My parents bought a tablet (Toshiba AT200) that doesn't come with all the google apps. I would like to install Google Plus and Play store on it but I think I need to flash all gapps onto the device, not just Google plus or the play store apk. I've done it many times on my phones and tablets but I'm wondering is it safe to do so on this device knowing that the ROM the device comes with is not stock nor one of the well-known mods.
I checked the Android version is 4.0.3.
Thanks,
Hi all,
I am new to this and sorry if I am repeating a thread. I have searched and haven´t really found my answer.
So I bought a Chinese phone with MTK6735 and Android 5.1. The phone does not come rooted.
The issue is that it does not come with Google Play or the GAPPS. I downloaded a copy of Google Play and installed it directly from the web browser of my phone. Now, when I click on the Play store, it doesn't really open, it's as if fails to load the app. (crashing immediately).
Can someone please advise?
Thanks
Download Google Play Services
All you need to do i download Google play services.
You can find the link by searching on Google.
Download the gapps .
Download the Gapps (search google)and flash it through recovery then it may work,i am not sure but i think it will work

Do I need to root the phone for it?
If you have recovery installed then i think not.

The Play Store crashes because it must be installed as a system app, and when you install it from an .apk it installs as a user app. It must be converted to a system app. But this requires root.
Sorry to bother again. I have tried with many methods and I still can´t.
I have tried downloading a google installer by Eric Xiang. This installed the Google frameworks and play services, but when I open Play store, it just tells me "Unfortunate, Google Play Services has stopped working". So, there's no way to open it.
Alternatively, I have tried to root it, and then install a recovery (as it was not installed by default). But here, I am having problems in rooting the device. I have tried with latest version of Kingroot and still failed. Not too sure, it may be because the device is with Android 5.1? or because the device has one of the latest Mediatek chips MT6735?

Again, you have to be rooted. Mediatek can be difficult. Sorry, but I am no help to you with this.
I tried to uninstall existing Google apps in an attempt to free up RAM on my ZTE Blade S6 and it worked. That is until I tried to convert the Google play store and play services to a user app, now neither work. I have the correct gapps for my version of Android (5.0.2) and was wondering if I could just flash then with Twrp and everything would work again. I'm on stock ROM with root
Got an iDeaUSA CT740K tablet with missing Google play services. I wasnt even able to sing into any google account because of the missing google play services. However, I found an APK version of the services for the tab and installed it. It fixed the problem, well, for a while. Whenever i install the apk it fixes the problem and i am able to download stuff from google play, however, google play services remove from itself after about 10-20min and i cant download anything from google play again. I tried to move the apk into root/system/apps but it didnt help (the device is rooted). I wanted to flash gapps but i dont have a custom recovery (cant do it with the stock one, as it seems) to do it so, because there isnt any available yet. Also, there isnt a stock firmware available so cant re-flash it over the current one. I tried factory reset and erased internal memory but didnt help. I even removed rood (unrooted the device), same.
There are 3 games from fox which appear on the tab even after being uninstalled. I assume that the tablet cough some viruses and they are the reason for this happening.
If someone has a solution, feel free to share it
Thanks!
Hi,
I've got my hands on a cheap chinese phone from a brand called "V7". The model is "Zyro". Unfortunately, the phone didn't come to me with pre-installed Google Play store. Nor is it rooted or flashed with custom recovery like TWRP. I wanted to install some apps on it via transferring data from PC to the phone. I've sourced apps such as Youtube, Facebook, Messenger, Google Internet Services, Google Play Store etc. from a trusted website apkmirror. Unfortunately, most of the apps seem to cause errors while attempting to install. The errors state that the apps are not meant "for this device". I've tried versions designed for numerous architectures such as 32 and 64 bit, as well as arm64-V8a based CPUs. I can't understand why is this happening as majority of those apps state in the description that they are either universal or are expected to work since Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. I have problems installing GBoard (Google Keyboard) and Samsung Keyboard on the device as I'm stuck with some chinese virtual input called "Sogou". I've tried to flash the device with custom recovery but unfortunately didn't find a version of TWRP which would be compatible with my device. The same happened when I've tried to find any sort of custom rom or even official, android stock rom. I would like to ask you:
1. What are possible causes of such majority of apps being not compatible with this device despite the fact that it seems to be a generic android phone?
2. Why universal input apps such as Google's Gboard crash after a while or do not install at all?
3. How can I safely flash the device with a custom recovery?
Thanks in advance
Eva
