[Q] Internet gamestream Nvidia Shield Tablet - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know how to game stream over the internet? The original shield's way doesn't work for me.

Mine works fine. Once you stream from your PC using GeForce Experience, then when you open Shield Hub when outside the network it should work. Yesterday though, my Gamestream quit working altogether. I haven't had time to look into it yet, but I'm assuming it's firewall related.

[Q] Streaming screen (like 3d game) from PC - possible?

Hello,
I am a gamer, and I am quite new to tablets.. and one of things that is bothering me - is there a possibility to use tablet as "remote touch screen".
I mean - lets say we start some game on PC - let the high-end pc hardware do all the rendering and stuff AND then compress it a bit in real-time AND stream it to tablet over WiFi -> so basically you have any PC app "running" on tablet...
(add to that some control conversion from touch to pc mouse-clicks - and most titles should be playable not-so-bad level)
Is something like this possible? Or maybe tegra3 is still not powerful enough to handle that? (or maybe its impossible to real-time compress 720p video to size that would go easy over wifi (20-30 mbit/s ?) ? - if I remember 720p video is present in some skype but I do not know how lag-free it is...)
Just wondering...
Thanks for answers.
Yes. Two things to look into. First, plain old VNC (google it), which has been around forever. The best android VNC client I've used so far is TeamView. Others may have other favorites.
Second, there is a service called OnLive strictly for remotely streaming games to various devices. They have (recently, I believe) released an android client.
Splashtop HD is the best for what you looking for. its built into the Prime. its in the Mycloud app. OnLive is a gaming server client on its own. you choose PC/console games they have on their server. which is alot. you can't set up your own thing with Oblige. Onlive is everything within itself. the streaming game play is great and virtually no lag. play games like PC Nvidia version of Batman Arkham city, Homefront, Metro 2033, Aliens vs. Predator FPS, New Quake, Darksiders, Street Fighter 4 n tons more.

Does anyone that's used both have any thoughts on how Splashtop HD compares to Teamviewer? Is it worth the price tag (Teamviewer being free)?
TV is dead simple to use, but it would never confuse it with using my PC directly. If there is something faster and smoother I'm all for switching...

I don't have my prime in hand to check, but I believe it comes with Splashtop.
Edit: demandarin explained above...

It does, as demandarin already explained above.

You might also want to look into OnLive. They recently released an Android app for their game streaming service. Some games are modified to allow for touch screen control. You can use a game pad as well...
http://www.onlive.com/
Oops... OnLive already mentioned...ah well, I second the suggestion then!
Prime comes with splashtop installed, but if your looking to play games that are streamed off of a PC you want OnLive.
The Prime can handle the streaming part just fine. Splashtop has had the best results for me (best frame rate and picture quality).
There are three major issues you should know about though with Splashtop and your application assuming you are using either the dock or an external mouse and keyboard.
1st - You cannot play the games on you PC in full screen. I'm not sure if it is the same in all remote desktop programs, but there is apparently a difference in the way windows and directx handle the graphics when you have either windowed or full screen. Splashtop can't capture full screen and therefore can only play games in windowed mode.
2nd - Android does not have a right click. Even if you hook up a mouse, right click will be mapped to the back button. This sucks for games in a big way. Some of the RDP software I've seen have a trick for this to get right click, but I haven't had luck gaming with those.
3rd - Splashtop does not mouse track. What this means is that even though you see your mouse cursor moving around on you tablet screen (assuming you are using an external mouse), Splashtop only registers its location when you click on something. The effect is that games like first person shooters won't work properly since you can't look around with the mouse like you normally would. Again, other RPD software out there has this ability, but like before, they didn't work well for games for me.
I would love for this thing to work for playing PC games remotely, but at the moment it just isn't quite there. Splashtop updates frequently, so maybe in the near future they will implement things to fix the last two issues.

[Q] Possible to use android phone as wireless game controller?

does anyone know of an app that will let your use your phone as a game controller via bluetooth?
cant remember the name but I saw one before in market that used Bluetooth.
DroidMote Client and Server can transform your phone in mouse keyboard and gamepad with full analog commands (wifi only)
the bluetooth is not necessary because if you not have a router, You can connect both devices using the function tethering/hotspot portable
Another client/server that will do this is Tablet Remote. It works over BT or Wifi. It's what I've been using to control my TFP from across the room via my Atrix.
But Tablet Remote not have a mouse and the gamepad not have analog commands.
it simulate only a custom keyboard ime. is not practical and not complete for controlling a remote Android device.
a game that have gamepad support not recognize Tablet Remote as gamepad.
DroidMote instead is the only one who does all these things, and with DroidMote Client you can also control a Windows machine or a Linux machine
BTController can offer the equal of roughly using your phone as a SNES style controller for games on your tablet. It works by changing the keyboard/ime .

yeah, BTcontroller works great. I have it on my atrix. like you said, you just have to make sure to select it from the keyboard/input changer/ime. I've noticed though some games that only use analog stick controls doesn't seem to work. I tried using it with onlive and had limited functionality on alot of games I tried to play there that require a gamepad. it works great with all emulators though. amazing how phone can do this. very fast n simple setup also.
Now in DroidMote you can have multitouch futures like the phisical keyboard of asus transformer prime.

How about motion-sensor, usefull in game PC ex: car racing game

game controller

hi!
I've recently bought the fire HD 6, and was thinking if there are any compatible bluetooth game controllers.
I was thinking to connect it to the TV and use it as a sort of android game console.
Thank you very much
Root and use a PS3 controller is probably your best bet.
The Ouya controller work just fine. Just press the OUYA button (located on the low center in the controller), and when two light start blinking, search as any device at bluethooth menu.
The Ouya controller has an integrated touchpad and can be used as a mouse on your screen. But if you're planning to play a game, remember it's depend if that game has the controller button mapping or you'll need to use Tincore Keymapper to do it manually.
I already rooted my KHD6, so I did the controller test after root, but I'm pretty sure you don't need the root to make it work. I use the same controller on my NON-ROOTED Fire Stick TV and works just fine.
PS4 Controller works like a charm, Played Pokemon On Myboy for a little while, while it was linked to my Chromecast.
I would say a PS4 Controller works out of the box as well, as I wasent rooted at the time.

I just bought this controller about week ago and it work with HD6 (I only use GBC,GBA, and Drastic emulators). They work good so far. I haven't test any Android games yet, but I assume it work fine. This controller is awesome. I used with my HD6, phone, and laptop. Recommended!

mame4droid+wiimote+light gun emulation?

what's the likelihood of being able to emulate an arcade light gun game, for example point blank, on the nvidia shield tv, using a wiimote as a controller?
does anyone have the means to try this?

I have tried so many ways to make this work. The only app that ever kind of worked was USB/BT Joystick Center Gold. I was able to use that on an older Minix I was using to play games on my TV. It worked well, but I haven't been able to find a way to make it work with the SATV. I have installed the app on my SATV and I am rooted, but it says it can't find "uinput /dev" and so it won't work.
I have looked into the mayflash dolphinbar, https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-W01...474996745&sr=8-1&keywords=mayflash+dolphinbar
I actually emailed them and asked if there was a way to make IR input work as a touch mouse on android, and they said it didn't have that functionality, but if I knew a developer who could point them in the right direction, they would build it in. Unfortunately I don't know anyone. Dolphin emulator achieved some level of wiimote functionality in the emulator, but it was only in the dolphin emulator, not system wide, and I am not even sure if they had the IR working, I think it was just the wii buttons.
I have tried everything, but I haven't had any success. If you stumble on something, please let me know. I used to be able to play TimeCrisis from PSXE, there were a number of android games that worked well with it too, like Major Mayhem. It would be awesome to get a wiimote working as an IR mouse on our SATV.
Possible solution
If anyone is interested in this, there is a product on kickstarter that may solve the problem. Right now Android support is on the road map, which all know means it may never come. But, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on!
Search for the Sinden Lightgun. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sindenlightgun/the-sinden-lightgun/description
Mame is definitely a lost cause and the wiimote in general via Android. In theory I think the most plausible way would be by using the dolphinbar as a mouse pointer. I played around with all this a few years ago and the only joy I had was gamestreaming the PC version of dolphin with the dolphinbar attached to the PC. I found the gun was terrible unless you were 3 metres away from the screen minimum. However if you can get this set up it works perfectly and can enjoy games like House of the Dead, Goldeneye Wii, Dead Space whatever it's called etc.

Streaming to PS4 from android on nintendo switch wont find ps4 at all?

Anyone else ran into this where the ps4 isnt found. I ran through the guides and did everything correct pretty sure. I can get ps4 remote play to spin on the icons but never connects, pstreamer doesnt find the console even direct ip wise. I've tried everything. It works fine on my phones android however.
Any thoughts?
Why not just use "chiaki" ?https://github.com/thestr4ng3r/chiaki/releases
