Hi,
I have an MTK657x phone called y9190 that I bricked.
To unbrick it, I need the phone rom.
The problem is I can't find it anywhere
It's a mini s4 clone, it has 512Mb RAM but very small internal space
the only ROM I found is for f9192 that has 4G of inernal space and it doesn't work.
Can anyone please help? I need a ROM I can use in SP flash tool.

I also I have this device and am looking for a rom that works well and if it could be the stock rom in case I need support it.

Thank you very much for the ROM.
The problem is I expected to install a file from the rar to install with recovery and the rar have many folders and files and do not know how to install it.
If someone could help ...

I found scatter file in update rar.
When I connect the phone to the PC starts to connect and disconnect and I can not do anything.
Anyone know how to make unbrick it? (or where you have the TestPoint this device?)

remove the battery , see if it helps.
if it disconnect wait it to reconnect
just play with it.
I managed to get the smartphone to stay connected to the pc by holding the power button, vol+ and vol-.
The problem now is that the link above is an update and I need the stock rom to get repair my phone.

its quite easy just unplug the battery sd card and sims from the phone and then connect the usb cable, unrar the file that i uploaded and install the drivers open the sp flash tools and select the scatter file from the rom folder press f9 and sit back and enjoy your phone. :laugh: :highfive:

Hi,
If you used "Nokia Care Suite" or "Zune" then you NO NEED TO WORRY as it most likely can be recover.
But if you use partition related apps such as "dd" then it might able to recover.
Need more details & which app did you use to upgrade.

Oh, ok..
It's good that you still can see all ur partitions.
What was the cause that stop/disconnect while updating ?
Have you backup any of ur partitions ?
If so, try restore your backup.
If not try flash with another custom fw.

Hi When download finish it got some errors and once I extract the zip file and found that many files are missing. Anyone got issue like me?
There is a zip file with filename "pradai_row-ota-P780_ROW_8G_S222_140817.zip_WITH_EBR.zip" inside the target_bin folder, can I delete that away ?
It should not have any impact on flashing right ?

File size is too big ...1.6 GB !!?? Anyway I decided to download and try. Yes, I also have a problem with the downloaded file. I tried downloading twice. On both the occasions, when I tried to unzip the folder, it is throwing error message as follows for all files :
Unknown method in S222_8GB\P780_ROW_S222_140817\apdb\APDB_MT6589_S01_KK1.MP5_...

Successfully installed and also got OTA update done for S223. Genie failed to root. VRoot worked. Lower versions of Titanium back up is unable to locate apk file. Higher versions of Titanium back up is stuck on 'checking for root elevation''. Theme center not showing online content but only the couple of local themes. Switching from Dalvik to ART works.

okay, i figured out the problem why it doesnt flash. i cant install the driver even if i manage to catch it in device manager. Win8 wont allow me to install the driver after the device disconnect. pls advise.

The driver should be installed in this way:
1. plug in the phone
2. the driver should appear like an autorun(one exe file)
3. install driver, double click etc etc next next
4. in device manager it is normal to appear like 1 or 2 seconds max, it is not an error.
5. after you install the driver turn off your phone
6. plug in the cable in the computer and in the phone
7. the driver should install automaticaly.
Tell me if something goes wrong.

Hey there all fellow XDA members, i have encountered a problem with my p780 8gb, i bought it from Malaysia in the beginning of the year,
this morning i woke up wondering why the alarm didnt go off and saw my phone stuck at the boot screen.
I didnt do anything but update the phone a week ago via the lenovo updater to kit kat, i rooted it in Jelly Bean but didnt do it yet when i updated to Kit Kat, ive tried resetting, clearing cache & it doesnt work, im not too sure what to do but i was thinking of going back to Jelly Bean, if anybody has links to a good rom that will work for me that will be really awesome.

Hi there. Flash the ROM for 8 GB. Do not flash that for 4 GB. Usit first. I have 4 GB ROM. Look in Development section.

there is no way to hard brick this kind of phone.

Step by step guide to Flash stock rom:
1.If your phone is not already soft bricked, back up whatever you want. External SD card is fine. If your phone is soft-brick then say goodbye to your data and skip this step.
2. Uncompress all the files you downloaded from this thread into a directory where you can remember. Including the ROMs.
3.Shutdown your phone if its not in a bootloop. If it is skip this step.
4.Open "Device Manager" on your Windows PC.
5.Plug in your phone through the micro USB cable. A device will show up for a few seconds in "Device Manager". After that, it will disappear again!
6.Recognize the device tree where it appeared, and wait for it as you unplug and plug in your phone again (if bootloop, its automatic!)
7.Catch it with a right click as it appears! Then choose "Update Drivers" and pick the directory where you uncompressed the drivers you downloaded above. Its ok if after catching it the device disconnects. You only need to install the drivers now.
8.Assuming the drivers are correctly installed, run the Smart Phone Flash Tool.
9.Click on scatter-loading and choose the scatter file "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" of the ROM you want to flash.
10.Make sure the checkbox "DL DA All With Check Sum" is CHECKED
11.Click on "Firmware->Upgrade" button.
12.Plug in your powered down phone via the USB cable again. See it flash.

Sorry about the excess of messages stympy, ive downloaded the files but when i enter flash tools it says i must download ? It has also said PMT changed for the rom ?

Hey there Stympy, could you possibly tell me, are there different modem drivers for the phone in the file i downloaded ? Cause my 1st sim that works on 3g at 900 mhz doesnt want to work no more. Was thinking of just flashing with the original s124 that you posted a while back http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/general/lenovo-p780-8-gb-stock-rom-s124-140403-t2742170 . Was working more than perfect for me. Regards

Did you tried all my posted modems in How about some modems post?
Be carrefoul use those modems from folder: Modems for S221 LATEST UPDATE.
Be carrefoul all modems who worked in S123, S124 ar no more working in S214,S221,S222.
You are going to flash them for nothing.

This modems are to be flashed from TWRP or CWM.
You cannot flash from stock recovery.
Iff you want to change your stock recovery to custom here are the stock images.

Thanx bud, unfortunately i dont have TWRP or CWM installed or know how to install it.
I see you said if i want to change from stock to custom but you gave me stock images ? Confused
I take it S124 is the ROM before the kit kat update, think i would prefer a stock phone for now, do i just download the stock rom with SP Flash tool, has anything else changed ?

I have P780 with 4.2.2. When I tried to flash a new ROM, it abruptly stopped and now the phone starts, but crashes all the apps. Not even the System Settings are accessible. Both sim cards not recognised, play store doesn't work, none of the apps work, i can see the list of apps, but of no use.
Can someone pls help me?
I also tried to flash the files again, but no response. The SD card is recognised. So I can copy files into the phone. But no other response from phone.

Hi. You must reflash again your phone. Because in this moment your preloader is messed up you must reinstall drivers.
After drivers reinstall you should be abble to flash again.
Tell me if you have problems !

The phone stopped responding. When I switch on, it just shows Lenovo logo and sticks there. No further response. It doesn't go to recovery mode (power button+ volume up)!
I think I am in a deep s**t now.
It seems the phone is shut down from inside!

Hi. Look what you have to do:
Go to my post: Rooting tutorial for KitKat located in Q&A section and download SP Flash Tool v5.

Download your ROM and flash it.
Go again to post Rooting tutorial for KitKat and root your phone.
This tools are tested and working.

I downloaded the files as suggested in your post.
However, I could not flash anything into my phone. So I tried to use MTKDroid tool to open the phone in TWRP recovery mode and installed the TWRP_v2.7.1.1_P780_ROW_KK_Corrected.zip in recovery mode. After this, I rebooted into recovery again, and tried to install the P780_ROW_S226_8GB_KIT_KAT.zip thro recovery. But that ended in failure.
When I try to flash the ROW using SP FLash tools, this is the log I am getting. I do not see any action in the tool except all the options grey out! I had installed the USB drivers and my phone is being detected in the MTKDroid tool, but not in the SPFlash tool.
Now the phone is starting, but none of the modules work, like sim card, contacts, apps, store, etc.
Any suggestions?

Dear Stympy,
After trying many ROM and updates, I could finally flash official updateota from Lenovo, which seems working.
My phone is up and running now with the KitKat 4.4.2 P780_ROW_S220_140722.
However, the internal storage seems to be a problem in this version. It says the internal memory is full and I am not able to access the internal memory. Is there any way out? Also if I flash the ROM given by you, will it work?

Flash S226 and OTA update till S228 and see what is going on ! Be careful to flash the firmware you need !
I do not know if your phone is 4GB or 8GB. Here is the firmware.

I accidentally used the ROM a rom of the S7 MT6580, to flash my note 7 (Clone) n930f MT6580 with sp flash tool.
Now my phone is stocked at the Android boot logo & sometimes it wont even start. How can I solve this issue or is there a correct ROM for my phone?
Another rom that is suitable is fine to if I can install that without having ADB/download modus on(not possible).
You will be hard pressed as cline devices use a hacked together version of Android and almost never post the files due to copyright lawsuits.
Also xda doesn't deal with knock offs.

Try to flash it with the stock rom suited for your device. If it does not solve the problem, try to post in a thread related to your device and its problems The thread should have many replies for a higher chance that your question to be noticed by other members.

Do you know where I could find the right Rom, I managed to find a "system . img" file. (dont know if it is a right phone, but that one does not have a scatter file in it so don't know how this would work since I don have a working OS to install or use twrp recovery on my phone.
I also discovered a ROM of liniage os that is suitable with my device, but then again I need to have twrp recovery on my device.
ADB and download modus is not possible on my phone unfortunately.

I found a here https://mtkfirmware.blogspot.com/2016/11/samsung-note-7-clone-firmware-mt6580.html you should check it out to see if its your rom. Download it then extract. Most of the time the .rar file contains the SCATTER FILE specifically for that rom. But if it doesn't, just google it.

How can I access download modus?
The download modus button is not working anymore. Same applies for adb(both where working before )
I can go to the recovery/fastboot/normal mode, but if I select one of the recovery/fastboot/normal not happens and the phone goes out
