Long story short, I was trying to install safestrap. Flashed the files, now the phone won't boot into ANY recovery, only goes into download mode. Upon first boot of a flash, it gets to the verizon screen then turns off and does nothing

No worries, if you can go to download mode, just odin restore back to nc5 or mk2.
- download odin software
- download nc5
- flash nc5
- boom!
some of the real garoos on here may have better ideas but if nothing else, you should be able to Odin the stock firmware back onto your phone and start over. Do you know which stock firmware release you were on before you started?

I updated my phone to me7 and I followed a root procedure. After I used goo manager to install twrp and clicked reboot recovery but when it rebooted it went into downloading mode and won't let me boot normally! It says on the top could not do normal boot. Please help!!!
Yeah mine is doing the same thing. Not really sure what's going on, heh.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
**EDIT**
Nevermind...now when I reboot it goes into the OS like normal. Thanks again, man.
You cant install a custom recovery on the me7 ota. Theres a ton of posts on this already. To get past that turn your phone off and use the button combo for booting into odin(vol down + power). Itll ask if you want to proceed or cancel, hit cancel and your phone will boot. To fix you will either need to flash a stock recovery or use odin and reflash me7.

This got me back into the phone but now I'll have to reflash the stock img via ODIN?
Anywhere I can find the stock recovery?

Any help would be appreciated. Just need the stock .img file to flash. I've tried flashing all versions of TWRP and it ends up bootlooping and getting stuck in Download Mode. I'd like to put the stock recovery back on for now until I find something that works.
Thanks!

If you're on MDK, use the link for MDK. Otherwise use one under the "Information" part of the post. (A Full-Wipe tar will remove all personal data from your phone.)
If you're not on MDK you will probably never be able to flash TWRP.
Safestrap is an option, but only allows TouzhWiz-based roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441441
Thanks. Any way of pulling just the stock recovery .img and flashing it thru Flashify, or do I have to download the entire stock rom and do the no-wipe thru Odin? Reason I ask is because the phone works fine, just the recovery is borked if I try to boot into it.

You're on the MK2 build/bootloader, can boot into the android, but can't boot into recovery? That seems unusual to me (would have expected you to be forced into download mode), but I'm not an expert on it.
I don't have an MK2 device, but I would imagine @Surge1223 probably has an MK2 recovery .img

Yeah it's odd. After trying to flash the recovery, it did get stuck forcing me into download mode. But by pulling the battery then manually booting into Download mode (Vol-Down, Home, Power) I'm able to get to the warning screen about Custom OS's and press Vol-Down to cancel. This boots into Android and fixes the issue. Reboots work fine, but if I try to boot into recovery it forces me into Download mode again. It's really odd. I might just take the plunge and do Surge1223's full wipe tomorrow. I've already gone thru and backed everything up to my PC.
Thanks for the help.
Everytime I flash a new Rom, my phone will not go past the galaxy note screen, I'm on bonsai 0.5 and it happens with every Rom I try no matter what recovery I use and with full wipes. Any help would be greatly appreciated...also when I flash those and get stuck it will let me reflash bonsai 0.5 and boot right up

I have actually tried that to no avail. Thanks tho. Still looking for what could cause this issue. It makes no sense. I've been flashing since the first Droid came out I've never experienced this.

Ok, from what I can tell, if you're on Bonsai v0.5, then you're still on MJ4. If you try to flash any Kit-Kat based ROM, it's not going to work. You need to go to the stock Kit-Kat bootloader and ROM before you can flash any KK-based custom ROM. I don't fully understand why that's the case, but it is.
I have previously written up instructions on how to do this, which I have copied-and-pasted below. The links should still work, although the files may have been updated to newer versions. They should still work.
Detailed instructions on upgrading from a MJ4 (Jellybean) to NAB (KitKat) Rom.
Downloaded all files required. I will provide a link to the files. For all ODIN file flashing, I had "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" checked.
Backed up all "important" files off of the internal memory to the MicroSD card. Copied the fre3 Rom file to the MicroSD Card.
Use ODIN 3.07 "PDA" to flash the MJ4 Stock TAR file (filename: N900PVPUBMJ4_N900PSPTBMJ4_N900PVPUBMJ4_HOME.tar.md5). Took 5-10 minutes.
Once phone reboots, allow a few minutes for things to get settled. Reboot into Download Mode.
Use ODIN 3.07 "PDA" to flash the NAB Stock TAR file (filename: N900PVPUCNAB_N900PSPTCNAB_N900PVPUCNAB_HOME.tar.md5). Took 5-10 minutes.
Once phone reboots, allow a few minutes for things to get settled. Reboot into Download Mode.
*Optional Step* Use ODIN 3.07 "Bootloader" to flash the NAB Engineered Bootloader TAR file (filename: nabfirmware.tar). Took 1 minute.
Once phone reboots, allow a few minutes for things to get settled. Reboot into Download Mode.
Use ODIN 3.07 "PDA" to flash the TWRP 2.7.0.0 TAR file (filename: openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-hltespr-4.4.img.tar). Took 1-2 minutes.
Once phone reboots, allow a few minutes for things to get settled. Reboot into Recovery Mode.
Made a TWRP Backup of the Stock NAB Rom, set backup location to the MicroSD Card. Took 5-10 minutes.
Did an "Advanced" Wipe on TWRP. Checked all options except MicroSD Card.
Once done, go back to "wipe" menu in TWRP. Choose "Format Data" and had to type in "yes" to wipe.
Rebooted to Recovery. Do not try to install SuperSu, since you have no ROM loaded yet.
Install the ROM in TWRP.
Rebooted to ROM and allowed a few minutes for everything to settle down.
Rebooted ROM to make sure everything is running fine.
All-in-all, took only about 45 minutes, but with writing this down, I'd say it took a total of 1 hour. Not too shabby.

I hope this helps!
Edit:
Note: As far as I'm aware, once you go to a Kit-Kat based ROM, you will not be able to go back down to a JB ROM. I think some people were trying to figure out a way to do this, but I haven't heard if they've solved it.
Ok, with all my wifi issues I tried a file called jfltevzw-wififix-FN2-NC2-w-modules.zip, as suggested through out the forum. I booted into recovery and installed the NC2 modem and then the fix file mentioned above. When I rebooted, I got hung at the unauthorized verizon software, take your phone back to verizon. I then tried to odin back to stock and start over. I'm on the MDK bootloader and (had) twrp installed. I got into odin and tried to install a stock no wipe rom. This one: VRUAMDK_NoWipe.tar.md5. In odin I tried installing this file, but instead of PDA, I did it in bootloader. Now, when I reboot my phone, I see the samsung splash screen, then the verizon splash screen and then it just sits there. I see animation on the verizon logo, but after 15min, I pulled the battery. Also, if I hold vol up and power on, I don't have TWRP, it just goes to the samsung splash, then verizon splash screen. I googled and searched but can find nothing on this situation. When I do start up my phone, I still shows custon unlocked screen before the samsung and verizon logos. How do I start over?
Just an update on my situation, after further attempts of fixing my phone, if I hold vol up and the power button, I can get into some sort of recovery. Its not my normal TWRP blue screen its just a small menu of items to choose from, in tiny blue writing. Hopefully this helps in someone suggesting something.
You're gonna need to flash the full wipe mdk tar to get your system to boot again. Then reroot via towelroot and install TWRP via Flashify. I would then suggest flashing the last NC5 modem.
Do not use those WiFi fix zips if you're on MDK, they're for Safestrap users only. What that zip did was upgrade your modem and nonhlos to nc2. Sometimes it will still boot but you'll have no audio and sometimes it soft bricks your phone.

If you have WiFi issues with a rom you flashed, PM me and I will help.

I was able to get into download mode after letting the phone sit for a while. I flashed with Odin and phone completed flash and rebooted. On the reboot the android popped up and the blue status bar went through and completed. Odin said 1 sucessful/0 failed. Now nothing happens. Does it need to be repartitioned? If so where can I get the file?

I am afraid that you will need a FULL Wipe and Repartition...
For Nc5:

That is what I used for my friend. He would get the sammy logo and a black screen. I had to pull the battery and back in to get into download mode... If that does not work.. I don't think anything can help. Someone more experience may be able to say if Jtag works, but I have never had the need for it...
