Good aftternoon,
I've been trying to update my bootloader/modem from here
Edgars Latest BOOTLOADER/MODEM Packages
Choosing 900t and downloading it and following the directions for UVU1BNH5 it still shows up as NF6 no matter how many times I flash in the about settings.
I don't see any errors in Odin 3 and it flashes fine. I've pulled the battery before and after multiple times.
Anyone run into this and have a fix?

What shows up as NF6? The build number will always show as NF6, but the modem should be updated.

Thanks,
It's the baseband number that's still showing up NF6. So it will always say that but update the modem?

Maybe wait till beanstown releases his version. The thread you posted says to do it multiple times if it doesn't work.

Alright, I'll wait for beanstown. Tried to do it multiple times, no go.
May be it a bad download. Just flashed mine an hour ago without any problem.

Your screen shot just shows you loading the modem file, i.e. before you press "start" to actually try writing it to your phone. We need an Odin log or screen shot after you press the start button to see how Odin handles it.
It's common practice to write a modem or radio file twice as they are fussy. And the bootloader @ Android 4.3 is more restrictive and will sometimes return an auth failure if you flash the modem alone. The workaround if that happens is to first address timing e.g. try a different USB cable and port, disable firewall and malware programs, etc. And if necessary, flash the full stock firmware that contains the desired modem. The latter when Odin simply refuses to flash the modem only.
But first we need to see if Odin is succeeding or not. And your screenshot was taken before the write cycle finished.
Also, confirm that your device is in fact a 900T model, not another variant e.g. 900A, 900F, etc.

I had similar problems every time I tried to update - I found the best solution for me was to flash the entire TAR - everything - not just firmware and modem but the full tar.
The downside is you have to reroot - and you have to re-flash recovery - but that doesn't take too much time - bottom line, I usually have to flash the full stock tar file once - sometimes twice - but never more than two -
I also found that I had to always use Odin 3.09 - but from the screen shot you posted, it looks like youi have that version of Odin anyway - so maybe try flashing the full stock tar and see if that helps.
Good Luck...

Yea, not sure what it is I gave it a couple days just to settle and tried downloading the bootloader and modem and when I tried mounting them it md5 failed. I used an older download of the same modem and low and behold it flashed successfully first try. Am now BHN5. Still don't understand why it works part of the time. Thanks for all your help

Problems with the Internet 3 times tore off downloading ((Provider our bad Russia))
i have a galaxy s3..
The android version was 4.0.3
I wanted to renew the version to 4.1.2 so i downloaded the stock british ROM4.1.2
I opened ODIN and put the md5 file in PDA and conected the PHONE into the computer (DoWNLOAD)
afet clicking START it was kind of stuck on BOOT.img and FAILED. I disconnected the phone and he worked...
i tried another version and a blue line started to apper in the DOWNLOAD MOD but it STUCKED again.. so i disconnected the phone and now i have the messege: "FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE.PLEASE SELECT RECOVERY MODE IN KIES AND TRY AGAIN"
what should i DO ?? i can only gen into download mode
What guide were you following? Did it say to put the firmware into "pit"?
Considering you have no idea what you're doing, it's unlikely you'll manage to fix this by yourself.
Short answer: flash the correct pit file

oh sorry i meant PDA ...
So you only flashed the pit file without the actual Firmware?
You really need a guide to not screw things up here now.
If download mode is working, good.
What files do you have in your firmware zip file. I mean there can`t be only a Pit file.
List all files here detailed.
Edit:
So there was only one File? and you put it in pda?
If yes that should be correct.
What Galaxy S3 do you have? The international one? I9300 ?
Also provide a link from where did you download the Firmware?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1978840
Then try reading the basics before flashing anything .
Ignorance = a brick .
jje
1. tell us where exactly you got the firmware
2. read the product name under the battery. is it I9300?

Ok first download a firmware that is absolutely safe to use. You can use this site to do so or search here at XDA for a Firmware:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
XDA I9300 Firrmwares (Check the second post of that thread and search for your country):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
afterwards check how many files there are in the firmware zip and then use this guide to flash the firmware:
Intratech said:
1. Just download the firmware version you want from the second or third posts and extract the .tar or .tar.md5 file in the archive and save it somewhere
2. Reboot your phone to download mode.
To get download mode shut down the device. After it shuts off completely simultaneously press the Down volume key+ Home button + press the power button .
You should see a warning asking you to press volume up if you want to continue or volume down to cancel, press volume up. You are now in download mode!
3. Start Odin
4. Click on the PDA button and browse to the .tar or .tar.md5 file that you extracted in step 1
If the package has more than one .tar archive then they will be labelled with PDA, Phone/Modem and CSC. Just put them in the corresponding section of Odin
5. DO NOT PUT .PIT FILE AND DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TICK REPARTITION.
Anyone ask about .pit file is a moron
Should look like this screenshot
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If the package has 3 files it should look like this:
Regardless of firmware version it's still the same methodology
6. Connect the USB cable and wait for the ID:COM section to turn yellow
7. Click start to flash
8. Do not disconnect the cable or turn off the device, it will reboot when it finishes.

Help someome please
Hey there guys.... Please read this first so I don't get flamed for taking a OTA update on a non rooted phone.
Heres the skinny.... My buddy gave me his old Galaxy S4 (Verizon I545). When I got it from him, it had KIt Kat on it. His phone was not hooked up with Verizon, since he just got a S5 and switched to AT&T. So I popped in my Tmobile sim card and away I went I had NO problems what so ever for three days. I wake up, and BAM it's Lollipop.
NOW, when it's on 4G, I can't send sms messages (but I can recieve them). I CAN send however send and recieve MMS messages. Internet, and phone work perfect. I have tried everything (wipe cached partition, reboot, clear data for messaging app, etc...), no luck
MY GOAL: Being that I live on a rural area (about 20 minute drive to get cell service), I have been using my wifi calling on my Tmobile phone (prior to taking the S4). My master plan was to root and flash a rom (like insane Kit kat) that would enable the wifi calling..... BUT it went to Lollipop before I could do so.
Now I cant send SMS, NOR can I flash it either.... OR could I??? Any help would be appreciated guys (and girls)..
NOTE: I have tried KingoRoot, and Towelroot... none supported my phone...
Thanks for your input in advance

If the build number ends with OC1, then there is no going back. If it ends with something else... Possibly hope

That's awesome.... being a noob and you a senior member, I have a noob question, if we have a non rooted OC1, how can we get into the rom to do it? I thought we couldn't root it yet?
OC1 does not have root or ROM availability. Nothing can me nodded on OC1.
Repair your Device to Match T-Mobile!!
So, this is a Bit risky.....!!!!!!!
The reason is Because the device is trying to Connect to a Verizon APN. If you factory restore the Device to the T-Mobile Variant, It will Work Flawlessly!
BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA!!! This will WIPE EVERYTHING!!!!
These files are intended to be used with ODIN ONLY!! If at any time ODIN FAILS, pull battery, re-insert battery, go back to "ODIN Mode" and try again.
Here are the Two files you will need to Repair the Device to Be a T-Mobile Device!
These packages are Direct from Samsung and includes the PIT for partitioning!!
ODIN v.3.10:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4RU_ZH5QUASSWhaMmdiaFJ1Tm8/view?usp=sharing
SGH-M919 Service Files:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4RU_ZH5QUASbk5TMU9rdGtwTlU/view?usp=sharing
Extract the Two (2) Downloaded Zips
Right-Click on the "ODIN v.3.10.exe" and "Run as Administrator" on your Windows PC.
Click on each of the 4 buttons below and browse to find matching file in extracted image folder:
BL = BL_****.tar.md5
AP = AP_****.tar.md5
CP = CP-MODEM-****.tar.md5
CSC = CSC-****.tar.md5
Check the following boxes:
Auto-Reboot
Re-Partition
F. Reset Time
NAND Erase All
Put 100% charged device into ODIN Mode, and connect to PC USB with Original Cable.
Check there two boxes in ODIN:
Phone Bootloader Update
Clear EFS Partition
Hit the "Start" button
Once the Device reboots, Wait Ten minutes for Programming to occur.
Perform Two [2] FDR (Factory Data Reset), Just bskip thru the Wizard.
Phone is back to complete stock!!
Just to confirm, and not to doubt you (KaosMaster), have you done this, and can you point me to people who have? I know there is risk involved with any of this, but even a small problem can seem like a huge problem to a cell phone noob like me lol... Honestly, I have a lot of experience logging, and reflashing the ecm computer on my Mistsubishi Evo... Although its not a cell phone, it's the same premise in theory. :laugh: :laugh:
@KaosMaster
Also just to be clear, this will work with a NON rooted phone, that CANT be rooted at this time??
This is the STOCK Method! NO ROOT

this will Completely reprogram your device to T-Mobile, yes it has been done before by others if you wanna Google Search!!
Worst case is that ODIN Fails To flash and we have to reload the Verizon Software!

Ok. I need to find the lollipop version for tmobile. Give me a few
Hi guys:
I have a problem with my GT-I9305. Last week it showed me some messages about a Policy Update and an app trying to access files. I clicked on Upgrade and it said that I have the latest one. (words more than less). Friday morning it restarts itself and never passes the 1rst screen, the one saying Galaxy S III GT-I9305, not even the one saying Samsung.
So I went to Samsung Support in Melbourne and been told that main PCB is faulty and need to be replaced. But.... there is the reason of my post ... I found that I can enter download mode and even I tried to do a factory reset. But apparently NAND files are corrupted as the boot files are missing. (Images attached) I have errors like :
E:failed to mount / cache (no such file or directory)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now , a faulty PCB won’t allow me accessing download mode or android factory reset / wipe options , I believe. (or want to believe)
So, is there a way to flash the whole thing and resuscitate my phone?
I tried to use Odin V1.85, V3.09, V3.10 with firmaware taken from sammobile for Australia Optus (as I bought the phone from them) I9305XXUENC2_I9305OPSENC3_I9305XXUENA2_HOME.tar.md5
It failed all times.
Some forums suggest me to flash the .pit file, but I can’t find the one corresponding to my phone.
So the thing is : can my phone be hard bricked and still give me the down load options ?
if No, How can I flash the NAND files
This is a Galaxy S III LTE for Australia, service provider Optus. I did not root it and it was using stock firmware with officials updates. and yes , of course it's out of warranty. (otherwise the guys in Samsung would put more effort in fixing it)
Model: GT-I9305
FCC ID : A3LGTI9305
SSN: -I9305GSMH
Any help is much appreciated.
Do anyone knows how to restore / flash the bootloader ?
That could take me in the right direction

Hey Jonathan, I haven't used a Samsung Device for a while as I moved on to use Sony devices, but I'm gonna try to help you out as you asked me on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61923100&postcount=149
Just give this a go.
Download this Vodafone firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/50575/I9305XXUFOD3_I9305VNZFOD1_VNZ/
Follow the instructions you see on the bottom of the page that includes downloading Odin v.3.10.6. After that if it's failed again then re flash the firmware with Re-Partition ticked and pit file included. Find the attached pit file for I9305

By the way I notice you give me a link to New Zealand - Vodaphone Firmaware, but mine is an Australian - Optus. Would it work in the same way using the following firmware, given the same PIT file you mentioned ?

Yeah it doesn't matter, Except New Zealand firmware is newer and Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat while Optus firmware is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. If you already downloaded the Optus firmware then don't waste your time downloading the NZ firmware. See if you can boot your phone after re-partitioning with .pit file

Give it a another go with old version of Odin 3.07 attached below, which is the last version I used with my S3. Try it with and without .pit . I'm afraid I can't think of anything other than hardware fault if it still fails after that. Also make sure Kies not running on background and Samsung USB drivers are installed. Good luck

EDIT
The reason behind this wanted change is because the annoying appearance of these messages :
android.process.acore has stopped
Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
I have disabled "Google Play services" & "Google Play Store" to prevent these messages from appearing again : I used substitutes instead like Yalp & F-droid : I have had a good time with my phone for months, but lately there appeared other annoying problems :
1- I can not activate WiFi !!
2- Whenever I use Camera there's : photos taken are black AND/OR not saved
3- I can never access galery
4- I can only go through the File Manager but I can no longer manipulate files : create directories ..
Any solutions for any of these problems please ??

I know this isn't the right place for this, but, the Hydro Air does have recovery... It's just stock though. The only way to get to it is to adb reboot recovery. The lack of root and recovery is why I use it as my daily... I don't know how many times I've soft-bricked my daily and had to be without a phone until I figured it out. Lol.
