I just got the S5 a week ago & I've reached my Limit of 5Gs to tether so has anyone found a way to bypass the limit or have a working flashable hotspot mod ? If so can someone point in the right direction . please & thank you

You could simply flash a ROM. Most if not all of them have a tethering mod built in.
If you don't wanna do that then there's this as well.

[Q] How to make your Kyocera Rise into wifi hotspot?

I purchased Kyocera Rise during blackfriday sale (switching from LG Optimus V to Kyocera Rise). After playing on it for awhile, I wanted to use it as a wifi hotspot so I downloaded quicksetting app but wifi hotspot setting didn't work. My Rise is rooted and using stock ROM. I was be able to use my LG Optimus V (rooted and IHO rom) as a wifi hotspot this way but it isn't working for my Rise. Thank you in advance.
Wifi tether for root users on the market that's the one I use but you might have to play with the settings for it to work but it works on mine hope I helped

I to am switching from Optimus V
The mic on my Optimus V died, but I love the hotspot and that it is rooted.
Thanks, for this post! I have read that the phone doesn't come with google play or that it is a limited version of apps?? Is that true?
If I get this I will root it. How do you like the phone so far?

Hey, I did something dumb and deleted system apps off my phone.
Could someone use root explorer and copy the stock folder: system/apps
or send a system dump.
I'm not sure of all the damage I've done but if you could at least give me a download/link, for Contacts.apk, Dialer.apk, Mms.apk
I'm still beating myself up over this, if anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

That sucks i have never had that phone but no its not true, lol this phone has everything you need to have a full android device even ics. But I like it its strong so far lol trust me its been droped alot already and all we have is root no cwm recovery but does have a stock one, and no bootloader but other then the side keyboard and you cant beat $80 bucks right I like it haven't had a lot of FC. p.s sense I forgot to say before lol that the phone does every now and then drain battery if you use it a lot and for some reason my wifi will turn on by its self sense I actual got minutes for it
So if you want to know more about this phone just ask me or look it up. p.s.s if you don't know so if you choose a different phone almost any phone can rooted running ics/jb there's a thread on here

You can get the system images here:
androidforumsDOTcom/rise-all-things-root/660612-porting-clockworkmod-kyocera-rise-post5370272.html#post5370272
Replace the DOT with a period... Sorry, can't post links yet....
trust me..I GOT THIS
Step 1 root your phone
Step 2 download blackmart from google
Step 3 download lucky patcher from blackmart or the internet(app icon is a yellow happy face)
Step 4 download svtp wifi hotspot from blackmart(get the paid version..all apps are free from blackmart)
Step 5 install it and open lucky patcher and find the svtp app.
Step 6 hold over it and tap remove liscence verification(just use auto modes)
Step 7 when it finishes just use the svtp app and it should work..
It worked for me and I have kyocera rise through virgin mobile
If you don't know how to root than google it! You don't even need a computer for this model
Any questions email me at [email protected]

[Q] enabling tethering and portable hotspot i717

Hi, i was trying to enable wifi portable hotspot on my rooted and unlocked i717, i was reading in the forums and some people were able to do it just uninstalling or freezing "tetheringmanager" with titanium backup, but i can't find that service listed in my device, instead of that i have "tethering provisions" but if i uninstall or freeze and then try to enable portable hotspot my screen goes black and there is an error saying "settings has crashed...".
is there any way to enable native tethering and portable wifi hot spot in the at&t galaxy note i717????
any help would be sooooo appreciated.
thank you so much for your time

nothing yet, i hope someone here can give me a light...i don't like to use 3rd party apps
I'm pretty sure you can't do it unless you flash a rom with free tethering enabled or use a 3rd party app

hey, i just found the solution!!!!!!!!!!
simply download "tethering widget" from the android market and turn on/off the hotspot option from there, you don't need to freeze or uninstall anything....that's all so easy and working great, my laptop is now on the web through my note
i hope this works for you too, please let me know

This should have its own post. That's awesome! No root required. As easy as downloading a 476kb apk off the play store. Thanks for that!
you are welcome!!!!!

wheres my native hotspot?

My native hotspot is missing since i buyed this phone ...i flashed
too many roms kernels etc with no success ....maybe some system files missing ??....look at my pictures please
Few carriers have blocked using hotspots and so they would have disabled it. You can install apps like Foxfi and use..

I tried everything and no luck...any other suggestion?
Not stock rooted, just stock. The mj4 .tar through ODIN. You can use kingofroot to get root back and you should have hotspot like everyone else.
