Hi,
A friend of mine has asked me to take a look at his tablet. All that happens when powering it on is the android logo and nothing else.
It's a chinese import so I'll give what information I can gain from the tablet.
Model Number: P10AN01
10.1" (by the looks of it)
It has the word "DeLUX" written on the back (stylised as I've written it)
It has a HDMI port (plus all the other standard ports)
That's it.. I don't know how to get into recovery (although I've tried holding every combination of buttons I can think of when powering on).
I have a feeling the ROM can only be re-flashed via the SD card but I wouldn't know where to start in looking for the ROM I need.
I am hoping that most of these dodgy imports are generic and there's a pool of ROMs somewhere that people use and one of you lovely people could direct me to
I do find the occasional thread with the model number listed and some ROMs to download but as I'm not confident that it won't be the wrong ROM I have came seeking advice.
Can anyone offer up any advice?
Thanks for reading
Nobody got any pointers or should I just give up on this?

A relative of mine has a cheap tablet and it's pretty beaten up. However, he wants to give it to his niece and isn't of a mind to buy a better one. He got it second hand, and the thing turns on, and goes to an "android" screen. There, it does nothing. It freezes and stays that way until it dies. I was wondering what the best way to go about trying to fix this thing. Would identifying it be the first thing and if so, could anyone offer some guidance? I'm no stranger to rooting and flashing custom roms and the like, just not sure where I'd start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bump
ninjames, have you checked if this device has a recovery installed. If you are lucky and find the correct buttons to boot to recovery maybe resetting to factory defauls will bring it back to life.
Can post a link to a picture of your device (front and back). Maybe someone will recognize it and will point you to a stock rom which you can reflash.
- Identify the device (OEM, model etc.)
- If it's a "known" OEM, it probably has its own forum section here, so check that out for more help if that's the case.
- Try to google "device name + model + bootloader buttons", and if you're lucky, the bootloader will have its own stock recovery (like Samsungs, LGs etc.)
Hi, I'm a bit stuck with a problem on my S2 HD LTE SHV-E120K. While once playing a game the phone heated up pretty much (the charger was connected). After that it rebooted. I thought that the stock ROM got corrupted so I changed the recovery from Tegrak (phone was rooted with this a while back) to CWM 6.0.3.6 and loaded CM10.2 (cm-10.2-20131027-NIGHTLY-dalikt). To my surprise its still rebooting. But when I disconnect the charger the phone reboots and at times when charging it also reboots. If the charger is not connected the phone does not boot up.
Can anyone say what or where the problem may be?:crying:
Sounds like USB board on the fritz. I don't know for certain if your specific variant uses the exact same boards as the I9100, but have a look at KeithRoss39's guide to replacing the USB board in General (search for 'replacing USB charger board').
You'll probably find Keith's how-to will hold true for your model as well (so far as following the same procedure goes), you just have to ensure you order the correct replacement part - and the way you do that is by removing the board currently in the phone, noting the revision or part number, and making sure you order the exact same part.
Wow! I did suspect this but never thought it could be the case. I'll look at that article. But anymore suggestions are welcome.
But if the battery is fully charged then the phone should boot up without a problem right? But it doesn't It needs the charger to be connected for it to boot.
When you say USB board would you be able to say if you mean the USB port specifically or some small chip on the USB board assembly?
The board has the port attached and is really cheap to replace (~US$10 or so), and quite replaceable by most people if you follow Keith's guide. When the board starts acting up, it often shows symptoms you're describing. And as it's a cheap/easy fix, that's what I'd be doing. Try a clean install of stock first (even if you've come from stock recently) to absolutely rule out a rom-side problem if you want to. I'd be surprised if it's still not the same though.
As to specifically what component on the board is causing the issue, no way to say for certain, and it's not really relevant here; the fix is still replacing the entire board given the modular design of phones these days & the low cost of doing so.
I saw Keith post to another thread in Q&A just now, I'm sure he'll also post to this thread & give you a bit more info (he's the resident expert on these things here).
Ok got you. I have not been able to find any links to stock rom downloads. Do you have any? Also, what recovery is to be used with the stock rom? My phone was bought from Korea on ebay. It displays ''Olleh'' in the boot image. Just to let you know so you may be able to figure out which stock rom this is.
I've checked Samfirmware, and they don't have firmware for your device specifically, so I have no idea (beyond Googling) where you might find stock firmware or if you can use firmware from other devices in the same 'SHV' family. I honestly don't know.
I gave you advice about the USB board because it's generic & quite likely the source of your problems, but I'm not even a little familiar with your device so I can't give you detailed/specific help with it.
Given how little traffic the S2 forums get these days & how few people here have SHV devices, your best bet (other than waiting, and it could be a very long wait) is to trawl through the forums here with XDA searches (or Google searches with XDA appended to your search terms, XDA search isn't the best at times) to find the info you need.
Would you know how to remove CWM recovery and get it back to stock recovery after I install the stock rom?
If you flash a stock rom, stock recovery will overwrite CWM. Everything will be stock (recovery, kernel, etc).
Edit - Assuming your phone is similar to the I9100 in having recovery baked into the kernel (unlike more recent Samsung phones which have the kernel & recovery in separate partitions).
hi,
"maybe you saw this post elsewhere but i was forwarded here so the rest is the same"
have elephone p2000 with some custom rom on it and working stock recovery. than i flash new rom called resrom 1.5, rooted BUT internal storage is access denied and 0kb. Just to say that my usb port is broken and will be hard to replace it because someone was trying to make it work and totally screwed up.
So anyway I cannot connect to a pc and fix things. Next, cant access recovery, tried to flash new one but to no avail. I am still rooted but even when using some apk to flash new rom or recovery i get msgs like "not enough space" or nothing is happening.
info on the phone:
ELEPHONE P2000 MT 5692
4.4.2
MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V35.P8.2014/11/03
KERNEL 3.4.67 [email protected] #1
BUILD P2000_20150228_RESTORN
Play store ok, calls and the rest is fine, apk i am using: mobileuncle, rashr, auto flasher but nothing gets job done, flashyfy doesn't work and many others. I was looking into init files saw some guide but don t want to mess things even more so i gave up, also wanting to flash boot.img but no proper or functional apk for it.
sometimes on phone start stuck in a loop of screen turn on for 20 sec and then off and its like that until i remove battery, all before rom logo, same thing if i try use buttons combination for recovery or whatever i press in any combination nothing changes.
This is not my first smartphone but is of this kind and funny companies, had problems before with Sony, Samsung but in this extent never, always find YOU guys everybody clever in some fields and as a community more than THE BEST, as you can see i dont post or seek answers by asking, i rather research until now. I fell hopeless, useless and never more stupid, or i m just tired of looking for the answer. In some other case i would give it to my child to play the games an to hell with this phone but its my wife's and she dont want to by a new phone for some reason. Help me to be the man of the house again, kidding, loosing it....
I think I gave you overall picture of the phone state and someone might show me the way to have fully working phone. I forgot, if you are wondering how do i charge battery, well I take it out twice a day and charging on the base of other broken phone, that part i did cover, help me with the rest.
p.s my SD card is working most of the time so this is my only connection to a pc....

Hello i have a 16GB chinese tablet that stopped working (boot loop, nothing i tried would help) and have been hunting around everywhere for a compatible firmware to flash. Perhaps in haste, after reading that the Versus TouchTab 10 may be the same product, i tried flashing a full .img ROM that was on softpedia for the Versus but it has not helped. If anything it's only made things worse as now as the red light doesn't turn on at all with the power button. I have also tried a couple of other ROM's for similar tablets with similar specifications but no joy. The tablet does boot into LOADER mode though and i can flash the device without any problems, so it's not completely dead.
Might anyone have a copy of the firmware for this tablet stashed away somewhere? I'd really appreciate it if they might be able to upload it somewhere if they do.
The tablet has no branding but the parameter file i extracted before jumping in an flashing it said CnM-TP-10DC-16-B for the model. So it would seem this is a CnM TouchPad 10 DC 16GB. Hope this is helpful.
Many thanks,
James.
What board version is it? I have a couple of dumped ROMs for this tablet that I might be able to help you with.
hey guys,
i'm having hard time to find out how exactly to flash my old oem tablet and i really dont expect anyone here to search anything about it(i do that...), just to guide me in general please.
i just found this old tablet and thought i could try to use it as a touchscreen-mp3 player connected to my amplifier...
i charged it and powered it but stuck on "android" logo, i tried many key combinations to put it to recovery mode but i just couldnt find it i guess.
then i started searching of how to flash it...
what is visible from outside is "f&u ETB7405" which brings almost nothing(it's just an oem model) so i opened to see inside where i can see one chip "allwinner a13" and "tzx-q8 713B 6".
it has 7" screen.
based on these i finally found a fimware (using PhoenixCard) that boots normally BUT i get no touchscreen or wifi working. i can connect a usb mouse and have access to it.
do i also have to flash any extra firmware/driver for just the touchscreen or wifi?
what is the most important characteristic("A13" or "TZX-Q8...") to concentrate my search for?
why is it so fcn difficult to find a working firmware???
in case anyone else is having the same issues and hopelessly tries to find the firmware for his device and bumps in unanswered posts or dead links, guys just try different "A13" firmware! Although i'm not really sure that it even has to be "A13"!
i was trying to find firmware with the most of my specs on its name like f.e. "A13-TZX-Q8-713B6" but the paradox happened. the most similar firmware names were not good and i tried a lot! instead i finally decided to just search for "A13" firmware and try any of them one by one despite the names. that was it! i have already found a couple!
from here: ww.androidtablets.net/threads/firmware-based-on-allwinner-a13-roms.72449
a13-TJ P860-V7.1-gsl1680-MID-756-V4.2-20130823-test-keys.zip
all works but there is only "english" and "thai" in keyboard languages.
A13_TWD_MID-gslX680-800X480_20130423 test-keys.rar
all works but touch screen "mirrored" sideways!
good luck to you guys!
thanks
