Hey guys, so I just got my Z Ultra C8633, and so far so great, however I have only one concern and that's the volume when talking on speaker phone does not go loud enough and its pretty annoying considering its a such a big device.
I have played with all the sound settings and it only makes a little difference with music, not actually talking to someone on the speaker phone.
Is there anything else I can do, or get some kind of software to boost the volume.
Appreciate any feedback...
have a look in the mod section, I think there has been a couple of mixerpath.xmp fixes - you will have to root though
I flashed this, and it is good...great.

I am looking for a good free App in the Google store someone can recommend, because there is no way I am rooting my phone. Quite frankly I don't know how people can mess with their phones like that unless they are professionals or just doing it on older phones they don't care about.

Because in most cases when something does go wrong it's easy to revert back to stock? And perhaps because people are naturally curious and not everyone is like you? Or perhaps they just want to get more out of their devices. Rooting is the root of xda.
Please forgive me resurrecting this older thread, but I am also interested in a nonroote app to help increase the volume. I am more than willing to root, but it looks like I am out of luck. I recently purchased the Z Ultra GPE already upgraded to 5.0 Lollipop (upgraded before I received it via ebay seller). I don't think it's possible for me to root at this point, so I have been looking around for a volume mod or app that does not require root. Any out there that actually work?

Hello there,
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a very happy 2012.
I am an phone geek and I have an LG Optimus One, neither modded nor even updated once (curses to the blasted firmware update drivers). In this community of phone users, I feel like chicken- I am scared at the very thought of toying with the OS and hardware, even though I have no fear of OEM updates. And being on a tight budget I can't afford to damage my phone due to a modding goof-up.
My question is: HOW DO YOU INCREASE THE PERFORMANCE OF AN LG OPTIMUS ONE P500(AKA THE V, PHOENIX) WITHOUT ANY MODDING?
If there is any app that safely does the task, tell me please. I use TasKiller and the memory optimizer inside NetQin antivirus.
Help me!!!!

This is what I don't want from any of you as a reply:
"Use a kernel, man."
"Why don't you root your phone?"
"Use a custom OS like CyanogenMod!"
"You should overclock your phone, it's very easy..."
and the dumbest of all replies:
"You should sell your phone and buy something like a Galaxy or Wildfire...."
or "I know a guy, he's an expert, dude, you should give your phone to him to mod..."
I won't give my phone to ANYBODY, YOU HEAR? ANYBODY!unless he's an authorized LG service engineer or so.
Waiting for a reply ASAP.
Then ask Santa Claus......

In that case it will take you some time to realize that you are the dumb one, not us.
hhhhhhhhhhhh he is like...
I know all the answers but i cant and i still want the best xD
Long explanation in short: You can't.
Yeah it's weird that you want to improve your phone while shooting down the very solutions to your problems. I know the feeling though of being scared to screw up your phone.
I screwed mine up in like three days after trying to install custom recovery. I don't know what went wrong. It was rooted just fine but this was during those times without Clockwork Recovery support and amonra needed a PC to be installed (didn't know about Terminal emulator until after). Brought the phone to LG since it was still under warranty. They fixed it a week after.
Then I went back to trying and read more and asked more questions about the stuff I was doing to my phone. The developing support for this phone is awesome. You really shouldnt be afraid anymore.
And yeah there really isnt a lot you can do to improve your phone's performance without a custom rom + a new kernel + overclocking... all of which you don't like to do
Read, read, read, read, than read some more... Hope to God you have a warranty on your phone...

Sorry, but if you want better performance without messing with the software at the very least, you need to buy a better phone.
As long as you read instructions carefully you will be fine. Most of us O1 users were first time rooters, but we pulled through. There is no app that give give you the power of a galaxy s II.

O1 is already a good performer. If you don't want to take rist, just stop visiting XDA! You'll certainly be a more satisified person, believe me!

Of course know that the Optimus can't become a Galaxy S II, but still there must be some trick that can boost the power of the phone. I finally fixed the drivers and now it's running LG's 2.3.3 Gingerbread, and there has been a huge increase. I know I am a bit shameless and crazy, but still if you know anything that could make my day, I will be happy to hear.

Use a launcher from android market instead of the LG one. It will make your homescreen and app drawer FEEL smoother without actually changing anything. I recommend Launcher Pro.
Beside that....nope, there's nothing much else you can really do. Honestly rooting, flashing roms etc is very easy and risk free if you're good at following instructions.
I'm sorry if this has been answered before but I'm using tapatalk and can't figure out how to search the forums...
Anyway, after reading this forum, I'm pretty hesitant to do anything major to my phone...I'm pretty content to just wait for the ICS OTA, however when I do get the OTA I would like to at least install Nova launcher and I'm pretty sure you need to be rooted for it to work...
So my first question is, if I do root, do I have to unlock the bootloader? And in doing so does that prevent me from receiving future OTAs?
My second question is about leedroid tweaks...I'm not a huge fan of my pink soft keys and I've read that leedroid tweaks let's you dim or turn them off completely...if I'm wanting to use that would I be romming my phone?
Sorry for sounding like such an idiot...I had a droid x and it was wayyy different from this phone as far as modding goes and from what I've gathered I can't just SBF my Rezound if I get into some trouble like I could on my X...I also had a lot of hardware issues with my X that lead to me going through a whopping 9 replacement phones, so my trust in electronics is minimal and the last thing I want to do is get stuck with a voided warranty.
Thanks for the help in advance and sorry again...I know from the video I watched to sign up that you guys get pretty annoyed with people like me but these forums seem like the most legitimate place for answers.
I know there probably are like 50 other threads of people asking the same thing, I've looked through a LOT of them, none of them actually tell me anything useful I want to hear. So, as the Title says, I'd love to know if there is actually any type of update, or way to update the phone to ICS or JB... A lot of people keep saying no, but some others are certain there is a way, I've found a couple of root options, but they all seem shady. If anyone knows how to work out this phone, to get a higher version of Android, I'd appreciate it, if the need to root happens, then some advice about it would be appreciated...
Phone: GSII SGH-S959G from Straight Talk.
Thank you
I have the same phone and been looking for a ICS rom for it, no luck so far. I did root mine and mod the original rom just fine. Over all it didn't add anything to it but I wanted to use the titanim backup app and others who need root. I know straighttalk phones are always a little behind others sold by att and bigger companies, so maybe someone will come up with a rom soon. May check cyogenMod see if they support it.

Yeah I've seen that not everyone put time into Straighttalk phones, and so far there is still nothing. I won't lose hope though!

Hi everyone.
Firstly can I say I am quite new to all this rooting etc but have some general knowledge with my previous experiences with the MOTOACTV.
I wondered if anybody might be able to give some advice as I have just recently received my Truesmart and wanted to know what should I do with it when i first get it..... and no I don't mean sell it!!! I've heard that I should root it and apply the security patch as well as other fixes for brightness etc but I can't appear to find any links. Maybe I'm not seeing the correct files.
Is there any future for the TS as I wanted to use it as a companion using SWApp link but I fear it may be dead already. Am I better off looking towards something else e.g MOTO 360?. Your opinions would be much appreciated.

Technically, this is the web?.
I don't understand why some people seem to get upset when others make topics asking questions. It's not usually general knowledge for most people.
I can't tell you what a bootloader is but I sure as hell can spend all day complaining about them, lol. Literally everyone I know personally has never heard the term.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but what's wrong with people making topics before exhausting every other possibility to find the answer. Nothing wrong with conversation and who knows what random and unexpected things you could learn.
Hey, sorry I'm getting the breaks done on my car at the moment. I'm writing this instead of reading old magazines, lol
Chances are, we won't see this phone rooted anytime soon. especially now that the Stylo 6 has arrived. Locked Bootloaders are not your friend if you root phones. Mostly DEVs now only concentrate on the Flagship phones...
...Follow the $$$$ trail...
I sure miss the good old days...LoL 2013-2017 were my favorite years

I never was upset.
My POV:
It's neither the task of anyone here to re-publish (excerpts of ) articles simply created by "copy & paste", nor to do a related Google search and then list the links found, nor to tell the questioner that he/she is completely wrong that he/she is totally confusing things - the latter may be considered as being rude.
N.B.
Wondering why you didn't assist OP, instead of posting that garbage?

Posting "Garbage" ? Nah....that's good stuff right there. As for helping OP, your right. I was off topic, but really it's no big deal. Xda is not flooded with pointless threads. I know they prevent pointless posts and topics.....but a few never hurt as long as it's Android related.
OP, it's a shame but don't get your hopes up for ever rooting the Stylo 5 (Damn Bootloaders!). There is still adb though. I bet it's not long before that is gone to. You can get rid of bloatware and do some other cool stuff with it. If you need help with getting it running on a PC you can simply search it on Xda, or even pm me.
But for the love of God and all that is Holy!.......Do not make a thread asking about it!?.
I don't even bother using Google when it comes to Android. The good people on Xda are the only ones I know will be helpful and honest.....That and most likely Google would just get me here anyways, lol.
Again, sorry. I don't mean to be a jerk if I sounded like one at anytime in this novel. I didn't intend to write so much when I started, lol it seems to happen a lot though. There ya go some more good stuff.
The End!
Bottom-line answer is...
Hi,
Sadly after several hours' search, GInMF. Yes, I found several "Root your LG Stylo 5" with 25 different methods posts, NONE of which seem to work. I think most of them are thinly disguised ways to get gullible people to part with their money. The problem that I mostly encountered is, somewhere along the line, they just say "install TWRP recovery"...ignoring the fact that this phone model DOES NOT have one on the TWRP device page. So, the specific question, again, becomes: is there any way to root this phone, even if I'm happy with the stock image?. If any of the XDA experts on this thread know of one, PLEASE point me to it. If there isn't one, pls state that so I can put this effort to rest, either way. Thank you!

I remember when the original Atrix dropped first phone with a dual cpre processor. I was a kid in a candy shot holy he'll. The yesrs devs spent on that phone even after th3 other flags came out was astonishing. Miss the clunky ****er.
not only that, but I have tried some of the other websites ... Bricks now I only use XDA for my questions like this... Currently I am shopping for a new phone, I have the Stylo 3 still but it's on its last leg.
It's been a good time but damn it I Was hoping to get a Stylo 7

Technically there is a TWRP image for LG Stylo 5, however it should be noted that it is an unofficial TWRP image and should be done with the utmost delicacy. As to the whole rooting your phone thing, of course you can. Let me be a little more specific on that though. You cannot root an android if it's newer than 6 months (sadly for all you "tech nerds/junkies" you are all wrong when it comes to whether or not you can root certain phones). I know this for a fact. However I can tell you one thing for absolute sureness. I wouldn't waste the time or money trying to root an LG Stylo 5 when you can get cheaper phones (that run Android 11 and higher) at Walmart. And just so everyone knows, there's no need to root a phone with Android 11 and higher because of the fact that you can use LADB to uninstall system applications and bloat ware. But let me warn you as I've come across this myself and done it as well, but there are certain brands like Alcatel that won't allow you to uninstall the bloat ware, but you can still disable it using ADB commands. Lastly, if you get a phone with Android 11 and higher, DO NOT UNINSTALL anything with com.android, com.sec.android, or anything along those lines because it WILL cause the phone to go into a permanent boot loop at which you'll have to factory reset the phone using the recovery mode.
