My buddy just got his M8
He's on ATT, I'm on Verizon
I just want to clarify that the unlock root method still works or if theres any changes to it.
Download Sunshine and Root and Unlock
Can then I use flashify to flash the TWRP recovery image
And be good to install roms ect?
Just want to make sure.

Yeah Sunshine still works on all devices as far as I know. As far as Flashify...I'm not so sure as sometimes you can't get SuperSU to work after Sunshine does it and the only way to root your device is to flash the supersu zip which would require a recovery. Soo I recommend doing the fastboot method of flashing the recovery but you can try Flashify method if you want. Roms...A-Okay!
Can you send me the right twrp recovery and super user

Thank you so much! I'm unlocked and all.
What version of viper do you use? And if you use and older version like 1.80 can you send that please. I'm nervous to install the new update and have a long boot up time .
Thank you for everything .

You can get it from the Venom teams website, just download Viper ROM 1.7.1 full ROM and the 1.8.0 update then flash them. 1.7 first then 8
Is that the ROM your using ?

I have been trying for about a month now to root my HTC DX and have been successful in unlocking bootloader and installing a custom recovery (CWM) but when it comes to installing Superuser zip through CWM and rebooting the superuser app is present but when I verify with root checker it says 'Sorry! This device does not have proper root access.' I've read threads on the forums with people having the same problems and resolving them but it doesn't work for me . Can anyone help me please? It's driving me mad lol.
Try using TWRP if your device is not rooted before rebooting your phone from TWRP it will give you a msg "phone not rooted install superuser" just swipe to install and it might work...

Also be sure to use the right recovery version for hboot...
Be sure you're using lastest version which is 1.80 at this moment.

If the @GtrCraft 's file doesn't work, just flash a custom ROM with root included (i.e. this ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330229)... and don't forget to make a nandroid backup before you flash anything.
my stock ver is 13.3.2 using safestrap 3.75. is it possible that i download the new safestrap 4.0 and install new rom CM11 or nexus like the way i did before?
If you're on 3.2.3.2, you can install TWRP (a true recovery) and unlock your bootloader (which will also allow you to install ROMs like CM12).

Got the same problem seems like the root mode in the dev options is not working. I flashed SuperSu and it's recognised by Root checker. If TWRP asks you to root the device before booting, do NOT swipe to install

Of course I would! But I'm still on 20150220 as I was planning to skip the current version so I did not patch the newest boot.img yet. If there is demand I can still do it though.

Hey!
recently flashed the Autralian MM FTF onto my Z2 D6503!
Now i miss my loved apps like Greenify, Lucky Patcher, Intelli3G, XPOSED, a custom recovery, amplify and so on. I tried to root it using KingRoot4.6 (sucsessfully) and then used Supersume.apk to replace the kingroot app with supersu. but after every reboot i need to root it again, which means my methode isn``t working problery! How can i root it? i really want SuperSU, Busybox, Xposed and the [NUT`s] Dual Recovery!
thats the build:
D6503_23.5.A.0.570_1281-9715_R4D
It depends on weather you want to unlock your bootloader or not
I typically flash a Kernel with recovery then flash systemless root but you do require a unlocked bootloader to do it this way
You could downgrade to KK, use a root tool to install root and recovery then use recovery to upgrade to a pre-rooted MM
Sent from my D6503 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Afaik the only way for the moment, it's to downgrade to a previous version, then flash a MM pre rooted rom.

You can use a tool called PRFCreator, you will need a SuperSu zip and a FTF of your choice
Sent from my E6653 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I tried to do that (downgrading to KK, rooting, dual recovery, making a flashable pre rooted MM) but ended up with bootloops. Tried to flash a stock however I, with difficulty, could only flash KK again. This time I used wirelessly downloaded all the software updates.
I think I will wait some time, till a better way exists.
There is a pre-rooted MM in the forum, I've tried earlier. But it is for D6503, not my d6502. It has a 3g fix, but in About Phone, it reads D6503. And root isn't working there as well. or perhaps I was doing something wrong.
I'm starting to think that MM isn't root-friendly

You will get the root soon for MM. This is why I hate Sony devices. Updates also comes late and rooting also comes late. Fed-up with this z2. Gonna go with Samsung

hehe thanks mate, but I have already rooted my Z2 with MM a week ago and isntalled xposed and a TWRP recovery
I simply created a flashable zip from the 6.0.1 ftf and a supersu 4.61 beta

i didnt notice that
you since you have a unlocked bootloader can now flash the "advanced Stock kernel" found in one of the dev sections, through that you can flash supersu

I recently rooted my device using this tutorial:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/guide-root-using-magisk-stock-recovery-t3718203
The guy who posted it says that since we keep the stock recovery we can safely install OTA updates without any problems but he doesn't mention how. Is there a way to install OTA without getting bootlooped or bricked and of course without wiping everything? Also, Flashfire doesn't work on my phone (it kicks me out after loading). Besides I've heard that it can really mess up your device. Just please help out here because I really want to keep my phone updated without losing my data.
Thx in advance
