[Q] No connection to Play Store after ROM flash - HTC Desire 601

Hi all,
after ROOT my HTC Desire 601 and flash "insertcoin_6thSense_zara_cl-3.0.6.zip" (through twrp_recovery.img) I am not able to access Google services such as "Play Store", "Hangouts". Gmail app works fine though. I just realized after inserting SIM card, that I am not able to give a call as well :/
I have read and did try many advises (changing hosts, clearing cache&data, factory reset,...) but non of them worked.
Any ideas on this pleeeeease? Thanks in advance.

Wipe and reflash?

Yep, a couple of times. Wiped and Advanced Wipe and reflashed with wipe option. Tried a different Google account.
I have also tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53873169&nocache=1&z=7855586749501526
No change.
Thanks

FYI: Fixed but with different ROM (STOCK_ODEX_ROOT_HTC_ZARA_UL_601_2.14.1401.86_v.1.0.1.zip)
Steps I took with downloaded files & fixed the issue:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flashed ROM: STOCK_ODEX_ROOT_HTC_ZARA_UL_601_2.14.1401.86_v.1.0.1.zip
I guess there was a mismatch between previous firmware.zip and ROM.
Could you please point me to a location with firmware, recovery and ROM files for "insertcoin_6thSense_zara_cl-3.0.6.zip". I really like that ROM and would like to test it but with all necessary and working files (e.g. firmware.zip, recovery and ROM itself).
Thanks in advance.

Evo 3D Stuck on White HTC screen [Solved]

I consider myself to be fairly resourceful, but i cannot figure out why my Evo 3D will not boot any rom. I recently wiped the phone and attempted to load the stock ICS rom. Now no matter what i do when i turn the phone on, it loads the white HTC screen with green text. and just sits there. The phone is HTC unlocked and is S-ON, its HBoot 1.5, with eMMC-boot.
I have tried loading the boot.img through fastboot, but nothing seems to work.

It is a boot.img issue.
Wipe & re-flash. Then flash boot.img through fastboot.
Do not use USB 3.0 ports or USB Hubs or Extension cables while flashing through fastboot. A USB 2.0 port at the back of the PC is recommended.

1. You need to flash the boot.img from the same ROM that you're flashing through recovery.
2. ICS rom zip? If this is the rom.zip from an RUU, then it needs to be flashed through fastboot.

I downloaded the ICS rom from the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420206
I pulled the boot.img using 7zip and installed it using fastboot flash boot boot.img
It is now in a bootcycle, getting past the white htc screen but when the sprint animation starts it reboots.

I recommend getting s-off. Since you can't boot, you may need to relock the bootloader and run an ruu first. Get it to boot and then unlock. Then follow the steps of the wire trick.

Is the ruu you downloaded compatible with this cid? I don't remember how to unpack the ruu to see the compatibility file, but I'm almost sure that you can find on our device forums. Or you can download a different ruu to try.

Rooted HTC one x+ using wrong rootboot version and lost signal and wifi

Hi,
I just rooted my HTC One x+ using RootBoot for Software number 1.14.401.16 and i had completely forgotten that I upgraded to 1.17 today
I lost my signal, wifi isnt working and it was stuck on the HTC logo for a while but its unbricked now. I still have no signal or wifi though.
Does anyone know if there is a new rootboot version?
Cheers

So, you have a recovery installed, either CWM or TWRP? Why do you want to keep the stock ROM?
Use the All in One tool from Hasoon or follow the guide for the original One X that explains how to set up the fastboot folder on your C: drive, then flash one of the above mentioned recoveries for the X+ via fastboot, then flash the boot.img of a ROM you'd like to try, also via fastboot and then flash a custom ROM from recovery. But first make sure that you download a custom ROM.zip and transfer it to your phone as unlocking will have wiped your SD card.
Or you can just root your stock ROM, for that you need the Super User tools, so after unlocking, flash one of the recoveries for the X+ via fastboot, power up phone, copy Super User tools to SD card and flash them in recovery!
Make sure that you understand what you are doing. Reading first is mandatory!

I couldnt find the CWM for HTC one x+, just for htc one x. should i use that one?
Can you please tell me where I can find it? and whats a good custom ROM that i can use? also is it possible to just go back to the stock ROM for now?
Cheers

You need to flash the boot.img inside the Rom.zip that you download. Put the whole .zip on your SD card, boot into bootloader, select fastboot, hook up the phone, point to the folder your fastboot files are located and you dropped the boot.img, open a cmd window, and type
cd c:\fastboot and enter, then
fastboot erase cache and enter
fastboot flash boot boot.img and enter
fastboot erase cache and enter
Unplug cable, select hboot/boot recovery, select, then inside recovery install zip from SD card, don't forget to select the wipe option in the aroma installer...
The whole process takes like 20 mins, including download of the ROM, copying the boot.img into the fastboot folder (make sure there is only one boot.img in there...the one you want/need), flashing the boot.img, flashing ROM in recovery and booting up (which takes like a few minutes)
Hope this helps

Just to make sure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34173694 is the CWM recovery for the X+ or use the TWRP recovery found in the Android Original Dev section...and please, use the search button, read, understand and ask if you don't, and then a hit on the thanks button is appreciated

Which ROM did you flash ? I have the same problem and have no luck with decoding HTC stock ROMs.
Please try to flash boot.img from ARHD 6.2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987885
I am in a same problem ase I flash my ARHD 6.2 Rom and after the Oxp_elitekernel_130119, all work but my data connection is not stopped when screen is in sleep mode...
Is Oxp_elitekernel_130119 works fine with ARHD 6.2 ROM ?

[Q] WiFi Won't Turn On After Root

New AT&T HTC One 64M S-ON
Did the following (after trying the all-in-one toolkit and not being able to boot into recovery)
> fastboot flash boot boot.img
> fastboot reboot-bootloader
> fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
> fastboot erase cache
This got the recovery working. I installed supersu.zip from recovery. Verified root using root checker.
Tried to download and install a couple programs. Installing MyBackupPro and gave me an error relating to being unable to install.
Rebooted a couple of times and reset the phone to factory using the OS settings. At that point, wifi would not turn on. Says "turning on", and eventually says "error".
Any suggestions? I'm concerned that the boot.img was incorrect--for the international model? It was the one "made by Paul O'Brien"?
I am able to install and run both TWRP and CWM.
I've subsequently redone as follows:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
Everything works except wifi. Could it be just a hardware failure? I don't believe the failure was triggered immediately after any of my changes, but only after the "factory reset".
I have also tried disabling su from its settings menu.
Application installation error
This must be related? When I try to install My Backup Pro (I can download over 4G), I get the error "couldn't install on USB storage or SD card".
This is after a fresh factory "reset", including all user data.
You could install Android revolution from the Standard One Development section. Thats what im running. Works great. Remember to flash the kernel...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
.
If you install Mikes Rom i linked above and the boot.img that goes with it you'll be fine. Right now you have a kernel from a different Firmware package so it isnt compatible.
This happened on one of my One's tonight as well. Turns out it was the boot.img that is most likely from the International One and a different version than what our stock AT&T Rom is (1.26 vs 1.27/8/9). I pulled the boot.img from my other One's nandroid and flashed it via fastboot and wifi was back.
I've posted it here.
Oh man, Thanks for the boot.img. Actually, I think that's the name of a song, right?
I want to try AR, but did want to keep it stock for a few days frist! Fortunately, at my bandwidth the download took several hours and by the time I looked your boot.img was here! Everything seems back to normal now.

This is what i plan to do :
Download and flash TWRP for t329w
Transfer http://pan.baidu.com/s/122oNL (version 1) to SD Card and the recovery_signed.img and boot_signed.img to SC Card
Reboot phone to recovery
Choose Wipe then Swipe to Factory Reset
or the best is Select Advance Wipe, tick all except sdcard then swipe to wipe
Select Install and select the version1 rom.zip then swipe to confirm flash
Wait until the installation is finished
Reboot phone to fastboot and connect it to your PC
Open command prompt, lead it to folder where you installed adb and fastboot and issue commands:
fastboot flash recovery C:\recovery_signed.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
fastboot flash boot c:\boot_signed.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot

One last thing, I forgot to mention I had taken a NAndroid backup before installing the ROM. I restored it and did a full wipe/factory reset, but I think the kernel is the problem (it shows the kernel used by the single sim ROM)

Also, this folder contains other images such as radio, hboot, dzdata etc. what are these for and would they help?

After restoring Nandroid, just fastboot flash the boot_signed.img and reboot and see whether it boot. It should work if the custom recovery is working well for your device. No need to fastboot flash recovery_signed.img first. Just boot and see whether it works. If it works then only you fastboot flash the recovery_signed.img if you want to.
Don't worry about other images as you can't flash those on a S-On device.

What do you mean shows Error : Cannot open boot.emmc.win ? boot.emmc.win is created by a TWRP recovery only. If there is one you don't have to "open" it, just copy it to your fastboot folder
Now you mentioned you use nexus prime as the recovery do you mean you use NexusRecovery ? Can you list here the file names inside the nandroid backup ? I don't think you have boot.emmc.win in NexusRecovery

Hmm, i went to Nandroid restore > Advanced restore > Restore boot
doesn't boot.
tried restoring the whole backup, doesn't boot.
even a wipe data/factory reset doesn't make it boot!
Will taking it to an HTC centre help? (I'm ready to pay some amt of money.)
Oh no... you don't know what fastboot flash means ? It is not using the recovery to restore boot. You need to copy the boot.img to your PC where you have all your fastboot files in a folder.
Try again this way as I don't have my PC with me. Replying to you with someone else PC.
In my ROM threads, you will see Boot.img_Installer_RCx.x.zip in post #1. Download any of them then do the following
1. Download theBoot.img_Installer_RCx.x.zip and extract it on your PC desktop
2. Reboot your DX to bootloader and connect to your PC (you should see the word "fastboot usb" in red color on the bootloader)
3. Open the Boot.img_Installer_RCx.x folder that you extracted, you should see a batch file Install Boot.img.bat there
4. Replace the boot.img with your boot.img (don't use the one that already in the folder). Try the boot_signed.img that you have, rename it to boot.img
5. Run that Install Boot.img.bat and when it stop just press any key to exit
6. Reboot
And yes, taking it to HTC centre will help but of course you need to pay them

There's a guy on FB who had a similar problem. He said he flashed a "brushed" ROM from a chinese forum (i got the links), well if you translate it means a modified ROM for the dual sim, right? He also said he was missing the RUU. Any help here would be appreciated.. Thanks a lot!
Heres what he said
"i used a brushed rom and installed through twrp recovery bro . check the link i sent u can translate it and find everything . i couldnt find ruu file"

Ohh, I just read it properly. I know what fastboot flash means. Using Android SDK > Platform tools > Shift+rightclick > open as command prompt > fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
I've already done it. This boot_signed.img in this thread seems weird.
After installing the custom ROM, restoring my nandroid backup, my phone was booting, but without the sim being recognized.
So I fastboot flashed the above (second post of this thread) boot_signed.img from c:\
But THAT boot_signed.img led to my phone being stuck in a bootloop > white start screen > turns black > try switching it on again > same thing
Hoped I could restore the nandroid boot using recovery advanced restore, but didn't work.
Will try fastboot flashing the MIUI boot.img (coz that's what was working initially, though without a sim, and the one in this thread's second post doesn't have a source), atleast that should get my phone booting. And will try searching for the boot of my nexus recovery backup, coz that will be the stock boot.img.
My last thing before I go to HTC .

I only flashed boot and recovery, not the others

No signal, phone number, SIM problem? Number 000-000-0000

As I was using CM 4.4.2, everything was going fine, I had 3 bars of LTE, and then I tried to make a call and it said mobile networks not available, I checked my signal in the status bar and it still said LTE and data still worked fine. I went to my phone settings and checked it and it said my mobile network was unknown, and my phone number was 000-000-0000. I wiped, and flashed CM10.2(4.3) and it did the exact same thing, only this time it said my phone number, but still, I couldn't make any calls or text, I've tried flashing two sense 5 roms and none of them display my phone number or let me call or text, but upon changing the subscription type from global to LTE/CDMA, it gives me LTE data, but that's it...Can anyone please help me?
Backup your internal storage.
Copy to pc.
Flash stock based Rom.
Flash stock recovery.
Perform a
factory reset from settings or recovery.
This will wipe everything and restore the radio partition.
Flash back a custom recovery and Rom.
Copy sd contents back to device.

Stock DNA Recovery Image
To flash the Recovery:
Place the file in your fastboot/adb directory on your computer.
Put the device in fastboot mode:
(Volume down and power until menu appears, select fastboot using power button)
Connect the device to the computer
The image is easily installed via an unlocked bootloader with the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery imagename.img
For example, I provided a recovery img named dnastockrecovery.img
So you would type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery dnastockrecovery.img
The image must be in your fastboot working directory.
Or you can use Flashify from the Play Store.
I recommend getting used to and familiar with doing it via fastboot though.

No problem bud.
Glad that worked out for you.
Same process always fixes 3g/4g issues after flashing many roms for me, on all of my devices.
:good:
This exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Busted my ass trying to fix it, after a few days of no service i finally got it.

The way you fixed it seems a lot easier than what I did. I returned to s-on, 1.15 hboot and the oldest firmware. Now my phone's bootloader will always say tampered too, since i had to HTC dev unlock it to get root.

:good: Can't thank you enough.
I have a second DNA that I have not been able to use.
Since Moonshine S-off I have not had any data connection. It has been very frustrating.
Followed your steps and now it's back up and running.
Awesome my friend, just awesome. Thank you.

Regarding the instructions you listed above, are these run from the phone or adb/fastboot? Going to perform this after work tonight and just wanted to be sure. Thank you!

I figured that out after i commented.
when u go to flash your custom rom back to you need to do a dirty clean or can it be a clean flash by wiping cache system sdcard everything.

You'll have to install a custom recovery first. I use TWRP. Install your custom ROM onto the sd card. Boot into recovery, make a nandroid, wipe in recovery> Data, Cache, and Dalvic, then install your ROM and reboot.
