Hi When download finish it got some errors and once I extract the zip file and found that many files are missing. Anyone got issue like me?
There is a zip file with filename "pradai_row-ota-P780_ROW_8G_S222_140817.zip_WITH_EBR.zip" inside the target_bin folder, can I delete that away ?
It should not have any impact on flashing right ?

File size is too big ...1.6 GB !!?? Anyway I decided to download and try. Yes, I also have a problem with the downloaded file. I tried downloading twice. On both the occasions, when I tried to unzip the folder, it is throwing error message as follows for all files :
Unknown method in S222_8GB\P780_ROW_S222_140817\apdb\APDB_MT6589_S01_KK1.MP5_...

If you can complete download in anyway but got error while extracting. I run Windows 7 right click at zip file then choose 7 zip to extract.

Successfully installed and also got OTA update done for S223. Genie failed to root. VRoot worked. Lower versions of Titanium back up is unable to locate apk file. Higher versions of Titanium back up is stuck on 'checking for root elevation''. Theme center not showing online content but only the couple of local themes. Switching from Dalvik to ART works.

okay, i figured out the problem why it doesnt flash. i cant install the driver even if i manage to catch it in device manager. Win8 wont allow me to install the driver after the device disconnect. pls advise.

The driver should be installed in this way:
1. plug in the phone
2. the driver should appear like an autorun(one exe file)
3. install driver, double click etc etc next next
4. in device manager it is normal to appear like 1 or 2 seconds max, it is not an error.
5. after you install the driver turn off your phone
6. plug in the cable in the computer and in the phone
7. the driver should install automaticaly.
Tell me if something goes wrong.

Alright so in the middle of setting up my phone to flash, i formatted system, boot, wiped data and factory reset and what not then accidently selected reboot system. For some odd reason after that it just got stuck on the vibrant screen. I cant get it into recovery but I can get it into download mode however when trying to odin back to stock my computer does not recognize my phone and odin does not pick it up. I was running MIUI-NB "smart meets smoothness" and have GB bootloaders from using passion v8. any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Hmm format /boot and reboot was bad, at least you got download mode so not hard brick.
Make sure you have proper drivers is all I can think of (some AOSP rom need nexus driver)

how do i install those?
1. Download the file and extract it to your desktop.
2. Find android_usb.inf.
3. Right click android_usb.inf and click install.
4. Connect your phone and see if it works.

Sorry you have to break it down so much, but when I right click the file to install a pop up comes up saying that "The INF file selected does not support this method of installation," any ideas? thank you for your help

1. Start menu -> Right click My computer (or computer if you're on Vista +) click on manage.
2. Find something you think your phone is (It's usually an unknown driver.. it might say Vibrant.. or something.)
3. Right click it.
4. Update driver.
5. Install from a list or specific location.
6. Don't search. I will choose the drivers to install.
7. Hard disk..

To unbrick it, I need the phone rom.
The problem is I can't find it anywhere
It's a mini s4 clone, it has 512Mb RAM but very small internal space
the only ROM I found is for f9192 that has 4G of inernal space and it doesn't work.
Can anyone please help? I need a ROM I can use in SP flash tool.

The problem is I expected to install a file from the rar to install with recovery and the rar have many folders and files and do not know how to install it.

remove the battery , see if it helps.
if it disconnect wait it to reconnect
just play with it.
I managed to get the smartphone to stay connected to the pc by holding the power button, vol+ and vol-.
The problem now is that the link above is an update and I need the stock rom to get repair my phone.

its quite easy just unplug the battery sd card and sims from the phone and then connect the usb cable, unrar the file that i uploaded and install the drivers open the sp flash tools and select the scatter file from the rom folder press f9 and sit back and enjoy your phone. :laugh: :highfive:

i followed the steps to update my lenovo p780 to kitkat version
i did everything as given in the following steps for installing TWRP but after the step switch off phone->click reset button and connect to pc,my phone is not getting detected by the flash tool at all.i waited for 2 hrs but it did not connect. i have also installed all drivers on my pc.i tried many times but my phone is not recognised at all pls help...i have one doubt should the phone be off/on while connecting to pc...

Are you sure the drivers are installed correctly? Did you update to KitKat using the flash tool? (if so then the drivers are correctly installed). If not, and you updated over KitKat, chances are that you have not installed the drivers correctly which is the hard part. i downloaded the update file from this link " http://studioscue.com/lenovo-p780-8g...n-and-rooting/ " and it was a rar file when extracted i got a zip file and i copied that file to phone and switched off the phone and went to recovery mode by pressing powerkey,vol up and vol down. the file automatically installed.i actually downloaded drivers from lenovo website for p780 and installed it in my pc, i even connected my phone and checked for driver update,the message displayed drivers up to date.
I downloaded the driver file and installed. now my phone is getting detected but i get this error in the flash tool.

I have had this problem before, on another phone Bird V1277 see attached screenshot you need a modified scatter file or try and download file again could be corrupted?
I tried with three different scatter files but its not working i get this error in sp flash tool

Vroot doesn't give lasting root. After a day or two the root fails. Kingroot wont work and root genius isn't so genius with this ROM. Has anyone gotten lasting root on the newest KK ROM? I have rooted three times. Right now I'm using SuperSU but it is not full root. TB won't work and Mobile Uncle Tools doesn't work fully also. Is there no newer recovery that will work better? I've tried the newest TWRP and the older CWM both won't give full root. I wouldn't ask but I've been looking myself for a long while already. I've even contacted the guy who writes the 4EXT recovery. Maybe he will make us a recovery. I like 4EXT.

Hey there all fellow XDA members, i have encountered a problem with my p780 8gb, i bought it from Malaysia in the beginning of the year,
this morning i woke up wondering why the alarm didnt go off and saw my phone stuck at the boot screen.
I didnt do anything but update the phone a week ago via the lenovo updater to kit kat, i rooted it in Jelly Bean but didnt do it yet when i updated to Kit Kat, ive tried resetting, clearing cache & it doesnt work, im not too sure what to do but i was thinking of going back to Jelly Bean, if anybody has links to a good rom that will work for me that will be really awesome.

Hi there. Flash the ROM for 8 GB. Do not flash that for 4 GB. Usit first. I have 4 GB ROM. Look in Development section.

there is no way to hard brick this kind of phone.
just try what i show you.

Step by step guide to Flash stock rom:
1.If your phone is not already soft bricked, back up whatever you want. External SD card is fine. If your phone is soft-brick then say goodbye to your data and skip this step.
2. Uncompress all the files you downloaded from this thread into a directory where you can remember. Including the ROMs.
3.Shutdown your phone if its not in a bootloop. If it is skip this step.
4.Open "Device Manager" on your Windows PC.
5.Plug in your phone through the micro USB cable. A device will show up for a few seconds in "Device Manager". After that, it will disappear again!
6.Recognize the device tree where it appeared, and wait for it as you unplug and plug in your phone again (if bootloop, its automatic!)
7.Catch it with a right click as it appears! Then choose "Update Drivers" and pick the directory where you uncompressed the drivers you downloaded above. Its ok if after catching it the device disconnects. You only need to install the drivers now.

Hey there Stympy, could you possibly tell me, are there different modem drivers for the phone in the file i downloaded ? Cause my 1st sim that works on 3g at 900 mhz doesnt want to work no more. Was thinking of just flashing with the original s124 that you posted a while back http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/general/lenovo-p780-8-gb-stock-rom-s124-140403-t2742170 . Was working more than perfect for me. Regards

Did you tried all my posted modems in How about some modems post?
Be carrefoul use those modems from folder: Modems for S221 LATEST UPDATE.
Be carrefoul all modems who worked in S123, S124 ar no more working in S214,S221,S222.
You are going to flash them for nothing.

Thanx for the reply, i havent seen your post stympy, do you mean if i flash the modems in the folders i downloaded it wont work ?
Is it easy to flash to stock rom ?

This modems are to be flashed from TWRP or CWM.
You cannot flash from stock recovery.
Iff you want to change your stock recovery to custom here are the stock images.

Thanx bud, unfortunately i dont have TWRP or CWM installed or know how to install it.
I see you said if i want to change from stock to custom but you gave me stock images ? Confused
I take it S124 is the ROM before the kit kat update, think i would prefer a stock phone for now, do i just download the stock rom with SP Flash tool, has anything else changed ?

Hi, the rom was replaced successfully on C200, thank you to all the members for this great tutorial/hack and your efforts.
The BLE remote also works but there is huge drop in performance, like YouTube takes forever to load video, I could only see the first frame of the video and then crash, all other general browsing in the OS is also slow. I wonder what might be causing it ???
it works perfectly fine for d200 v2 and now i can use adb as well as sideload any app if i want

I followed till point no.12, on boot it started with Mi Rom, (I have C200 version) ?? Should it not happen?? I downloaded the files in your post

just flash system.img of c200 again using same method till step 10
AND replace aidan sytem.img to system.img of c200 box

Can we go back to the original rom when needed? Thye might not give the security deposit back on cancelling the connection with a sodeloaded stb.
Getting libusb0.dll error have installed worldcup driver using AMLogic driver installer.exe. Downloaded libusb0.dll from net and copied to amlogic folder but it dosen`t work. Using win 10 ver 21h1 64bit. Please provide guide with images it will be helpful.

I have downloaded the file and put it under system32 folder but still it is giving error kindly help
6)Open AMLBootloaderConsole.exe you will see a screen waiting for device and dll error continue with next step.
7)press and hold the reset button of the box using a pin and simultaneously insert the power plug.
u will hear sound from pc after about 10 sec then remove power from stb and repeat step 5,6,7,8,9... now dll error is gone but now ( update partition system system-aidan.img ) command downloading is suck in middle of process will update when is find a solution for this problem.
Hope someone will make video with complete guide.

When it gets stuck,you need to select the cmd window and press enter. If it still gets stuck or if it fails then you need to remove and reconnect the usb and try flashing again. That is the only way. Everyone faces these errors, the solution is to just try again.

Apps can only install before running system.img command, my usb is not detecting after 12th step we have to install apps in mi os and in that os usb is not able to detect kindly help if anyone know how to solve
