I bricked my SGPT12 Xperia Tablet S. After attempting to install the "signed-txs03_201-ota-130705006.zip" everything seemed to go downhill. The problem is I can't get into recovery/download mode at all. I've tried every possible combination (Pow+VolUp, Pow+VolDown, Pow+Volup+Voldown) to get into recovery, but nothing has worked. The Sony logo appears, then the "blue streak" picture shows up and loops forever.
The only good news is that after awhile, ADB starts working on the tablet. I have already tried "adb reboot recovery" and "adb reboot-bootloader" but each time it just restarts the tablet and shows the Sony logo and proceeds to the "blue streak" animation.
I've tried using the S.onyXT.S [UNBRICKER] tool, but that one keeps on failing when attempting to write the files to the SDcard.
Please, can anyone help me out?
Edit: Also, I forgot to mention. When I try to "su" using ADB, it gives me two errors: "Stopped (signal)" and "Segmentation fault". Since I can't regain root through terminal, I can't use most of the tools of A.I.O.

Hey GUYS please HELP ME
I have followed the Guide to root the xperia x10 in this forrum. So here is what happened. After completing step 3, it all went fine but then the thread says I have to install the Market fix for X10i users. After done that, my phone restart and it won't let me to go inside. It has a weird picture.
Anyway, can you guys please tell me to unroot or whatever to gain the access to the phone again? I tried the phone repair from PC suit to flash the x10 but it doesn't work anymore.
PLEASE HELP ME ...
we have the same problem mate pls. help us.....
c'mon xDA Developers!!!!!!!!!!! My phone is now relying on you guys
Reflash your phone using the flash unbrick tool and redo rooting steps
Just re-root from step 1 and your fone will be fine.
The PC com cannot work anymore cuz your region does not support FW update higher than 023. If you finish step 2, your fone FW ver is 023 already.
NO it's not that Simple. If I was able to flash back my device then I wouldn't post this thread. Please look at my pictures that were attached. In the CMD window, it says Unable to open channel, Getlasterror= 0"
I think there is no way to get inside the phone ....
Check if i did anything wrong
Ok HERE Is what I did (Refer to the pictures)

Why Can't u stop all the useless posts? If I was able to find them then I wouldn't post this thread here. Im sure that U just say that but in fact u don't know anything mate
Please re-check your device ID and make sure its right in your DeviceID.txt file. If it is wrong then you will get a device not found error. Remember it will change everytime you change USB slots.
Check your Device Id if you have more than one!LOL Fate was faster!
Have you tried it with Omnius?
THE PROBLEM IS NOT FROM ANY OF THAT... AFTER RESTARTING MY PC and UNINSTALL THE PC COM and PC SUITE... IT WORKS !!!
Thanks guys!! Helping me alot...
mine is going back to 023 now...the solution is i rooted my phone on my other computer and the device id is completely different when i first rooted my phone on my other computer.....thanks for the help mates....
recovery
Hi,
just wanted to let you know it turned me onto a path that helped me get my " Stuck on Sony Ericsson" screen: i work with Linux and i had to use PC compnion to restore the phone which worked!!!!!!!! now reinstalling another custom rom.........the Dark Edition HD is the one that (nearly) bricked mine so , no, not that one
thanks again.........
Reflash with Seus? Pc companion
Just a Question to increase my knowledge. Why do people use that old methods to root x10's ? Why not use simple ON CLICK in app called Flashtool ? I've used that method many times and it's fastest, safest possible way to root, flash ROM's etc ? am I missing something ?
This thread should be in the q&a section

For that screen, I'd recommend either using seus to repair your phone first, then if that didn't work, try downloading the flash tool and DoomLord's prerooted recovery image or stock firmware in the. Ftf file type and flashing those via flash tool. That should help somewhat but if you can't get anything after that then take it back to the store. the moment you can get it to boot to the kernel screen, you're fine since you can just wipe and install a new ROM. Best of luck! Tell me how it turns out!! :-D

WHY YOU GUYS REPLYING TO A THREAD THAT IS NEARLY 2 YEARS OLD
CLOSED.
I received my nook tablet last sunday, and I root it successfully. Yesterday I want to reroot it, and it broke down.
Here is my operation: firstly, I used power button+N to get back to the Factory Default, but it seems doesn't work. Then, I tried power off and power on eight times, and I saw the recover page in a flash then the screen become a big exclamation mark on it and says, please restart you device...
And my nt is dead!
Every time I start my nt, I only see this big exclamation mark. After that it power off automaticly.
I think maybe I delete the root file. Can anyone give me some suggestion, please...
Did you try the recover from sd card?

Hello @zhangqithu i have read about that exclamation mark and it is not good news, but lets try to bring it to life. First do you know what adb is, have you read about it? when you plug your device to your pc it is recognized? . Please give more information to what you can access or not. Second you say you already tried the restore option and you say doesnt help, give more detailed information too.

Thank U very much for reply. I don't know adb. When plug the nt to my pc, it can't be recognized, this is because the device can't work. I have used the 8 time restore method to restore my device, and I saw the restore process start, but then it terminated and the screen shows : please restart you device, if the erro continue, please contact our customer service. Then the device power off.
Evertime, I power on my device, the screen display that and power off.

I see so it power off it doesn't stay in the exclamation mark, uhmm that does not help much. I really think you should do the same as the woman did in the other thread, at list B&N gave her a retailed nook and kept the bricked one, later on when Adam come up with an official unbrick mod or something you can hopefully bring it to life again (Have faith, Adam is well known for unbrick hacks).

Good night
I have read many times over now jcase method and have tried it twice now without success- clearly I am doing something wrong. I have working adb on my pc and all the prerequisite files in the correct directory. I seem to be going wrong at the "adb restore backup.ab" point- it says allow it to restore but in my terminal that process is very quick and the phone does nothing. Am I not waiting long enough?...and appears as if nothing else happens so I go to first terminal and stop it as directions say...but after that the next important 5 code steps say failed or file not found-is that what is supposed to happen?...I finish the remaining steps and then head to htc un unlock but it comes back FAILED Anyone with success have any tips?? I'm stumped...but not bricked...yet!
are you connected to the internet during that time ?
Allowing it to restore means to acknowledge it on the phone itself. Touch the appropriate button on the phone.

Unlock your phone and click the allow button.

And after touching the "allow" button,, be prepared to wait several minutes. That command is restoring a 300 mob for. It takes awhile.

more Q's
Appreciate the help guys! So I should see a message on my phone that requires me to allow? That I did not see or do...sounds hopefull. I have been thinking my adb version was not supporting restore as when I did the restore step all I see is like a help screen, with no direction to allow, or continue or yes/no.....and yes I was connected to internet...should I not be? Won't be able to try this again till tonight but really appreciate the help!
After using the adb restore command, you should turn your phone screen on, and there should be a message waiting that is asking you to confirm that you want to restore.
If you aren't seeing that message after turning your phone screen on, then it sounds like your adb might be too old, our you got a bad download of backup.ab

Will check all this stuff out, all sounds like it's pointing me in the right direction and I am a bit complsive so I will get there sooner or later, any other thoughts will be greatly appreciated and investigated...I think my files are where they are supposed to be BUT I will check and re-check
try it and let us know dude ..do not proceed until you are sure backup is done
Ok...some success, did it in win 8 but I think it was my version of adb that was the problem..not version of windows or files-however I had a zillion files and shortcuts on 7 and I was getting confused so I switched.
I did now get the backup to run, unlocked and allowed on phone...let it finish and all seemed great but last step before reboot...the "adb shell dd if=/sdcard/CIDBLOCK.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5" code returned something like permission denied? Anyway I did reboot and did try for the hell of it, to unlock at HTC...but of course It FAILED. I did not factory reset this time so I am thinking maybe that's the problem and will try again later. Any other thoughts on this demise?
Maybe windows 8 is the problem

Could be except that it did work up to that (almost) last step...I did read to factory reboot before trying again but I did not...mostly because I was lazy...but also because the image files were already in my phone storage anyway and that,s what the first few steps do...I started from backup.ab code part so I will do the whole deal over...later-burned at the moment.

Hey all,
Love what you guys are doing here. A community-sourced forum for development and discussion is a great resource to have, so thanks for building it.
I am having a problem with my Legend failing to read any and all SD cards I put into it. I've googled all over the place for a solution and found only one thread on here with the same problem, but the thread had died in March of last year.
This problem is different than the one I've seen most commonly in my searches. I do not have a USB connectivity issue. I also do not have an adb connectivity issue. I have repeatedly tried booting into fastboot and running these commands:
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
fastboot reboot
But my SD still will not read. I have used a brand-new 16GB Samsung class 10 and the 16GB that I got with the Legend from a friend of mine.
The problem started after I tried to get data2ext working on my phone, which I had done successfully with my Transformer. I was following this guide to do so, and if I remember correctly, I began having troubles after doing the "wipe, ROM, flash mod, run commands, see if it worked" cycle a couple of times. After following the guide, my phone still wouldn't move my data over to the SD. One of the times I tired to do it again, CWM told me it couldn't mount my sdcard in order to find a .zip to flash. From then on, I couldn't get the phone to recognize cards anymore.
Thank you for your help, if you're able to able to give me a hand. And thanks for taking the time to read my post, either way! :good:

Did you mean to only post "Ok"?
First off,i would like to apologize for being such an amateur. This is my first post on this forum,so don't get angry on me for breaking some rules (forgive me im new ,idk if i should post this here or somewhere else, don't worry i will be polite ).Anyway as the title says,im having a bit of a problem,or to be more precise a huge one.
So lately i was trying to root my phone,Huawei U8500 which was so buggy,so i decided to root it,install cwm and flash a new ROM.But the problem is i can't get it rooted.I've tried many methods from XDA but none of them worked.Z4 root loads until it displayed acquiring root access, and then the app crashes (closes itself).I've tried Framaroot, but it didn't work either. It said 'try another exploit',but the thing is it displayed me only one.I also tried poot.apk, but it also failed.Telling me '(-) can't get a handle on it:-1 Permission denied'.
(note that all the time my USB Debugging was enabled ! ) All of the apps are at latest version!
So after so many failed attempts with pc-less methods i've decided to try a PC one.The first method i used was Superoneclick, which didn't work.I thought that was because the phones model was not supported. All until a friend of mine told me that he rooted his phone using the same program (he has as well huawei u8500).Every time i try to root with superoneclick it is stuck at the second step(as in screenshot). Then i started googleing and google-ing,until i found a thread with a program called SRSroot, thinking it will safe me from this nightmare that is haunting me for days. But it failed again. The program told me 'ADB Device not found',which made me think about checking the drivers.I've installed the google usb drivers and SDK Manager with all drivers. But still the same happens. So i decided to see if my computer(later many others) recognize my device. After i typed in ADB 'adb devices' it showed me blank.Later i tried to do the same with my other phone and it displayed the device.Another thing i've noticed lately is my computer sees my device as a cd device in windows device manager. It happened with all computers i tried. I've tried it also at my friends(plural, which means more computers).I've tried it on Win7,win XP,and WIN8 and it is still displayed as cd drive.(which is not the case with other phones i've tested!)
I hope someone will read this and help me.I would also like to add, this is not my first time rooting,so i knew what i was doing.
Im so confused, idk what to do,developers pls HELP ME!!!
I will also post screenshots from all the things mentioned above.Hope this helps you figure out the problem
On the adb devices, are you sure it is setup correct, because it needs a set of rules basically. I don't have time right now. But if you search 'adb' in the xda portal (not forum) you will find a windows universal adb installer. That should fix the adb issue. But apart from that I don't know what else you can do.

Gosh that is so confusing. Could you reset your phone or do you have data you want to keep? Because you could perform an ADB backup and try a factory reset and hope that all is righted.
