ORANGE. (I think that I belong to Bell's group of ROMs. not AT&T).
I have flashed CM10 by epinter and then CM10.1 by epinter.
Now I want to give the phone to my little brother and I want to flash a ROM with all the webtop apps and blur apps.
I want a ROM with the minimum bugs. I prefer based of official 2.3.6 ROM
What ROM can you suggest me?
Do I need to do some changes with the phone before wipeing everything in the CWM and flashing ROMs ?
Thanks ahead.
This is based on 2.3.6 and is an updated version of a rom that many of us used for a long time as our daily driver.

Did you find fastboot files for it?

You might brick it ...Not sure though!
I'm use XT910s (GSM).
You can install on it.
But you have to erase cid for install other country device's firmware (GSM).

I'm not sure how to determine which file "fastboot" or rom are compatible. On my previous phone, it was possible to flash diferent country ROMS Seems this may not be the case here?

Interesting. Does this mean every time you power on, you have to do the power vol. up vol. down? I thought you needed to keep the CID.
Also, my understanding is that you can flash non-official ROMs and keep the CID. Is that the case or are you using non official ROMs?
I found a site online suggesting to flash the international ROM on the Razr, then you can go from there, but the links to the apps to do the upgrade don't work for me. Any thoughts on this path?

Mike

Firmwares are all listed here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/
I have a XT910K (Korea Telecom) and I bricked it with wrong firmware...only way I could revive it was by deleting the CID and flashing taiwanese stock JB 4.1.2.via RSD Lite..After that, I rooted it, installed Safestrap and now I have stock JB + Resurrection KK + Liquid Smooth KK + CM 11 KK, booting and working perfectly. So, beware of what you flash as/on stock, and once you have custom recovery as Safestrap or BMM, you can flash whatever you want.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm assuming you're recommending to go with Safestrap and install a 2nd OS. Couple of questions.
1: Were you able to uninstall any of the Korean specific apps? Wanted to know if there is a list of safely removeable apps.
2: Which OS do you prefer? I'm looking for performance and battery.
Thanks.

Yes, I can recommend Safestrap since I haven't had a single problem with it so far.
1. You can uninstall any app as soon as you root your device (use Titanium Backup Pro, for example)
2.I keep one JB 4.2.2 rom and a few 4.4.2 roms on my device...since KK roms are "polished" enough now, there is no difference in performance or battery life. I would suggest KK, since it's the newest version with all features included. Roms I can recommend are Resurrection Remix, Liquid Smooth, SlimKat, Mokee OSP, Pacman etc, not necessarily in that order. My daily driver atm is Resurrection, fast, smooth and stable.

Take a look at Galaxy Alpha Android Development
so I got this galaxy s5 (free) to replace the S4 I had.. I'm on AT&T and the S5 is a T-Mobile device.. I unlocked and am currently using on AT&T without any issues.. I tried Cyanogenmod 12 on it.. had way too many Bluetooth music issues.. so I switched back to a rooted t-mobile stock.. which is terrible.. bluetooth music works great but everything is is painfully slow.. so I want to find a good fast custom rom (that also has proper bluetooth music support).. With so many device versions and so many custom roms I'm just a bit perplexed.. I found some that are debloated stock roms which seem like that would be good. but I'm just a bit confused on what parts I need to have as "t-mobile g900t" and which parts I don't have to have that way? so yeah this is a bit of a newbie question (even though I have run 4 or 5 custom roms in the past (original galaxy s and my s4 both had custom roms). .but those were always at&t devices on at&t network.. so was an easier choice..
at any rate.. looking for some tips on how to best find the right rom.. Would love to do this today/tomorrow.. avoid messing with the phone during the work week..
Thanks in advance!!
Gary
Try the latest stock ROM for the phone. Many of us were having issues with lag with prior 5.1.1 ROMS. The latest ROM has fixed all these issues. Very snappy.
i feel like i remember seeing bluetooth/audio fixes & updates in the CM13 nightly changelogs, you also didnt specify which CM 12 you installed... the last 12.1 snapshot from october or the last nightly from december?
You can run whatever rom you want. If it works with KLTE it works on your phone. Check the S5 unified development. Cyanogen has always been crap on this phone, probably always will be. Try an AOSP based one like Tesla or TipsyOS (probably won't find them on this site, they post all of their roms on their Google+ page)
Unfortunately the only Marshmallow available for this phone so far is CM-13 based so it's also crap and full of bugs...
To be honest, no ROM you find will be perfect. The most stable thing I've found is to just use a rooted stock ROM and debloat the hell out of it then run Google Now launcher or Nova and forget that you have a Samsung device for a while, until the next OTA comes out and you have to do the process over again.

much improved deep sleep battery means crap & full of bugs? i'm over a week behind on nightlies & there arent that many bugs... http://www.cmxlog.com/13/klte/ things are improving all the time, only CM 12.1 is stuck... but the last december nightly isnt buggy either
Sort of forgot about this thread. first Thanks for the replies.. So I have been using CM13 since I posted this.. and this has great for speed.. but BlueTooth continues to suck.. no matter what bluetooth device I use with this Rom it skips and stutters. I've finally had enough.. it's been quite a long time with this issue so time for me to switch.. I will try one of the rooted stock roms and debloat it with one of those tools.. thanks again everyone!

Go to the international s5 site look at Tamirda's phoenix rom . It's 6.0.1 mm very snappy very few bugs. Very moddable. Just load a stock mm rom from here first than so you have the proper bootloader and modem. After installing you feel like you got a mini s7. Good good.

If you have the mm bootloader and modem installed just wipe and flash. But I believe cm 13 could be ran on the lp bootloader. I odined the stock tar first that way you know all the partitions are proper. Than Odin Twrp 3 0.0 . Make sure you back up your data from internal storage because when you Odin factory package it wipes phone storage. I learned this the hard way lost a bunch of pictures lol anyway I found this to be the best way. Hoping this helps....

Get any phone info app and check and see if your bootloader ends in pe1 if it don't you don't have mm bootloader. Teamwin is twrp just make sure it's version 3.0.0 that version seems to do best with the phoenix rom.

thanks for sticking with me on the all the newbie questions.. bootloader version reported as G900TUV1FOG6.. later in the list it shows Latest Firmware: G900TUVUGPE1/G900TTMBGPE1/G900TUVU1GPE1.. so at first I was thinking I was ok.. but that second entry had me wondering.. (dang.. just noticed this was never submitted (from 6/28).. oh well)..
ok.. So I assumed I'm good to go.. installed the latest TWRP (3.0.2).. wiped the data area and tried to flash Phoenix.. It starts installing Aroma.. and within a couple of seconds the phone reboots back into TWRP.. did this a few times.. rebooting into the OS gets me a new Cyanagenomod not Phoenix.. figure I must be missing a step somewhere (or have something that is preventing Phoenix from installing).. thoughts?
thanks again!!

I think you still don't have the correct bootloader . The firmware is mm because your using CM13. The easiest way to get it done for sure is to odin the official MM firmware. Than install Twrp 3.0.0 flash superuser to have root . Reboot in recovery and flash phoenix rom v12.0 than the 12.6 update. This may take extra time this way but all the partitions will be correct. Or odin bootloader in BL slot and modem in cp slot . Don't set for auto reboot pull battery back into download mode Odin Twrp pull battery. Reboot into recovery than flash superuser. Than flash phoenix. Good luck

OK.. you may be right.. I downgraded TWRP to 3.0.0 and the install started working fine.. but now the reboot into Phoenix has been going for about 35 mins.. I know it can take some time but that seems extreme.. will wait a bit longer and if it doesn't work I'll try the steps you listed above..
thanks again

Gary look in this general section for the post that instructs you how to install factory mm. Follow the guide. Google to see how to install factory tar files using Lunix . I'm guessing my instructional writing skills leave something to be desired lol . Once you have the factory mm up and running install Twrp flash superuser reboot. Than reboot into recovery flash phoenix rom. Good good
