Sorry, this might be really easy to solve (or not), but I just got my Moto E and played with it a bit, got Candy Crush playing and sound was OK,
Later I got my SD card on with music and played and no sound, I thought it was Google Play MusicĀ“s fault but no, no apps have sounds now
A friend called me to see if speakers were OK, apparently they are, but No sound getting out via games or apps, nothing, what can I do ?
Plug headset again and after some seconds disconnect now you should be fine... I think this is a common problem in Lumia series
Moto E , Unlocked bootloader , Rooted , Xposed
I managed to get 2 apps working:
Radio: there are 3 squares top right of the app, touched them and then pressed "Switch to speakers" and it goes perfect
TV APP: There was also a speaker/headset icon which I pressed and switched
Now, its seems my cellphone thinks everything sound should go through headphones only, how to switch this ?

So recently I bought an LG Optimus M from this guy on Craiglist. He used the phone for about 2 months, for basic things like calling, texting, and light web browsing. But suddenly one day the sound stopped working. I bought the phone for $30 since I want to use it as a wifi only device for music, apps, games, internet, and videos. The phone was on the default ROM with no user downloaded apps.
So when I got the phone, whenever I would adjust the ringer volume, the earpiece would start to make this weird hissing/vacuum noise. This would go on until the phone was restarted.
The speaker and mic don't work. Music and videos simply don't play any sound. Google voice search says no sound was heard. Using earphones (apple earphones with mic and remote) didn't help either, but I noticed the phone recognized when earphones were removed, by auto-pausing videos.
I thought it might be a kernel problem, so I rooted it and installed Cyanogen 7.1 (CM7). This didn't fix the problem.
After sometime though, I went to record a video. I opened it on the computer and noticed the sound recorded too o_o ! I then tested out my earphones, and well what do you know, they worked! Well, the left side was fine but the right side had really low volume. (they worked fine on other devices though). So something is weird about this phone.
After an hour the problem came back again. And I noticed something, there is a headset icon on the status bar, indicating that a headset is plugged in, yet I have nothing plugged in and no bluetooth devices connected.
Help? D: For the most part I at least want earphones to work on it ...
Okay so this is the most bizarre problem I have ever had with my phone. I am running stock 4.4.2 on a D6503 Z2 on AT&T's network. Rooted and running xposed.
Ear buds in questions are skull candy inked 2 (yeah I know they're a crap brand)
So on to the actual problem at hand:
This morning my ear buds just randomly stopped working when plugged in; outputting the sound through the external speakers instead. Found a temporary work around by switching the text to speech output from Google to Pico TTS. Ear buds worked again and the phone was recognizing that ear buds were plugged in, but sound switched to external speakers when the phone went to sleep or got a notification. A soft reboot seemed to fix this if I also changed the TTS output. That worked for about two hours and then TTS trick ceased working for me.
Once I got home, I tested other headphones and there is no issue with any of the three pairs I tried. Here is where it gets weird though, the skullcandy ear buds work just fine on everything else! I tried it on my Z1 tablet and my old HTC one x. Working fine. I am waiting for my boyfriend to come home to test on his phone because he also owns the D6503 Z2. so I will likely come back and edit to see if the problem is reproduced on that hardware.
The only things that have been done to it recently (last night) is a sizable (5 gigs or so) photo transfer off my phone to my desktop to free up some space and I downloaded an app called timely. Uninstalled timely to see if maybe that was the issue but no dice. Also updated a ton of my existing apps last night (amazon, battery widget reborn, cat alone, es file, google keep, hulu, light flow, netflix, swype, twitter, snapchat, uber, videostream, and youtube) Not sure if that is relevant but can't hurt to include as much info as possible.
What the heck is going on here?

to understand correctly what is issue u should first remove all 3rd party tools and customization
and then test ur device
when ur phone don't work with other device it means there 2 way communication that should be compatible on both sides.
what is ur headset?
:good:

skull candy inked 2.
The same problem is replicated on my boyfriends z2 that is running stock + xposed so i'm thinking its something with xposed. I'm not concerned enough to uninstall all of that one by one to see whats doing it i'll probably just get new headphones.
Hi, ill start off by saying sorry for mispelling, english is not my native language.
I bought this phone about 3 weeks ago and everything is stock and today i bought myself the Jaybird X2 wireless headset.
These two doesnt seem to work togheter, i followed every instruction, ive googled my eyes off today and still no answer.
I manage to connect them, i get the icon in the systembar and i can make phonecalls with them but with TERRIBLE crackling and static noises.
And to use them with media is impossible, with Soundcloud the connection just restart and the sound is at best stuttering ever 0.5 for 1 sec. And with the Stock Music app its about the same (yes ive seen that i can choose media and phone as an option in bluetooth settings, both are ON). EDIT: Its actually making youtube videos stutter too, not only in sound but in general.
I know you guys here are the smartest people when it comes to phones, is there anybody here that know how to fix this?

Just for information I have Jaybird BlueBuds X Bluetooth headset and it works properly with excellent sound. Did you try another BT handset to know if your headset is OK. Try that headset with other phone.

Hi All RN3 users,
I am writing this from India, using a Redmi Note3 Snapdragon, 32gb, running MIUI Global 8.0.6.0
I have been using this RN3 since 2 months now. I am music fan and was happily listening to songs on Rocket Player and few other Music players with Philips Earphone which I had got with Philips 1GB Mp3 player many years ago. It was a TRS jack and was working fine.
Suddenly few days ago the earphone went dead. After this I have been trying few others like JBL Headphone, LG earphone(TRRS) etc.
Everytime I plug in the ear/headphone and switch on the music player, the song plays for about 4 seconds and then OK Google voice assistant opens up on its own and stops the music. Push it to background and manually resume the music, it appears again. With my old Philips earphone I never had this problem and the top bar icon was always of headphone only. Now it changes to earphone with mic icon before OK google appears.
I browsed the net for solutions, forced stop the google app, disabled voice detection in settings, tried rebooting, tried 2-3 new earphones but no use.
According to some users who are facing this problem, it is a earphone jack and audio port hardware issue, earphone is being mistaken somehow as microphone and so the voice app is appearing.
But it was not there with my old model Philips earphone
Even now this problem is not there when I am playing FM Radio !!
No problem when playing the music with Phone Speaker
But only when playing music from music player apps and with Earphones inserted.
From net browsing I learned that even other brands like LG G3, HTC, Galaxy phones are facing this and with good branded earphones like Sennheiser, SoundMagic, JBL.
Also this problem was not there with MIUI v8050.
Is it a bug or a hardware issue? Is my audio-port damaged?
PLEASE help me solve this. What is the guarantee that buying a new earphone would solve this issue?
Hey Google, It is NOT OK to stop playing music.
I was also facing the same issue, and no its not a hardware issue. I solved this issue by modifying mixer file in /system/etc/ by changing a line from HIFI to LP and then a reboot.
Can you please give detailed info how to edit that file. Full path where to locate that file.
My phone is not rooted, I don't know how to root. I hope the solution you have suggested doesn't need rooting.
Open Google > Settings > Voice > Hands Free > uncheck "For wired Headsets".
OK google Detection > Disable everything...
Try this and see if the problem was gone

Hi madkiran, I have tried doing this and sorry to say it did not help. What you have suggested is the only action we as non-expert users could attempt.
I fail to understand how despite disabling it pops up once music starts playing.
Hello! I've searched everywhere for answers and fixes about my problem, but unfortunetly I didn't find anything.
Problem 1: Since I installed the latest update to Oreo [RNE-L21I 8.0.0.332 (C432)] I have problem with the stock EQ, and others from the Play Store - when bass boost is turned on, the sound from headphones is awful. When bass boost is turned off this issue disappears, but is annoying since I really enjoyed the sound before installing this update. I tried different pairs of headphones, different EQ apps, restarting, Hard resseting, etc. no fix unless I turn off bass boost.
Problem 2: When I connect my phone via AUX cable to my car, home subwoofer or anything like that music play normally for 2-3 mins then somehow volume is turned down (and when I check is turned to the max, so it's not that the volume is turned down to protect the hearing) and the only fix is to get out the cable and insert it again. This is also really annoying, because I can't listen to one song normally. Yes, I tried different cable (like I already said it happens to different devices), hard resseting and etc. And yes, the problem is still on when I use the stock music app, YouTube and other apps, so it's not an issue with the app. I also found out that my dad has the same issue with his Huawei Y5 II.
I really look forward to any fix since I really enjoy this phone, it's been only a month since I bought it and yes, it is in warranty but I want to try anything that I can do to fix this before I send it.
