Hi there,
Completely editing my question as I know the previous issue, googleservicesframework.apk is missing when I factory reset the phone, with that being said, is there a way to install the apk file inside the system folders so that when I factory reset the phone it will install automatically and not have to be done off my sdcard that keeps a backup of the file.
Since I have no idea how to unlock the bootloader on this Huawei Y330, if I use BusyBox and Nandroid Online Backup to make a copy of the stock rom, can I then install the file this way or can I install it with an application to browse to the location it is supposed to go, add it there and somehow keep it there (the backup file which is used for factory reset) for when I factory reset it.
Thanks!
Afternoon,
Initial issue has been sorted out and another issue has come up now I know what the issue is, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm on my Nexus 7 Tablet and unfortunately I have to do a factory reset yet again due to the issues presented in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32943570#post32943570
My Question is if I'm doing a factory reset is it safe to "copy/paste" the /data folder from now to after the reset to preserve my apps and settings? I hate having to download them all again and set everything up from scratch but I want to make sure it's safe. Even if I have to go through it and delete some of the files to make it safe it's better than spending 4 hours setting things up every time it craps out.
I would make a backup.ab with adb backup for the system or a titanium backup for each app but unfortunately I can't get into the apps since it won't boot up. Clockworkmod has an adb interface so that's how I plan to pull and push the /data folder but unfortunately it doesn't have an interface for adb backup.
As my other thread outlines I am on stock everything except for SuperUser su and Clockworkmod recovery.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you very much for any assistance.
Ok, so I have a Sprint Evo 3D with S-Off and the SmoothCriminal rom and 4ext touch recovery (stuck on RC3 because there is no way to install a recovery image anymore without having the device working in the first place).
Last night for no reason the UI started endlessly rebooting, so I decided to just reboot...... and my phone kept boot-looping from then on.
Not wanting to lose all of my data I perform an advanced nandroid backup of all of the partitions separately so I could take a closer look and see what might cause it to boot properly again.
Turns out for some reason the /data/system/sync folder was the problem, removing this causes the phone too boot again after wiping and restoring the data partition with that folder removed from the nandroid backup.
Problem is, I seem to have lost permissions or whatever the term would be for ANY app that didn't come with the rom or had been updated since, I have to delete my account, then re-add it, then uninstall and reinstall EVERY app.
First of all, isn't the sync folder just a temporary cache for data to sync to your accounts? Why would that cause a bootloop and it's removal fix it? And second, why would removing it make me lose all of the equivalent of my "licenses" for every app? Is there any easy way to fix this?
Sorry I don't have an answer to your main question, but do you not have your apps backed up with titanium (or another) that you can easily restore from?
I didn't have a backup from before it started bootlooping, no. Plus its not like I can run Titanium if all I can access are the bootloader and recovery, not the main OS.
And also, I have another problem now. All the system apps I cannot update because of the license conflict thing, and unlike the other apps I cannot just uninstall and reinstall them to fix it, since they are system apps. Just updating doesn't work either.
Hey People,
Trying to remove bloatware (ATT Address Book) I mistakingly uninstalled a contacts system app. I made a TI backup so I just pulled down the prop files and gz files for that apk and the apk itself, but no luck. Did a factory reset and still the same thing. I was wondering if anyone has a TWRP backup they'd like to share with me or is it someone I could wife system in TWRP and do a factory reset from the bootloader ?
did you ever get sorted out? I am in the same boat now. Can anyone help?
Since last November, Whatsapp on my (rooted) Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo has been giving me problems: backups no longer work, it is impossible to download and upload multimedia. Also, I am experiencing random problems with other apps with file writing. So I would like to reformat the phone as much as possible and install a custom ROM (CyanogenMod being the first candidate).
But first I have to make sure that I can recover my Whatsapp chats, some of which are quite important for me, which is not trivial with backup not working. A bit of googling pointed me to a few people having similar problems; some of them managed to solve their problems fiddling with permissions and ownership on the backup directory, /storage/emulated/0/Whatsapp/Databases; I tried to do the same, but without success - let me just say that this attempt would be the subject for another thread. So I decided to try and simply backup the data directory, /data/data/com.whatsapp, having read that it was possible.
So I backed up the data directory to SD card using good old tar, then I renamed the original and restored the backup; having used tar, both permissions and ownerships were correctly restored (except for the symlink lib -> /data/app-lib/com.whatsapp-3 which was now owned by root rather than by user "install", but having permissions 777 I would be surprised if this was an issue). I also checked that the contents were exactly the same as those of the original directory using diff, and I deleted the app cache before trying to restart Whatsapp: in spite of this, it crashed before starting. I removed the restored directory, renamed the original one to its correct name, and whatsapp started correctly.
I am really confused: how is it possible that an exact copy of a working directory prevents an app from working? The only difference I am aware of in such a copy is in the inode numbers, but nobody would hardcode them in an application... I hope
Any idea, any suggestion is welcome. Did anybody every manage to backup ad restore whatsapp chats from its data directory?
Well, since your phone is rooted, which makes recovery very easy. You just need to find a good app. From my experience, you could apply to Jihosoft Android Phone Recovery. Good luck.
I'm new to this forum so i don't know wether i'm posting this in the right sub but i need help with restoring my phone's data. I stupidly used wondershare's "dr fone" to backup all my data on the computer which created a 15.9 gb .bak file. Problem is i didn't know that in order to restore this to your phone you had to have a subscription, before i wiped my phone. Now i am left with the aforementioned .bak file and i would like to know if there are any free pc applications that can restore all my data to the phone using this file. Thanks in advance.
Have you had a look at this thread?

Hi, thanks for replying. I just took a look. I tried a few other apps from google play since appbak was no longer on there, unfortunately none of them were able to use the file (I copied the .bak file from my pc to my phone's internal storage). I then found an old version of appbak through chrome and installed it but it also couldn't use the .bak file to restore my data. Eventually I tried restoring it through my phone's settings like a couple of people recommended but the only backup setting I could find was "Backup by Google One" (because my phone runs on Android One, which is focused on Google Services) and I could not use a local file to start restoring. At this point I might just try to restore my data manually but any further help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
