[Q] No internal storage - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've searched the forum extensively but I'm still having trouble.
I have a generic em63 android tablet. And yesterday when I turned it on after its battery died I was presented with the initial start up. I found I couldn't install any apps and when I checked the internal storage I was presented with 0.00MB.
A lot of the posts I've found concerned issues caused by flashing the ROM which I haven't or by installing an app to access system files but as I can't install any apps I can't try that technique.
If anyone knows what steps I should take or if there's a thread I haven't found yet that would help anything would be appreciated.

[Q] No app can access my phones memory, wants an SDcard [Resurrection Remix ics v1.4]

Hi!
Couldn't find a solution for this. I first noticed it in the stock camera app and it won't store anything on my phone. I can't access anything when I connect the phone to USB (tried with usb debugging and without because that solved it one time in another rom). I would really just flash another rom, but because I can't save anything on the phone ergo I can't do a backup of my apps and settings and that would really be... time consuming.
I can mount USB storage from the recovery so that is not an issue. I "googled" last hour for the solution but couldn't find so apologies if it was answered somewhere else because I couldn't find it. Wanted to post in the development forum but don't have 10 posts.
Thanks in advance and keep up the awesome work

« ¿Where are the files of my External SD?
This time the manage the external sd it's different way, now the external SD it's called /emmc, there are your files. You can access to this folder with any file explorer (even the built-in one). Just open the file manager, select the "mnt" button, the one between the Home icon and SD icon. Inside you'll find emmc.

Thanks guys. Didn't manage it, but uninstalling and reinstalling mybackup pro after it asked for root perm. did the trick so with the apps, data and all other stuff backed up I just put the new 1.7 up and it works like a charm!
But, would be helpful (if not for me then for someone else) if I knew the reason why it got messed up in the first place
Cheers

[Q] what is android.process.acore?

hey, I did a search in NT for android.process.score and got no results, what is it and how do I fix it?
I am running NT 8gb 1.4.3 with cm10 build 08.3 and installed using cwm 6.0.1.5 I can't think of any other system mods I'm running. in some of the other device forums I read (here on xda) I was reading it had to do with facebook, but I have never even been on fb with this device. thanks for any help and sorry if I am being a noob.
What was the last thing you did before you got that message?
Can you do something after it appeared?
More info means better chance of possible solutions!
If you Googled I guess you read this one and tried what's said there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942731 and it didn't work?
it was from a fresh install, however I think I figured it out. I disabled contacts and then cleared data in the app manager and so far it does t seem to becoming back.if it does I will update this thread.
when I posted I was only looking for nt stuff however I stumbled across this fix on another site and tried it and it seems to work. sorry about any wasted time and/or space.

[Q] HTC ONE X+ apps unable to access storage after installing custom ROM

Hi everyone,
I need some help with some errors that are occuring after installing the [International] 2013/03/05 AOKP 4.2.2 - 2.0b ROM.
I'm using the international version of the HTC ONE X+.
First off, I have to mention that I am quite noob at these things besides rooting and installing oxygenrom once on the HTC DESIRE, 2 years ago.
Let me explain the problems:
1) when connected to my pc via USB, I can access the phone's storage listed as sdcard, but there is totally nothing inside, and I am unable to copy anything to the sdcard.
2) Also when I try to download anything using the stock browser from this rom, the browser crashes, Google play also crashes immediately when I try to open it. File Manager (safe access mode) throws up the error message "the file or folder was not found" and is empty.
3) Camera and gallery indicates that there is no storage available.
After checking "storage" from settings, it clearly indicates 53.23gb available, 72.11mb (apps), 12.13mb cached data.
I've checked the recovery and discovered that my original data is stored in the directory /0/0/0/0/0, I suspect this is because I didn't realise I had to install the 4.2 kernel separately before I flashed the custom ROM that I tried to install the ROM many times before I realised my mistake and installed it correctly.
I suspect that somehow the ROM is malfunctioning after my mistakes while installing it, causing the many /0 directories and thus while there is available storage space, the apps are unable to read/write data for some reason.
I would install an old ROM version to try to fix this but as I have mentioned above, I cannot transfer any files via USB either.
I'm hoping that one of you can provide some insight into what has gone wrong and perhaps give me some advice on how to re-install your ROM without getting these errors.
If there is any further information I can provide to you please let me know.
Thank you for any help rendered
Same Problem
I've the same problem did you manage to fix it??
If you don't have important data stored on your phone yet, the easiest way is probably format your /data partition in TWRP recovery, wipe/factory reset your phone and the install the rom via "adb sideload" command.
In case you don't know what that is or how to use it, there are two tutorials in the HTC One X+ General forum on unlocking/rooting/flashing on this phone, everything you need to know is written down there.

[Q] P780 - General Issues & Solutions Under one heading

Hi all
I have come across numerous problems with P780 and many issues that are addressed but scattered everywhere on the net. I believe it is high time to condense everything down here. These are issues that I have come across and I look forward if someone within the elite team on this forum can address them individually.
1st issue (Internal v/s external memory swapping)
Internal Memory keeps filling up although External Storage is chosen from the menu for future download and installation. Actually, all apps are de facto installed onto the internal memory. I had to download a 3rd party software to move them each and everytime an app is downloaded to the external memory card. Still after moving, the internal memory keeps filling up.
I have tried this solution but unfortunately it doesn't work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2346389
2nd issue: (RAM)
Like you know, the RAM keeps over charging itself and each and everytime you have to clean it up. Came across this solution to increase RAM and I would like to know if this is genuine or not: https://www.androidpit.com/increase-phone-ram
3rd issue: Lenovo Launcher keeps crashing
Any solution to that? I used LiFE ROM. Want to know if there is a solid ROM out there that can overcome such issue? The numerous applications to be installed are found sparingly in several threads; hence if someone can group them altogether with relevant description of each of them that would be nice. Stumpy did an incredible thread here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2ORIgaV4iacYmZHQmV0QXFpR0E&usp=sharing#list
But unfortunately, without a description of each of the file, it is difficult to know which is which.
4th issue: Installing new ROMs through Recovery mode
For instance I cannot install MIUI through this mode. I can only use flash tool to install a ROM. I donwloaded MIUI through their website but can't find the scatter file for relevant installation.
5th issue: Sound quality
People gets difficulty to hear us properly. Is that a hardware defect or software?

Moving pre-installed apps to SD-card (ROOTED)

Hi, i'm running a Moto E with android version 5.1, and since updating to this version of android I have had constantly so little space on the internal memory that I can't even update the pre-installed apps even though I have as good as as no other apps installed on the phone as well as zero images, videos, music or any other media files.
Therefore I've spent a few days trying to figure out how I could move the pre-installed apps to my SD-card.
So, I've rooted the phone, installed the program called Link2SD and I tried using that program to move the apps. Yet it gave me a warning:
"Failure
pkg: /data/app/com.google.android.apps.maps-1/base.apk Failure
[INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_INSTALL_LOCATION]"
Then I found that it seems I also need to create a so-called "second partition" on my SD-card, but I've not yet managed to find a tutorial on the internet that worked for me.
Since then I've tried 6 or 7 other similar programs with no luck, in the process reading somewhere that it actually couldn't even be done on android versions 4.0 or later. Is this true? Could someone be a kind gentleman (or -woman) and guide me through this? That would make me very happy indeed.
Thanks in advance
Simon

It's better to install custom rom of android 6.0 + and flash gapps pico or nano and in android 6.0 + you can format your external SD card as internal so, it'll help to use all on external storage and gapps pico also takes minimum space so you definitely saved you internal storage to be full
if you don't know how to do that stuff then you can ask...!
